Altstadt Hotel Hofwirt Salzburg

I liked breakfast and the size of the room. There were three of us, and our daughter had her own real bed. We were given a free transportation ticket - used it to get to the train station on the way back.

The septic system in Europe is notorious for its smell, but even when you know that it’s hard to get used to. It’s a bit removed from the center, but it might be a good thing.

Food and location were great. The staff helped us book tours etc. They couldn't have been nicer.

The staff was very accommodating for our early arrival. Comfortable space while you wait, both inside and outside.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was extensive and always plentiful. The location was exceptional. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and recommend anyone to do so.

My only complaint was the quality of the WiFi. But definitely not the end of the world.

Great location. Quiet room. Lavish breakfast included in price. Not cheap, but it's a tourist town, so expected.

The bathroom didn't have a window and could use some kind of perfume or air-freshener.

We chose this hotel because it was within walking distance of the Christmas Markets and the fact that breakfast was included. It was a nice surprise that we were each given a travel voucher for the local transportation good for our whole stay.

The included breakfast was a nice addition. The facilities were clean.

There is no airflow in the room--no fans, AC or heat. The room is stagnant. You have to open the window to a noisy street to get any airflow. This made for a restless sleep each night. The shower will be scalding anytime someone in the building (not limited to your room) turns on any water source. The parking garage space is very limited and therefore we had to go to a different parking garage which was not convenient.

Excellent location, you are basically downtown. Public transport right outside the door. Not hotel specific but Salzburg provides free public transport to every guest. Excellent breakfast. Staff was nice and helpful.

Close to the old town. Nice walk to every thing. Stores close by for anything you might need.

Maybe more space in the room to hang clothes

Generally the location is great

I felt like the hotel is more of a hostel than anything else. The colors of the room were screaming, the breakfast was so noisy and crowded. The parking was 22 Euros!!!And the price was so expensive to what we received ..

The water pressure in the shower was too low and they didn't fix it, the towels had hair on them

Location. It was walking distance to everything we wanted to see. The breakfast was very good.

Room was very warm. When we opened the window the noise from the street below made it difficult to sleep.

The mattresses of the beds are really soft and provide no support for the body.. The lights on the room are a bit low. If not for the mattresses, I would have govern this hotel a perfect rate.

Great location, about 15 minutes walk from the city center (Residenzplatz, Domplatz). Close to airport’s bus stop, and other buses that can take you to the city and even to Schloss Hellbrunn. The breakfast was good, and the free coffee/tea in the lobby were perfect for the cold days. There’s a supermarket right in front of the hotel and you can microwave pastries in the hotel’s lobby.

No shampoo or conditioner in the shower so bring your own.

Located across the street from the Altstadt, which made for a lovely, leisurely walk to eating, shopping and the Christmas markets. The breakfast, which was included in the price, was superb. The room was comfortable, clean, quiet, and a nice size with an outside balcony.

The breakfast was excellent! The staff were friendly and professional. The room was large, clean, and well-appointed. Great location.

Upon arrival, we were charged 34 euros extra for “city tax,” then gave us a “free” bus pass. Not exactly free, is it? I thought all taxes were included by Booking. Com. Also, the water temperature in the shower fluctuated hot to cold throughout all showers, actually hot enough to have to jump out of the water stream, followed immediately by cold water.
