Hotel Villa Carlton - Adults Only

Great location. Updated bathroom.

Room was overpriced for the size. Small room. Pictures did not reflect how small the room actually was. Charge for parking in their own parking lot. Breakfast was lame; just bread and coffee.

We loved the location because it was close to most of what we did while in Salzburg. We could walk and enjoyed our room which looked out onto the street. Breakfast was good as promised- lots of coffee and bread selections!

The room and washroom are very spacious with a luggage storage bench and sitting area bench. The staff are all helpful and kind throughout the stay in providing recommendations and always greeting guests as they come and go. There is complimentary breakfast everyday (croissants, bread, jam, tea and coffee) and a clean and spacious breakfast area.

Note that the AC is centrally controlled and cannot be adjusted in your room. A fridge in the room would also be nice.

The hotel is lovely in general, but the location is especially great! Not too far away from the train station, in a nice neighborhood, right across Salzburg's thermal baths. It is quiet, cute, and artsy.

The gentleman who manned the reception desk was excellent. Sorry I do not recall his name. He was gracious and accommodating. Kind and patient. We had a lovely room with a view to the river. The breakfast area was lovely.

The mattress were very hard/uncomfortable.

Well located, close enough to train station and center action.

We appreciated the croissants and coffee in the morning. A small fruit token would have been near perfect.

Villa Carlton is in some ways more like a guesthouse or B&B than a hotel, and I mean that in a complimentary way. It has a friendly and laid-back vibe and although the room lacks coffee or tea making facilities there is a vending machine just off the breakfast room and a comfortable lounge next to reception for use during the day. The included light breakfast was fine and we very much appreciated the host opening the breakfast room for us a little early as we had to catch an early train. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the train station and the same distance from the old town of Salzburg.

As other reviewers have mentioned, a coffee machine or at least a kettle in the room would be a nice addition.

Not a lot. Breakfast is great if your not gluten free and not hungry. Cereal (gf) would be nice thought.

A room that looked like a jail with a car park right outside with poeple walking by. Grills on all the windows - horrible. Disgusting picture on the wall. Panal in the bathroom falling down giving my wife a heart attack. Light fitting not repaired and hanging from false ceiling in bathroom. Very, very poor lighting in the bedroom - impossible to read, Pathetic bedside 'lamps'. 'Internatonal hotel?' How about some English channals on the TV apart from CNN and BBC World.

The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was great!

Beautiful room. Nice location.

Everything was wonderful, however, for the price we paid I was expecting a little more selection for breakfast. Rolls and croissants with coffee/tea was our breakfast. We had booked an early tour one of the days and it would have been nice to have had a more substantial breakfast. Going out to eat was not an option since restaurants don’t open until later.

We were clear that the breakfast was simple so we had no expectations other than bread and jam. The coffee machine was outstanding. Our room was a simple and very adequate. Great location for walking to our destinations.

It would have been so nice to have had a kettle and tea bags instant coffee in our room. It really would have made all the difference.

Beautiful hotel. Only a few minutes walk from the main park. Quiet neighborhood. Air conditioning. Very nice staff.

The staff were really helpful and thoughtful and accommodated our late arrival. Every member of staff we met were welcoming and kind... The hotel was easy to reach from the train station and within easy walking distance of all the main sights in Vienna. It was beautifully decorated and very comfortable.

Continental breakfast is literally bread and coffee. Very disappointing when you spend $30. We ended up going to another breakfast place in town.
