    • Claudia and Jorge were amazing hosts, waited up for us to arrive late in the evening to tour us around and assist with luggage to our room. My husband and I were starting our babymoon in Salzburg, we were greatly surprised by a complimentary room upgrade - spacious, incredibly cozy, and well decorated! Loved the walkability to great shops, cafes, and historical siyes!
    • What a wonderful place to stay! My daughter and I stayed for 3 nights in December and loved it. So quiet, perfect location and stunning attention to detail. The lounge/fireplace/bar/games room etc etc was brilliant. Such a lovely chilled communal space to gather at the end of the day. I would highly recommend this hotel - you will not be disappointed! it really is a serious gem.

I absolutely loved this hotel! The concept is such that you have a shared living room and common room floor for reading, eating, a pantry, etc. with your beautifully appointed room upstairs. It is so well designed--luxurious yet cozy and homelike. It's a respite for weary travelers and a retreat from the everyday grind. What a wonderful experience!

The Townhouse is the most unique hotel we’ve stayed in - more like being hosted in a luxury apartment. We absolutely loved the style/decor and our whole stay was warm and comfortable. The hosts are so welcoming and friendly and we felt they took pride in the house and were concerned to ensure we had a good stay. It’s without doubt the loveliest place we’ve stayed at. The location can’t be beaten - tucked away in a quiet corner but in the absolute heart of the old town. Salzburg is a beautiful city we hope to return to and we wouldn’t bother looking elsewhere to stay - we very much hope to return to the Townhouse! Can’t recommend highly enough.

    Everything was perfect

My wife and I stayed in a beautiful room in a fantastic location below the fortress, close to the cathedral, and in the heart of the pedestrian-only old town (which was especially good since I ran the Mozart 50K race that ended nearby). The building is about 800 years old and is gorgeous, including an entire floor with a giant living and dining room and kitchen for the guests. We ate dinner there and I had breakfast the morning of the race and rarely saw other guests, as there are only a few rooms, so you will almost have the entire place to yourself. It also has a courtyard where you can sit. And it was ethereal to hear the cathedral's choir from our room. The staff, including the charming manager, were wonderful. He helped us carry our luggage up a hill (do not let your Uber or cab driver drop you off further away because they do not have the code to get through the gates) and even went to a store to get us non-dairy milk.

We had an exceptional stay at Townhouse Weisses Kreuz. The property is absolutely beautiful, it has been very cleverly designed to make the most of the stunning period features without compromising on any of the modern facilities you expect from a high-end hotel. The location is perfect, right in the centre of the Old Town and walking distance to everything we wanted to see. The staff were so helpful, they made us feel incredibly welcome, offered lots of good advice and made sure we had everything we needed. It was a truly fabulous stay and I would throughly recommend it.

I only wish we stayed longer. We will have to return!

If you love interiors you will love this hotel. Claudia was brilliant before we arrived with instructions etc and greeted us on arrival which was really nice! The hotel has been curated with so many thoughtful and stylish pieces even down to the little leather pieces around well used areas of the wall tacked in beautifully with brass tacks (he have stolen that idea for our cottage back home!) Water in the room and wifi available there is a lounge downstairs available with coffee and snacks etc if you wish. The bed was SUPER comfy, luxurious quality linens and nice and quiet. LOVE LOVE LOVE ❤️

Going Home and not getting time to use the steam room / sauna :(

The Townhouse Weisses Kreuz was our splurge for our 15-day Christmas Market excursion. We were only 300 meters from the Christmas Market yet in an oasis of our own. The room was spacious and the beds were amazing. The overall decor is spectacularly finished much as it must have looked 300 years ago, yet everything (light switched, bathroom appliances, elevator!) was super modern. The highlight of the stay was Jorge, our host. Aside from being a very friendly man, he was super informative and shared insights that made our stay amazing (like giving us a heads up about the Krampus at the market our first night there, something we probably would have missed; or like suggesting the Triangle when we asked where we might get authentic Austrian cuisine in a casual setting -- we have the BEST schnitzel ever!) Thanks, Jorge!

The ONLY thing was the price. You pay for what you get and we got it all: great location, great service, wonderful and informative/helpful hosts, super breakfast, amazing bed and bath (yes a bath and a separate shower), etc. And it was the most expensive place we stayed on our 15-day Christmas Market excursion. We splurged and loved it!

It was one of the most unique places I have stayed. Such an awesome hostoric building and so clean. The proprietor was very kind and told us about a restaurant that we absolutely loved. We sat by the fireplace upstairs and drank wine from their bar. Visited the fortress and the Christmas Market which was also beautiful. A wonderful experience. Can’t imagine a nicer place to stay in the historic area. Thank you for everything!

This hotel is pure quality, everything is sumptuous and so much better than good. Location is central, the owners are genuinely pleasant, interesting and interested eg on the first day we were directed to a real Christmas market 5km south of the city, including the walking route to get there …

    Nothing to dislike

Townhouse Weisses Kreuz was an excellent place to stay. Jorg (and Claudia) was a wonderful host. He made our stay so pleasant. He arranged a taxi for us, made recommendations on places to eat and what to see. The location is perfect for the Christmas markets. The beds were so comfortable, the shower is excellent and the building, and renovations to the building, were superb. Loved hearing the history of the building. Will stay here every trip to Salzburg from now on.

    Everything was excellent.

Staying at Townhouse Weisses Kreuz was truly the highlight of our trip to Salzburg, far exceeding all our expectations in every way.The interiors and rooms were exceptional, with every detail and design thoughtfully considered. From the cozy atmosphere to the elegant furnishings, it felt less like staying in a hotel and more like being welcomed into an extraordinary home. It’s unlike any accommodation we’ve experienced before!A special thanks to Claudia and Jörg, who were such wonderful hosts - always available and eager to ensure our stay was seamless and memorable. Their warm hospitality made all the difference. The location couldn’t have been better, right in the heart of Salzburg’s Old Town. It was a short walk to the Christmas markets, Salzburg Cathedral, and Getreidegasse, making it a perfect base for exploring the city. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

There was nothing we didn’t like - everything about our stay was flawless. It exceeded all our expectations!

The prime location, historic building, comfortable beds, beautiful decor and excellent hosts made this stay absolutely amazing!

It was a little warm in the bedrooms

I don’t even know where to begin! Whoever designed this place, thought of EVERYTHING. Joerg, the manager was not only available anytime from anywhere but exceeded any expectation of care. The location is beyond exceptional. The bed was more comfortable and restoring than my own. That’s a big deal while traveling!

    Not one thing. :-)

This is one of the most amazing places we have stayed in.Perfect location in the old city but quiet enough away from the crowds.Rooms are beautifully decorated, combining the Salzburg tradition with a modern flare. The late night honor system drinks in the breathtaking living room are a totally unexpected plus. And of course, there is Jorg.... a fantastic host that does not miss any detail. We would absolutely recommend it as the place TO stay in Salzburg.

Beautiful, solid, quiet building. Chic. Wonderful helpful staff / owner. Hopped to to find us a suitable last minute dinner reservation and superb walking directions. Only stayed one night and didn't get to use the exquisite lounge floor and take them up on beverages or snacks etc.
