Pros +
- This historic property is attractive, well maintained, and in an excellent location. Free filtered and cool water in lobby. Beware: stairs between elevator and rooms.
- The room was very quiet and fantastic!
- This is the quaintest little hotel I have ever seen! The decor and paintings all over the walls and even the doors to the elevators are magnificant! The morning breakfast was very filling with lots of breads, jams, drinks, meats cereals, yogurt, nuts, etc
Cons -
- Not all rooms are conditioned. Opening windows in a street-side room means all-night light and noise. Breakfast: single plate of preselected meat, cheese and yogurt. Our vegan asked for extra vegetables, received 4 slices of cucumber instead of 2.
- During our stay the bar and restaurant were both closed, which was a disappointment. But everything else was great!
- This is a very hard hotel to find. I would suggest calling before arrival and speaking to someone about how/where to park. You have to park in a garage about 300 meters away from the hotel, so don't plan to carry your luggage!

We really liked the location of the hotel. It was a 15 minute walk from the Salzburg Hauptbahnhof and was located in a really cute part of town. The staff were really friendly and spoke great English. The breakfast was included and was really delicious!
While this is not the hotel's fault, we had the windows open at night because it was quite warm (temperatures in the 80s for the highs) and every morning the garbage truck came through the alley quite early and woke us up. We were able to fall back asleep
The receptionist was exceptional in helping us get around Salzburg with great information. The breakfast was superb!!!!

Made me feel at home
The location is perfect, the room comfortable and very clean, the staff, all of them professional and extremely welcoming and nice!
Maybe more type of bread choices and a cake on the breakfast buffet.
The family apartment was very spacious and well appointed. We enjoyed having space to relax at the end of the day and make a coffee in the morning. The location was fantastic with the major sites of Salzburg within walking distance. There are many great restaurants close by. We had a fabulous Christmas Eve dinner in the adjoining restaurant.
This wasn't an issue for us but, while there is a lift the floors are on split levels so you might be required to take 8 or so stairs.
Room and location very Good. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant and a bar on ground floor which you should definitely visit.
If I have to be very picky, in comparison to other hotels on our 3 week trip the options for breakfast was minimal but still very good. nothing else to add as our stay was very pleasant.
Amazing location in the heart of everything in Old Town. 5 minute walk to Mirabelle Gardens and palace.
Lots of stairs / even though there is a good elevator, uneven levels are handled with a few stairs. The building was built in 1353. That’s right — 700 years ago. It is well-appointed, has all the electronics needed—amazing food and staff and service. It is beautiful inside and out.
Location in the slightly quieter part of the Altstadt (i.e. across the river), but within a few minutes walk of all the main attractions on the other side, was perfect. Our room was comfortable, quiet and very warm, and the shower worked efficiently.Breakfast offered a range of meats and cheeses, fresh fruit salad, other fruit, and cake, as well as eggs freshly cooked to order. The coffee and a range of teas, (while from a machine) were also very acceptable.Staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. Thank you!
While our room was comfortable and clean, and we appreciated a safe, the wardrobe seemed a tad shabby. The restaurant was attractive and the food good, but the fact that it is run independent of the hotel did have a drawback, in that after we had reserved a table for two evenings, we were still receiving emails from the hotel reminding us to book (as at Christmas it was high season). This led to a slight amount of confusion.Better communication between the two establishments would have avoided this.
Warm welcome, hospitality and reception and grate breakfast. Large room. Right location close to the Castle and not so far form the city center.
Location was great. The room was comfortable and the breakfast had plenty of options to choose from. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Parking was at a parking station as the hotel is in the old town. This was ok, but in Europe, the car park bays are small and narrow.
Location, location location staff, welcome area with maps
Tiny lift, but it's an old building, so we were happy there was a lift
The location was great, the staff were all lovely. Our food in the restaurant was really good ... the apple strudel was amazing.
The pillow was really flat ... perhaps an extra pillow
Location great. Staff friendly.
Very dated rooms, poor breakfast, not possible to get a proper coffee, although machine is there. My teen son had a foldable camping bed..For 400euros a night, expected better..Defo a low 3
Location, Breakfast and staff
Room was small
Excellent location and atmosphere. Good cuisine and a cozy bar. Lovely staff.
A very spacious apartment with a living room, kitchen, and bedroom, quietly located in the rear building of the Altstadt Stadskrug.
Minor detail, there was no contact with staff, not even by email. It comes across as somewhat impersonal.
A really lovely hotel in a great location. Really handy for shopping and restaurants. Also easy to get to tourist locations. Just behind the hotel there is lovely walk up to a church where you can get great photos of the city from above.
I like everything.
