Pros +
- Great beds, spacious lockers and an awesome bar
- Great budget accommodation an easy walk from the train station and the city center tourist sites. They had private as well as shared rooms. (My friend and I chose a private room.) The room was spacious and clean and had a sweet balcony overlooking the courtyard. There was a dedicated room to store our luggage before check-in. The lady at reception was kind and helpful. They provided free transport tickets that were really helpful the one time we did use the bus. They played "The Sound of Music" in the general area, and people actually sat and watched. They provided complimentary shots, which my roommate took advantage of. The communal atmosphere of a hostel is fun.
- Really enjoyed the location to centre of town, check in was easy and place was very comfortable.
Cons -
- Showers are a bit clogged
- I didn't read the fine print about us needing to strip our own sheets or to pay extra for towel use. Neither was a problem--just be aware. We opted to have breakfast elsewhere, so I can't comment on the breakfast.
- The kitchen seems a little under equipped given the amount of people that stay.

Great stay! Comfortable bed and awesome private lockers. Convenient location. And Super friendly staff.
The only food option at hostel is pizza :/
The location is quiet. The whole place is big enough.
There was a guy playing crazy loud music at 5 am and no staff went to stop him. All the people on my floor were up and furious. It was not a cheap place to stay and we need to take our sheets out when we leave. So what are we paying for?
YoHo was such a chill, welcoming, and easygoing hostel, and it ended up being one of my favorite stays in Salzburg. The social atmosphere felt very natural and it was easy to meet people, but never overwhelming. Everyone I interacted with was kind, relaxed, and genuinely friendly.A huge highlight was the free public transportation pass included with the stay, which made getting around Salzburg incredibly convenient and budget-friendly. It honestly felt like a gift.I also loved the little touches that made YoHo special, especially how they play The Sound of Music every night, which felt so fitting and added such a cozy, fun Salzburg charm to the experience. The hostel itself was comfortable, clean, and well-run, and it was a great place to both unwind and socialize. YoHo strikes that perfect balance where you feel taken care of without things feeling rigid or impersonal.I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Salzburg who wants a relaxed, friendly, and memorable hostel experience.
No curtains on the beds, so no privacy.
I love it , the staff was so friendly and the setup of the place is so good
Nothing the one thing that i can say is that they have to state that they give an all day ticket transportation so no need to buy another one
We had a private double room with an ensuite and balcony. It exceeded our expectations as was much roomier that the pictures showed and we were not expecting a balcony. It was better than some hotel rooms we had. The beds were comfortable and linen was fresh. You did have to pay a deposit on the towels Euro 5 each; but got it back when you left and handed the towels in. Shower was good pressure and water was hot. Plenty of room for two large suitcases. Breakfast was adequate with fruit, yoghurt, juices, coffee, tea, salad, cold meat, cheeses and pastries. Wifi worked well and we enjoyed the common area and bar in the evening. Heating worked well and lift was handy. Its located a good 7-10 minutes walk from the old town.
Check in was strictly 2pm and you were told to go wait in the bar area until that time. Even if you got there five minutes early. Then you lined up and got handed a form to complete, then lined up again. Most of the staff on the reception counter were NOT friendly and looked like they hated their job. The man who worked the desk the evening of the 12 December and a couple of other times was the only reception staff member who smiled and was happy to help with any queries. The bar staff were friendly.Would have got a 10/10 if check in staff attitude improved.
It can be good only for one night stay
The toilettes are very dirty. Lack of toilette paper. Shower are shared. Which I found not hygienic at all
Location was fantastic only about 10-20 minutes from anywhere in the city! The bed rooms were clean. Downstairs common area was inviting and friendly. When we went there was happy hour everyday from 18:00-20:00 which was great! And invokes more social interactions.
The main thing we didn’t like that much was the lack of cleaning throughout the week. The poor cleaning lady was doing the whole hostel usually by herself. So the hostel over the course of a week could get a little gritty at times. (This was mostly only in the bathroom/showers) If they just cleaned more than once a week it would probably improve this! Additionally, the WiFi doesn’t work on the second floor at all which was an bummer. Other than that it was a very nice stay!!
-In house bar with drinks, food. Bar staff really nice.-beds were comfortable-decent size room for 4 women.
-Bathrooms needed more cleaning with the number of people using, both men and women.
I love the style of the hostel, it was cozy and warm. The bedroom is great with huge lockers, and sink, which is very convenient.
The kitchen was small and only equipped with two microwaves.
Great location, close to train station and city centre. Staff were kind and helpfull. 1 free shot at the bar and they gave free public transport ticket.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Clean common area, quiet location and room was quiet. Price was good for what we had. Breakfast was good enough to start the day and I felt 8 euro was a fair price.
It’s a small thing but even just one handtowel in the bathroom would be nice. After travelling on trains and pulling luggage cleaning our hands was essential. Having to use toilet tissue to dry our hands felt wasteful.
The hotel location is excellent ! Walkable distance from train station and also to city center where all tourist attractions are located, staff are very very friendly and they all can speak English fluently which is ideal if you have some questions or recommendations on how to go to different places. The rooms are reasonably sized and clean, they clean every day the rooms and the common areas. I highly recommend it to all Salzburg travelers
Can't fault it, everything was perfect
It’s very close to bus station and the city center
It’s not clean , the toilets needs periodic cleaning schedule to be acceptable. Rooms are so tight
The location of the hostel is very practical and close to the main station. The staff is very friendly and are available at all times.Breakfast was pretty good for the fee, and it was great that there was coffee and tea available at all times. The common areas were comfy as well. I wish the hostel bar was open until a bit later. The bed was comfy and sheets had a nice quality. Towels can be rented on spot. 6-bed room was very spacious so it does not feel packed.
Not a complain, but rather points to improve:Price should be lower and more backpacker friendly. The toilets could have been cleaner. The hostel could organize some more activities or give the opportunity for more interactions: let's say, organizing a meet up on Friday or Saturday evening in the bar so that solo travelers can interact and know other people are willing to interact and go out together as well. This is a common practice in other hostels around the world.
Good location. Generally clean. 24h reception. One free drink at the bar and great happy hour price for a beer.
Need to pay extra for a towel. And the “bathroom” in my single room was only a shower, toilet is shard on the floor. Soundproof wasn’t that good.
Overall nice hostel to stay. Good location, friendly staffs. Only if one of roommates didn’t snore so loudly…
Great location, nice staff, comfortable common areas.
Some men were sleeping in the TV room and using the kitchen sink to take care of personal hygiene one night during my stay. I found this to be unsanitary and disrespectful of other guests in the hostel. Other than that, it was a good stay.
