Pros +
- Location was excellent for access to the Christmas markets. Warm and helpful staff. Very comfortable bed. The courtyard looked very inviting but it wasn't the season to enjoy it! Breakfast area, lounge, hallways, rooms all impeccably clean.
- Theo was a great help and good person to talk and very very professional to guide us about restaurants , time , areas , and a lot more about the town !!!
- Lovely location
Cons -
- We tried to park our car in the hotel's lot across the street. We rented the smallest car that we could at the Strasbourg railway station - small Peugeot. However, by European standards, it wasn't small enough and we couldn't fit it without multiple stressful T turns. So, we parked in the public lot, about a 10 minute walk. Given that it was the holiday, it was at times difficult to find a spot there, but we were ultimately able to each time we returned.
- To don’t have a little flexibility about the check -out time , is available but at certain cost , it is first time that we face it ! Traveling around the world for us it is the first time that the hotel is not flexible with one hour late check out !!
- Or room was nice, the fridge was useful. The mattress sank in the middle, we complained after our first uncomfortable night, unfortunately the hotels response was to place a duvet under the sheet which didn't solve the problem. We didn't bother to complain further & just put up with the discomfort. I attempted to complain to the group who own the hotel but heard nothing. The only window opened into a foot path so we had to keep it closed but otherwise it was a nice room.

The staff at Le Colombier is exceptional. We received a warm welcome and our request for a top floor room was honored. The hotel and rooms are very clean, well-kept and modernized, but still retain the old-world Alsacien charm that defines Colmar. Our room was very quiet and comfortable, and had everything we needed for a great séjour. Breakfast was great and included a variety of options. I would definitely recommend Le Colombier and would be happy to stay here again.
Quaintness, cleanness, perfect location, and friendly attentive staff.
Room 57 is on the 3rd floor with no elevator, which is not suitable for us. Going up and down a few times a day, causing me muscle cramps. Also, the glass tolit door is not good..
Perfect location. Staff spoke English
Bed was hard as a rock. Didn’t get the room we booked. Staff didn’t tell us how to get in the second building.
Location
There was no room dining. They did not refill minibar. They did not change the towels even we put on the floor. They took it from floor and hang to the hanger in bathroom as if it fall down by mistake :) really not easy to understand. Everybody knows very well that if any towel is at floor this means “ please change it it is dirty”. When we check in ; staffs told us that if we need renew the coffee for coffee machine we can call reception; after tht when we call reception for it ; they told us we need to go to take it ( it was day time not middle of the night )
Location was perfect, steps from little Venice and all of the attractions. The staff were very welcoming and very helpful. Reserve a very convenient parking spot if you have a car
Absolutely nothing
The location of the hotel is undeniably excellent if your trip objective is the Christmas market —central and just a 15-minute walk from the train station, with easy access to the Christmas market and the main canal.
Our experience at this hotel was disappointing and far from what we expected based on the photos. We were given a room at street level, and unfortunately, the windows were not noise-insulated. We could hear every conversation and even shouting from pedestrians throughout the night, making it nearly impossible to sleep. The noise wasn’t limited to the street—thin walls and floors meant we could hear the residents above us flushing their toilet and having conversations. For the price of €750 per night, we expected much better. While we understand the premium pricing during the holiday season, the quality of the room did not justify the cost. The bed was uncomfortable, squeaky, and added to the overall sense of dissatisfaction. This stay left us feeling overcharged and let down, and we wouldn’t recommend it to others.
Fantastic location, very clean hotel with superbly spacious rooms. We had a lovely 3 nights at the hotel. Rooms were serviced every day. The breakfast was expensive—we opted to find cafes nearby. Staff were friendly
The location is ideal and close to the centre, it has a small amount of car parking spaces which you can book but the spaces are very tight. The rooms were great and very clean. The reception staff were all very friendly and helpful.
The location of the hotel is perfect, in the centre of Colmar so everything easily reached on foot.We had one of the suites located in the rear of the hotel next to the canal and was very quiet and private.Nice little garden to sit in if you want a break from walking around Colmar. We could not get parking at the hotel itself but a cheap multi storey car park was only an 8 minute walk away.
No complaints.
Spotless cleanliness, very friendly and welcoming staff (spoke English as well!) at the reception. Rooms offer all comfort needed, lovely small accessories available in the room (e.g. shoe polish) which were highly appreciated. the garden of the suite offered a moment of calmness in the hectic of the touristic town. would stay there again.
coffee at the breakfast (a lot of room for improvement, ok for low Standards but not for coffee lovers) and the limited option of fresh fruits at the breakfast
Lovely room, perfect location and friendly staff
LocationLarge suite and very clean
Fantastic, copious, premium ingredients. The croissant was fantasctic. Perfect tea selection.
Everything was perfect. It was hard to find the suite according to the google, but, after we found the reception (it was in another building), the staff was extremely kind and helpfull! Thanks for it!
Size of the room was excellent, location was very helpful and convenient, room was proper size and services were excellent
Location, decoration and helpful reception
This is in the perfect spot! We were in the suites and it was very private and cozy. Just beware of stairs if stairs aren't good for you.
Breakfast was plentiful. A wonderful selection of breads and croissants. We enjoyed your coffee machine brewing some beautiful selections. My only complaint is that the warm food items were pretty much cold or lukewarm, and we had breakfast at 7 AM.
I just had foot surgery, and it would have been great to know that the bathroom was located in the loft. The room was certainly very unique, and the shower was wonderful. Going up and down with a painful foot was not so great.
