Hotel Metropol

I selected this hotel because I needed multiple easy access to the train station. The hotel met this need very well, a 5 minute walk (if you walk fast like I do). The breakfast, included in the room price, was very nice.

I did not know that the reception closes at 6pm. On my arrival day when I arrived at 7pm, the receptionist was a bit annoyed because she had to wait for me. She called and left a message telling me 6pm, but I was unreachable. My original plans were later.

Positive Price-Value Relation

A bit to walk to city center. No breakfast (but that was transparent and no surprise). What was really annoying was, that I had an important teleconference but WiFi was so bad that it was impossible to participate.

Check-in and check-out was smooth and easy, room design was very well thought out, bed and pillows were very comfortable, quiet, great value for the money! This hotel certainly seems new, nicely renovated. Would absolutely stay here again.

The self checking was very easy. Detailed instructions were sent 1-2 days before. The room was small but extremely well equipped, including a fridge, a coffee machine with plenty coffee pods, water heater, toiletries.

The elevator stopped on the 2nd floor. I couldn't find out how to make it go to the 4th floor. I had a large suitcase.

Well appointed room, comfortable bed, very clean, large bathroom with good lighting, thick towels & hot water.

She was very nice, showed us how to use the elevator, pointed us to our room, explained how to leave the key in the room when we left. If she hadn’t been there it would have taken us MUCH to get to get situated.

Quiet sleep hotel, good for multi day stay where all day I was out on business at university complex elsewhere uptown.

The hotel is located across a road and rail artery, next to a parking garage. This is good on arrival and departure, when you walk from city centre to hotel, 10 minutes, you cross the main road by a staircase/overpass. You have to be fit to do this.

We had a family room, it was spacious and well designed in terms of layout and facilities and was also modern and very clean. Check in was easy and the car park was next door. It was a short walk to the town centre. The manager or staff member we spoke to in the morning when leaving was extremely helpful

Nothing. There are no facilities for breakfast but we are in the town which has lots of great options

Appalling customer service. Despite several emails informing them we were coming by motorbike, we parked up and received a very abrupt and rude call, demanding we moved the bike immediately. I asked for help but was told she didnt know and it was very difficult and we needed to sort it ourselves. Absolutely no help provided, and it took us over an hour to park as everywhere was parking permits. Parked in a very unsafe place, so had a restless worrying night. We were promised parking was provided. If you want a completely faceless, unhelpful experience, then this is the place. If anything goes wrong, you are totally on your own. I would avoid at all costs and stay near the old town

Rooms were big and spacious enough. We actually had a nice view. Beds were quite big and it was just a pleasant place to stay at in order to discover Tübingen.

Sleeping sofa in the living room wasn't particularly comfortable and it was quite noisy when changing aleeping position at night.

Really nice staff, very friendly and informative. Beautiful big room with a nice terrace to have breakfast on.

Couldn't shut the curtains properly as the curtain rail was a bit broken and air con would have been a nice addition, but the fan worked well as a substitute.

Spacious bedroom & bathroom, well-designed storage/open wardrobe, coffee machine & kettle, no a/c but pedestal fan very effective on hot days. Reception staff friendly and helpful.

The toilet in our room 12 is very far off the ground (we’re tall but could not put our feet flat) which was uncomfortable for a 6 day stay.

The room is comfortable and very well equipped: the bed is comfy, roll shutter are room darkening, there is a small fridge as well as a water kettle and a coffee machine( with capsules). The bathroom is modern, even though it is small (one at a time, please)Please note: this is strictly for an overnight stay, and no breakfast is available. Bonus for travelers: it is in walking distance to the railway station.

The location is not that easy to find: the hotel is in a parking house. The entrance is around the corner of a Chinese restaurant, but you will need a code to use the elevator, as the hotel is located on the third floor. If you do not have the code, you will have to call the hotel.For guests arriving after dark, this can be frustrating and very inconvenient. We arrived during the day. With us a group of travelers arrived who were trying to reach the reception, and they were clearly frustrated, since there was no help first, and the elevator did not run. They took their suitcases and hauled them up to the third floor. We have never seen such a situation at any hotel and found it totally unacceptable!

I was a bit surprised that the entrance to the hotel was on the 3rd floor of the building, but once I was up there it felt nice and cozy. I enjoyed everything except the pillows. I found it hard to sleep on them. Also the mattress wasn’t very comfortable. The communication via iMessage was very efficient. All in all, it was a good stay and good value for money.

It was difficult to find the instructions to enter the code to enter. Called the property twice(it was 7sh pm) and got no answer. The fridge in the room was so noisy that I had to turn it off to be able to sleep. I am a tea drinker and there was a kettle but no tea).

Bad

I couldn't enter my room and there was nobody there to help and nobody replied to phone call. I want my money back.
