Good B&B, clean rooms and nice breakfast. bus stop right in front of hotel and only 12 min to downtown and train station (tip buy daily ticket)
a bit of dated interior, restaurant closed
I had to stay in a hotel for two days because my bathroom was being repaired. The hotel was very clean, and the room was cosy and fully renovated. Breakfast was good, and the buffet offered all one needs to start the day.The street was served by three bus stops, and a supermarket is close by.
Room was immaculate, comfortable and had good ventilation. Ensuite was clean and the amenities provided were high quality. Did not manage to try the breakfast, but a 10.30am check-out time meant that I was in no rush to leave the next morning.
Location is ideal if you are coming from Stuttgart like I was, but is a good 50 minute walk into the city centre. Bus providers on the outskirts of Tuebingen seem to be more expensive. Irrespective of this fact, extremely high-quality hotel.
The bus stop drops you off right in front of the hotel. And there is a grocery store 100 meters away from the hotel.
Outdated and smelled like left over cigarette smoke from the 60’s.
Bad
I had a very bad experience. On Monday, December 2nd, I left the hotel, deposited my key at the reception, and went to the university. When I returned at 7:30 PM, the hotel was closed. I was shocked and realized that all my belongings were in my hotel room and I was locked out. I spent over an hour calling all the numbers I could find, trying to get a solution, but without success. Someone advised me to look for another hotel to stay in for the night and come back in the morning to retrieve my things. Because no emergency number to call. I started searching for a hotel, but without an internet connection, it was very difficult, and my phone battery was almost dead. All the hotels I found that were open were fully booked with no available rooms. I begged one receptionist at a hotel to help me with a phone charger and Wi-Fi password so I could find a solution. She kindly assisted me, but by then it was already 9:30 PM. As someone new to this city, it was extremely challenging to be in such a situation, especially since I don’t speak German. The Alte Krone Hotel has my contact information and they could have called me because they knew I had booked for two nights and that my room key was at the reception. This was definitely a bad experience, and I am considering filing a complaint and possibly asking for a refund due to all the inconvenience I faced. In the morning, when I returned and saw the same receptionist, he told me that my key should have been with me and that I needed to check out that day. However, it was him who took my room key in the morning without informing me. He knew exactly when I was supposed to leave, yet he didn’t call or communicate anything to me. I believe they were fully aware of what they were doing. This was a very disappointing experience at a bad hotel.
Check in, flexible attitude, allowed me to check in earlier than 3pm
better quality and greater selection for breakfast
The room is reasonable value for money. It is quite small with barely enough room for a couple of suitcases. WiFi wasn't working in the room but it was working in the restaurant. The breakfast was very good and parking was convenient. For the benefit of disabled people, I should mention there is no elevator. Location was reasonable with a few restaurants within walking distance. Town was about 30 minutes' walk away. Beds were comfortable. Shower and bathroom quite small.
Nothing really. It was as described.
The staff was friendly. The room was clean. The location was good, close to the bus stop. The breakfast was okay, the room served well for a one-night stay.
There was warm in the room, because there was no air conditioner.
Only the view
The owner was not polite, she yelled at me and sweared because I was late due to a delay I had with my flight . Ithought that because it was a hotel there was gonna be a receptionist. When I tried to contact her I couldn’t find her. Then my card was declined ( but everywhere else it worked haha) and I paid cash for the first night . She said that if I didn’t pay everything the next morning she’ll kick me out . The same dates a colleague stayed at the same hotel and he paid her at his last day . That seems quite weird . Also , she never brought me new towels , the milk from the breakfast had gone bad and another one also told her about it. 0/10 worst experience I’ve ever had

Dirty toilet and dirty bed
Parking on site, fast check-in and check-out
I did not feel very welcome and comfy, facilities are a little run down, breakfast was basic.
The room was clean, while it's size was small, but manageable for a single room. The personnel are friendly, but did not speak English.
Very constrained hours of check-in, which does not help. They explicitly constrained checking in until 8 pm, which is one of the few properties I have stayed on which have so many constraints in checking-in. Check-out is also early. Once I arrived in Tuebingen, I went downtown (you need a bus for that). Then, I returned at ~9 pm and the external door was locked. Unbelievable that the key did not work in the entrance, and it was not mentioned what to do. I sent message through booking, but received no response.
It is a good hotel for the price you pay. Rooms are silent, and beds are comfortable. Furthermore, everything was clean. There is only an issue with the Wi-Fi, which does not work correctly in my room when I have to make a video call. Even asking for the staff to reset the internet device did not work. The breakfast is simple, but it is good.
The issue with the internet is annoying, especially if you have to make a video call. Moreover, it is a little far away from the central station, but the bus stop is not far from the hotel.
I loved the old building and the easy parking facilities outside. The windows were very nice and let in a lot of light.
Nothing to report. I liked it all.
The room was clean and served me well for a one-night stay. There are various bus stops and a supermarket a very short walk from the hotel.
Check-in closes quite early, which may make it challenging if travelling a long distance. The WiFi was largely fine but my room was far enough away from the router to struggle to pick up a signal in bed.
Dirty bed sheets
We discovered that the bed sheets were in an unacceptable condition, marked by black spots, dried liquid traces, and hair. This situation rendered the beds unusable for a normal night's sleep, forcing us to use our clothes to cover the dirt.
Pleasant
Said air conditioner but could not feel it. Few restaurants in area
