    • The staff set this hotel aside. Part of the reason we always return to the Greek Islands is the hospitality but the staff at Vigla have taken that to the next level. Nothing was ever a problem, everything was done with the utmost professionalism all while maintaining a friendly, family feeling. I would recommend this place to anyone and guarantee it will make your holiday better. Huge thanks to all the staff looking after us. That includes picking us up at the Aegali port , looking after us at breakfast each morning, booking us a hire car at very short notice, right to our 5am transfer to Katapola for the early ferry. (We were even given a take-away breakfast the night before to keep us going.) I can't fault any part of our stay. The food is great, the bar is great, the hotel should be on your list!
    • Breakfast, location, staff, room
    • Beautiful, great location, and very kind and friendly staff. One of the staff members went over a whole map of the island with us to show us the best spots and help us plan our few days there!

    Cons -

    • Liked everything
    • Nothing, there is currently a shortage of shade but that is being rectified shortly
    • If you want to be close to the beach you can’t just stroll there because the hotel is up the mountain, about 30 minutes walk down to the town and beach ( Taxi down in 2023 was 5 euro each)

We had an excellent stay in Vigla hotel. From the moment you step through its doors, you’re enveloped in a warm, family-like atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at ease. The staff genuine friendliness and attentive service created a feel of home. The rooms are a nicely decorated and impeccable. The breakfast is a spread of homemade delicacies, grown and made by the different family members - very yummy! Amorgos has beautiful beaches but if you wish to relax , the pool area overlooks the bay - chairs and towels are available. Thank you to the complete staff of Vigla - we had a great time !

The hotel staff was amazing. They helped us to find trips, hikes and hidden beaches we could experience. They were very helpful with everything, and was always nice and friendly to talk to. The cleaning personelle was exceptionally great (never experiences anything like that before). The food in Vigla Resturant was so good that we had to spend 2/3 evenings eating there (Moussaka recommend, recommend), and the view from the restaurant/hotel was beautiful. The pool area is super relaxing and nice, and the athmosphere in general was very relaxing and soothing. Thank you so much. We will be back. (and it doesn't matter that it is a bit away from the city center, you will not regret Vigla).

The hotel was very well maintained and clean, comfortable beds, lovely rooms and we had a great view. The location is good , and altho the village is quiet there is a choice of tavernas all with tasty food. The hotel food was also very good. We had a car which was useful to get up and down to the port below. Tho the hotel do provide a taxi service . In the port there’s lots of choice of restaraunts and the beaches are nice.

Nothing, there is currently a shortage of shade but that is being rectified shortly

Beautiful location by a charming authentic village, fabulous views of the mountains and the bayThe walk to the beach is steep, but you can get a ride from the hotel easily Or walk down and get backFood amazing Staff polite, professional and very friendly

Staff, cleanliness, rooms, facilities and breakfast were all great.

I believe the hotel is a bit pricey.

    - The rooms were super clean and nice. The rooms were very quite at night.- The view over the church was amazing.- The homemade breakfast was very good.- All the staff were quite nice. Especially the managers.

    - The pool opening at 10:00 is very late when you have children.I understand that it is for everyone’s tranquility but maybe 9:00 or 9:30 would be nice.

We had the most magically 3 night stay at Hotel Vigla. From start to end everyone who works at the hotel will exceptional! The matriarch of the family is heading the kitchen and serving up delectable delights using the freshest ingredients from their family garden. The breakfast which is included in your stay was the best I have had at any hotel. Varied and interesting with local dishes and home baked goods. The location is ideal for day hikes to other small villages and also to the port and beaches. The only problem with Hotel Vigla is that at one point you will need to say goodbye. We will be returning next year!!

    That I had to leave ; (

I booked this property because of the pool, and because the rooms are modern and comfortable. I did manage to get a few swims in, despite the poor weather, and the pool was just the right length and depth to do some (short) laps. I stayed at the hotel at the end of April / beginning of May, so the hotel restaurant was only offering a few simple dishes for lunch and dinner - mousaka, pastitsio, fava, goat stew, etc. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend that you rent a car so you can go to Aegiali for additional lunch and dinner options, and so you can explore the rest of the island. Chora, about 20 minutes away, is particularly charming.

This comment is more about the hotel's location in Tholaria. When I'm traveling, I usually like to buy beverages and snacks at the local super market. I didn't realize that there isn't one in Tholaria. The closest one is in Aegiali. However, there is a cafe/restaurant in Tholaria that has a mini market inside where you can buy some essentials. On Google Maps, look for Χορευτής cafe-παντοπωλείο-restaurant. To get to it, walk up the main steps into Tholaria, keeping the church to your right. After about 25 steps you will see Sea Dream and a small cafe on your left and another small cafe on your right. Keep walking up the steps past them and walk a bit further until you see an archway. The Χορευτής cafe-παντοπωλείο-restaurant is just past the archway. There is a small doorway on the right that looks like it leads into the kitchen. Go inside, even if the locals are looking at you strangely. They're just surprised you know about the mini market. Inside, immediately to the right, there is a cooler where you can find cheese, milk, cold beer, etc. If you turn left there are some bins with fresh fruit and veg. Past the fruit and veg is a small cave-like room with snacks, bulk beer, wine, bread, etc. You may need to ask them to turn the lights on so you can see (they keep the lights turned off to save energy). There is a till by the kitchen/doorway where you can pay. I'm not sure what payment options they have because I paid cash.

Fantastic location right at the entrance to the village. Enough parking spots. Extremely cheerful and service-oriented staff. Very clean. It is obvious how much care goes into maintaining the cleanliness and landscaping of the grounds. Restaurant has a great view, great food and is a good value. Bed was comfortable.

    No complaints!

This one was one of the best stays we had all over thr cyclade islands. awesome & very friendly staff, nice & very clean rooms and perfect facilities. amorgos is beautiful and vigla is the perfect accommodation! we loved it!

The highlight of this year’s summer holidays was our stay in Vigla Hotel. Over the years we have stayed in many hotels in Cyclades but we have never experienced such hospitality.Genuine nice team with a smile on their face and happy to assist with everything. We enjoyed a lot our stay in the newly renovated rooms (extremely clean and very nicely decorated), the breakfast buffet (full of handmade surprises and quality/tasty food) and the relaxing afternoons by the beautiful pool. Many thanks to all the team (reception/catering/management/cleaning/pool/transfer) for making our summer holidays special and relaxing. These days is very rare to find this level of commitment to good service in hospitality industry therefore we highly recommend it.

Very nice pool, good breakfast, a lot of hikes around, close to a port, port beach is nice

No way to go to any beach without a car (1h walk), on the bottom of the island so very far from the other end (1.30 by car) which makes traveling the island hard

    10MarcellaPosted on: 7-15-2022

beautiful comfortable accommodation with delicious breakfast and very helpful staff. The location was quiet and with stunning views. Very close to several beautiful beaches and great restaurants. We had a rental car, which meant we could visit all over the island. all of the recommendations from staff of places to see and restaurants were fantastic!

    nothing, it was without fault.
