- The rooms were comfortable except for the beams in one of them.
- Gorgeous hotel, set in an old building yet fully renovated with every possible modern comfort. The sublime ceiling painting above our room, added a touch of character to our stay in beautiful Heidelberg!Breakfast was outstanding! Staff was carefully attentive to our needs. The property is perfect for your stay in Heidelberg, within very short walking distance of everything. Parking is extremely easy, in the hotel’s own parking garage below.Would most definitely stay here again without hesitation!
- Room was spacious and comfortable. Location to downtown Heidelberg--and the Christmas markets--could not be beat!
Cons -
- There was no hotel restaurant or room service.
- Can’t imagine anything we didn’t like!
- We have no complaints. Just wish the staff had been more flexible in letting us have a late checkout. We even offered to pay an additional fee for a few more hours.

The location was nice. Away from crowds but close to the pedestrian walkway, shops and restaurants. The parking area is private and located at the hotel. Overall the staff was friendly but not always at the reception area.
I also paid extra to have a seating area. The pictures of the suite I reserved displayed a sofa in the room. I received a simple plastic chair in the suite. Completely overpriced and false advertising. The rooftop was closed although they advertised it extensively for new years all because of light snow sprinkles. Could have easily been swept away. There was no snow on the rooftop yet they closed it due to the danger of slipping. Then they must close it when it rains too or strong winds. I stayed for three days and although the bar was open only beer and wine would be served since they had no bartender. The bar is advertised to close at 1 A.M. but the lights were shut off on us and others at the bar area at midnight on consecutive nights. The heat in the room was subpar and cold for our extended stay. Only found a small throw to use to keep warm. The bathroom does not have a regular door. It’s a glass door that offers no privacy and kept opening on its own due to it being on an angle that kept it from keeping closed.
Location was great - close proximity to the main walking street but also not close enough to get noisy. Breakfast is a highlight with open buffet + ability to choose from the menu as you like. Room and bathroom was quite large.
I booked a room for 2 adults and 1 child. The information on the page indicated that my child (6 years old) will have a place to sleep in the price I booked. However, there were no additional beds/sofas for her (option to add a bed was almost 40 Euros). I think this can be explicitly indicated while booking.
The location is perfect The room is very modern and spacious The room is clean and kept cleanThe private parking
Breakfast is a bit dullNot a lot of options
We had too short a stay but enjoyed the hotel. Very interesting contemporary design in a classic building. Our loft room was very large, clean and functional. Parking under the building was convenient and accessible.
Great location in the old city, very close to the funicular station to the schloss, garage parking guaranteed with a reservation, large modern appointed room, excellent breakfast, helpful staff, clean hotel.
Nothing comes to mind.
A well done preservation of an old building. Stylish and comfortable rooms. SuperB location. In the parking garage is a bit tricky to park, nevertheless you have one?
Everything was very clean and close to the center of town. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They even helped us mail our postcards home even though they didn’t have stamps on site. We paid for the stamps, and they said that they would get them mailed out. Great service!
We really enjoyed everything!
Location, hotel historical & modern mix, room, friendly staff
The air conditioning wasn’t working, during very hot weather
Really helpful front desk staff, explaining everything I needed to know. Fantastic location right next to the Old Town and the bus stop to the station. Lovely clean room with a peaceful view.
Can’t think of anything!
Beautiful property, room had a very cool design and very clean and comfortable and had a luxurious simplicity , staff was helpful. Location is great, right by Alte Stadt and university. Love the design of the building, old joined with new.
-AC could only be set to 23C and so it got stuffy at night bc it was noisy to keep our windows open at night (also bc we wanted the drapes closed) .-minor issue but daily housekeeping didn’t always tidy up towels and things which seemed odd (ie wet hand towel not replaced or tidied up)-breakfast had a decent selection but a few things were not replenished often (I’m sure we could have asked)
Arthotel was recommended by friends living in Heidelberg (we initially booked at a more luxurious hotel in the newer part of town, but glad we changed). We really appreciated the location - perfect for exploring the old town. The hotel was clean and thoughtfully designed with all the essentials. The service was excellent. Would definitely recommend to others.
Pricy but nice staff & place
No small refrigerator available in the room
The country is beautiful. Most staff very friendly. Quick response time to the need of an iron.
No fridge.
Great location and well designed facility with good breakfast
Excellent location a short walk to the old bridge, secure parking, friendly and fun/informal service, huge comfortable rooms, great range of amenities, lovely bathroom/shower. Cannot think of anything I would suggest to improve.
We book 3 rooms for 3 couples , but the staf gave us single bed (90 cm x 200cm).
Bad service!!
The hotel is centrally located. The room was very quiet and beds were very comfortable. Staff of the hotel was friendly and helpful.
