    Pros +

    • Area is best in city in terms of places to eat/drink and safety. Staff very willing, helpful to make things right & help me w/questions about area, arrange rides. Free Wi-Fi throughout. Ask for magnificent city views. Grocery store across street.
    • The location is very convenient and the rooms are quite spacious
    • Hotel grounds were beautiful. Very impressive reception and the panoramic lifts overlooking were amazing. The room was spacious with a lovely city view, a large and comfortable bed and shower room was large with very good shower.

    Cons -

    • Rooms are clean but basic by U.S standards. 2-room suites not worth it, basic, old & tired. Get regular room w/wood floors, not carpeted like suites. Regular rooms don¿t have smart tv¿s. Not great business center but front desk printed something for me.
    • The elevators are outdated and keep malfunctioning. Also the rooms could be renewed.
    • Furniture is outdated. The safe in the bedroom was old and required a key. The hotel rooms need a bit of updating but it is a good hotel.

We booked 10 nights in this "hotel" therefore this is a comprehensive review. Only good things here are the awesome breakfast and the garage with smiling and helpful guys.1. Check in was the first red flag as we were asked to pay the whole amount in advance and that really felt out of place in a (supposedly) 4 star hotel2. One elevator was out of service for the entire duration of our stay: only one elevator in service for 18 floors3. We were lucky enough to be on the 4th floor so we used the stairs on a regular basis, even if that meant everyday going thorugh rubbish, carts, boxes and food leftovers. Never seen hotel stairs in such a bad shape4. Bed sheets were changed only ONCE and that should be illegal. We know that for sure as I had a little wound in the right ear on the first day so we were wondering how many days would pass before they would actually change the bed sheets. When we complained, we were told that we didn't put the dedicated tag on the bed in order to ask for a change (not true of course) and how is that even possible in a 4 star hotel?5. Cleaning staff is not professional, we had to ask three times for the right amount of towels and they will give you only one face towel per room anyway6. The suite was out of the 80s and a scam. City view? Just a rooftop. Kitchen? No dishes, no pots, no pans. Absolutely useless. Bathroom? No beauty kit, no glass for toothbrushes, mold in the bath tub. Air conditioning? Only on/off and freezing cold that meant switching it on and off every 30 minutes in order to survive7. Swimming pool just for decoration, we understood that as soon as we saw a hose to fill it.8. We decided to make two nights on the seaside and we asked for a little discount, given their mishaps and the simple fact that they didn't have to clean the room for two days. Denied9.

The staff was so welcoming with my family and I. Some would speak English. The breakfast was delicious and offered good options to start the day full of energy. I really enjoyed the stay. I will definitely be back when visiting my parents.

    Everything was good.

My husband and I liked the location and the staff was friendly

We unfortunately encountered many issues during our stay! First of all, once we got to our room it was very dirty. It felt like the room wasn’t used for quite a while. The room had spider webs and termite wings all over the floor and bed (YES!). We had to ask the staff to come and clean the room/bathroom. Once that was done, we started hearing water sound and suddenly we have this huge leaking right at our door. The floor was covered in water, we called staff and they said it was due to an AC problem. They got us move the room. The next room was cleaner than the first, however the AC wasn’t working the whole night and note, it was summer in Brazil at that time. We had to open the windows to be able to sleep (we didn’t want to change rooms again since we would leave next day). Additionally, the room has the bare minimum and does not offer to much more than bed, tv and shampoo/soap. Very disappointing service and I would not return.

    7RafaelPosted on: 11-19-2024

Coffee, staff and amenities were good.

AC didn't properly work (only air was flowing, but not cooling), which was specially problematic as the nights were really hot.

Smartv on the room and breakfast

    Internet connection was very slow

Given the market for hotels in Novo Hamburgo, which is pretty limited, the hotel is still a decent option, despite its horribly outdated rooms. Breakfast was relatively good: a decent selection of fruit, yogurt and cakes, good coffee; the rest (juices, eggs, ham) pretty disappointing.

The hotel is in desperate need of refreshing: architecture and rooms are deeply rooted in the 1980ies spirit; the rooms are very old-fashioned and not at all well-kept; tiny bathrooms with old decor; cleanliness should be significantly improved. The breakfast area is cold and uncomfortable. The so-called swimming pool next to the breakfast area is simply a joke.

Breakfast was nice, nothing exagerated, but everything was fresh ans tasty

Unfortunatelly we were caught amidst renovations, so, there was noise during the day (although we didn't spend muche time there during work hours), but having only one elevator working most of the time was a bit annoying.

    7AntonioPosted on: 3-17-2024

This is the best hotel in town. Unfortunately they are renovating it. So before booking better make sure if all the works are done. In any case the quality is still good.

The poor english of the staff.

    2LammonPosted on: 11-20-2023

They had a best free wifi ever. I had very strong signal at all time. Front desk stuff were very nice.

It’s just so dirty feeling. Carpet was all so stained, bathroom door knob was broken, AC was working, but not really. So room stayed very dump and wet. Kitchen had nothing. No coffee maker, no plates, no cups, absolutely nothing. Breakfast is definitely not good as some reviewers said. Safe with broken lock shouldn’t called safe.

    8MiyabaraPosted on: 5-19-2023

Breakfast was great and the staff nice

It was a bit busy to get the elevator in the morning and at night (2 elevators seemed too little for the number of rooms)

    10RafaelaPosted on: 3-21-2023

The room was perfectly clean and tidy! People in the reception desk were attentive. The whole place is beautiful!

I couldn't smoke anywhere else but outside. That's the only thing I didn't like.I understand that the property is a non-smoking place but some people do smoke, it's the reality! So, I guess you could allow these people to smoke in some designed open areas.

Good spacious room beautiful view. Hotel with great structure.

Very cold inside, main lobby and breakfast place. Indoor pool and sauna not working. The restaurant and bar at the lovely fireplace closed… couldn’t enjoy the hotel facilities.

    6LucasPosted on: 2-8-2022

Great location. Nice view of the town. Spacious rooms. Staff was helpful. Probably the best place in town, but I expected more for the price.

Room had a kitchenette, but no cutlery, glasses, plates, etc. We had an issue that took a while to sort out with a sofa bed not being setup when we arrived. The hotel seemed understaffed. Breakfast was not very good.

    3KeenaPosted on: 12-15-2021

    Poor

Room was full of bugs on the floor, toilet and shower smelled bad, faucets hard to turn on and off, large stain on sheets, never got fresh towels.

    10BrianPosted on: 10-26-2021

Staff went above and beyond, and if you don't speak Portuguese (which I don't), they have a couple of staff members that speak English. The area was great, I walked a total of 7 miles around the area because of all the sidewalks and bike lanes, not to mention the nicest people too...

That the pool wasn't open, but not their fault, I blame it on COVID

    5AlexandrePosted on: 8-26-2021

    Regular normal breakfast. Nothing special.

Asked for hair comb. Hotel didn’t have one. But the room service was unfriendly and promised one that never reached me.
