Great Eastern Valley Residency

The room was clean, spacious and cozy. The view outside was awesome.The food was good, just like homecooked. The staff were very nice, especially Lamang a great guy, friendly and very helpful, always up with solutions for any kind of problem.

We booked a deluxe double bed room but were given a normal double bed room. We were charged the amount for the Deluxe double bed room. There was no access to television as mentioned in the booking site.Wifi connection was poor. The contact number provided for booking confirmation or for any other information was useless. Nobody answered the call, despite calling many times.

I like the manager/owner/caretaker very much. He is a young man who lives with his family at the property. He is very friendly, polite, and helpful.

The property was far from Gangtok city. I spent one night in Gangtok and booked my room here because I wanted to travel to North Sikkim the following day. The rooms were tiny but, of course, one of the cheapest. The breakfast was okay. The TV did not work. In Sikkim, all plug points seem loose for any regular mobile chargers.

The ambience was extremely beautiful. Amidst the beautiful hills of Gangtok. I wanted to stay there forever!! The staff was too good and helpful @ Mr. Lahang Limbu?

A little far away from the main centre. Had to spend 6 to 8 hundred per day just to and fro market area ? Extended my stay for another 2 nights from 30 Dec to check out on 01 Jan; but had to pay the same amount as for 3 nights.? Couldn't understand the logic by BOOKING.COM

The view from the hotel room is beautiful. The rooms are clean and spacious. The food served is decent.

I liked the staff , the cleanliness and the beautiful view and the food provided. Specially the terrace was a thing of beauty.

The only problem is that it was far from MG Marg and a little remote.

The room was comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful special Lahang and we had breakfast and dinner sandwich,Maggie ,paneer,dal,and aloo Paratha was very nice

Damp Room filled with fungus and smoke smell inside the room, bathroom being outside.

I visited last february, This residence is great to stay...Solo or Family.-Friendly and Responsible Host.-Room quality is great...Prepared, Clean with hot bath facilities)-Cold weather but no problem...They served hot and delicious Food.-Excellent view Morning, Day & Night.As a traveler you can find almost every facilities.

But there have one problem,If you are a solo traveler or with family, If you want to visit the local area and want to feel the local vibe by walk without local, Then "Be Careful" you will face a problem with DOGS. Almost all over the area dogs were very aggressive and i don't know why there master didn't teach them how to behave with guest...I was just walking...and sometime stand to take rest to reach the hotel because the hotel is too high to go by walk... by that time i faced to many dogs some with master and some are not...i was shocked...it was frighten... I don't know how to love again dogs...because,I am also a dog lover person but when i visited there i was surprised about dogs behavior...There master should take some responsibility by train them...how to behave with guest...Otherwise guest will never come second time...

Really liked the staff. Especially Lahang. He was of great help whenever we asked him for assistance. And also had really professional yet friendly behavior. Would like to suggest the place as it is in good hands.

The views are amazing, the rooftop is a great area and the food was nice.

The staff were not super helpful and refused some simple maintenance required in a room.

I liked the staff and the food, the View from the rooftop and the Common rooms were also very nice.

The room i Had Had No natural light, so it was pretty depressing for me, but it was also very cheap so i can't really complain

perfectly situated for a great view of the valley. Close to view points of Gangtok as well as on the way to Nathula pass, avoids traffic congestion. Delicious food, as that of home made.

We had a lovely stay in this hotel. The view from the hotel and the staff took all the points. Its a bit outskirts from the main city but didn't have any problem because we took sharing taxi from the hotel to mg marg

Best view in Gangtok overlooking the entire city and mountains from the rooftop. Extremely value for money private room and bathroom.Tasty, affordable food. Taxi is 200-400rs to MG Marg depending on the driver. It takes a fifteen minute drive max, don't believe the other reviews saying that it takes thirty. Have to be careful as if you walk instead of taxi the street dogs are very aggressive towards strangers on the way and almost bit me.

Laundry consisting of 7 pairs of underwear and socks, 5 shirts and 2 pants and a small towel cost me 1000rs which is the most expensive laundry in my entire life in over 20 countries and hundreds of hotel and guesthouses. 50rs per piece with no distinction between a pair of socks and a shirt.
