Hotel Ancora

Very Nice hotel on the lake with GREAT staff and excellent breakfast choices!

It was a beautiful hotel, located right at the lake. The rooms were very clean, spacious and had all amenities we needed. We also booked a lake view hotel, which we highly recommend. The view was breathtaking. The breakfast was tasty, there was a variety of foods to choose from, from baked goods to fresh fruit and vegetables, from sweet to savory. The room service was exceptional, the staff friendly and professional and the hotel felt safe and welcoming. It was rainy during our stay, so we spent more time in the hotel than planned, and were happy to have been in the Hotel Ancora, as it made those rainy days extra cozy and comfortable.

Our stay was superb! But there were noises that we could hear late at night and in the morning. Like steps, banging, moving furniture and slamming doors. Noises were from above us. It was just weird that we hear it regularly. It disturbed us most of the time especially in the morning when we want to sleep in. It was not just 10 minutes but it was for hours.

Wow! What a hotel. Everything was perfect. Spacious, comfortable and really nicely designed room. Great bathroom. A/C worked super well and very silently (I don’t take this for granted, even in 4* hotels). The breakfast was absolutely wonderful too. Staff was super friendly. Right next to the shore & Promenade, ferry terminal and city center.

The best thing is the breakfast which is substantial and the items are all close together (In some hotels you have to walk half the distance of the room to get one item, then walk back again to get the next). They also had huge slabs of dark and white chocolate for you to hack off and enjoy. You are just across the road from where the boats leave.

The only room left when I booked was a single room which did not have much of a window so not much light. The air conditioning unit was difficult to get to, I had to move the bed to do so and then found I couldn't change the temperature. There are these small niches for you to put things in but no drawers or hanging space. The room is small but the bathroom is large. All in all this is not a hotel room. It is a luxury bunkhouse where you keep your clothes in your luggage.

The team was excellent especially Andreas Only issue was the bar next door on our last night was extremely loud and we requested that the police be called to report a noise violation

Location was amazing - directly opposite the lake and ferry terminal , great restaurants and shops nearby. The view was absolutely stunning, the breakfast each morning was so good, so many options. Staff friendly and attentive. Really enjoyed my stay here.

Perfect location , the cleanliness of the hotel and the variety of food served during the breakfast.

We think that refurbishing is needed in terms of mattress in the bedroom. We complained about it the next day of our stay and they didn’t hesitate to change it .

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Ancora. The location is excellent, close to everything we needed. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. What truly stood out was the exceptional service — the staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help. Special thanks to Helena at the reception, who went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. Her warm attitude and attention to detail were truly appreciated. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel!

Everything was excellent! Welcome drinks, a little cake and dried fruit in room on arrival. The breakfast was outstanding! Guest were even taking photos!

The location was perfect to catch the ferry and with an amazing view of the lake from our room. Easy walk to many restaurants and supermarket. Staff were very helpful.
