- The hotel was good but showing its age a little (it's 60th birthday celebration was held during our stay). Hence, the decoration and internal fittings were 'period'.

The views over Lago Maggiore and across the Alps to Monte Rosa are truly spectacular. Over dinner at the restaurant the sunset was amazing and an enjoyable breakfast on the terrace was peaceful and inspiring. The trip up to hotel in the bucket lift is fun and once you have paid ten euros you can continue to use the lift while you are staying at the hotel. A real gem.
