Hotel Piazza Vecchia

Location, staff very helpful and kind, good breakfast

Needed to walk up stairs to lobby, but staff helped me.Difficult to control hot and cold in shower. And by the way don’t flush the toilet if your in the shower.

I have been to Bergamo Alta many times, and have had bad Airbnb experiences. The hotel is in an excellent location and the breakfast was excellent and the desk was very helpful. At breakfast the staff person offered to bring a cappucino to my room since I was tired, so kind.The area is so beautiful and safe, central to all Bergamo Alta has to offer.

I did request a quiet room in advance, and when I arrived they place me in a room on the street. At the desk the clerk did not fully understand me, but another traveler translated. And they did move me another room on the courtyard with a samll terrace and a mountain view!

The location is very good, extensive shopping, bars, restaurants, metro and trams are all nearby. We particularly liked the very helpful staff who will go out of their way to make your stay a pleasant one. The retro feel of the hotel is something that attracted us to this hotel. The atmosphere is delightful, and the rooms are spacious and very clean. For us it was a reminder how nice it is to stay in a hotel and get that personal service that was missing at the various Air BNB's we stayed at in other cities in Italy. We will be returning to the Teco Hotel when we come back to Milan.

Cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The staff is outstanding, the rooms are large and clean and the location is perfect for exploring the historic areas of this beautiful city. And, the breakfast was wonderful! We couldn't ask for more.

The only downside is we had to park our car off-site at a very expensive garage.

This is a wonderful priced hotel in the middle of Bergamo. Great friendly staff, great breakfast!!

As most hotels in Italy, I needed more mirrors and more hooks to hand clothes and towels.

Historic long straight and steep stairway to reception. I did see a stair lift machine and there is a handrail. We will stay there again.

Loved the location once we found it. Arrived in rain. With people in street with lots of umbrellas we couldn't see signs. You could walk everywhere from hotel.

This is on me not hotel but our room was on the street across from a restaurant and it was so noisy until midnight. I should have requested to be moved to back of hotel. Between noise and jet lag I barely slept while I was there.

Location was very close to all historical sites and best restaurants

Very steep steps from street, stoned to be personally carried up to reception. No place to relax , to read or have a drink. Cafe tables only

In the heart of the old city. Fabulous staff, very nice and helpful. They helped with arrangements for car transportation to Milan. Continental B’fast was good.

Classic room was on the noisy side of the hotel and the room was smaller. After one night they switched us to a deluxe room which was the much nicer and quiet. I wouldn’t recommend driving a car here at all. Better to come by taxi.

I did not know there was a flight of stairs to reach the reception. . The room was very nice and the staff were very helpful. It was in a very crowded location, but convenient.

The shower was very small.

The hotel was beautiful. Old but perfectly restored. The bathroom was so nice and the bed extremely comfortable.

The location was excellent, right in the middle of the Citta Alta but within easy reach by bus of the Citta Bassa and the train station. The room was large by European standards, and the bathroom was spacious and nicely renovated. The breakfast was the typical buffet type, and very good. The staff were great - pleasant and helpful. We recommend the restaurant across the piazza, Da Franco's, and also Il Sole (the hotel will give you a card for a 10% discount at Il Sole).

The wifi signal was weak. We would often have to go into the hallway to re-connect. The shower controls were unpredictable - both the temperature and pressure changed unexpectedly. From the pictures online, I was hoping more rooms had a terrace - only one did on our floor, and the occupants only used it to air their clothes...

Great location in the centre of the old town near Piazza Vecchia. Large room. Great breakfast with a good selection of fresh fruit.
