Best Western Citadelle Besancon

Located in a beautiful section of town and it was very quiet. The staff were really helpful and very polite. Will likely stay here again.

The shower was not hot enough and that could not be rectified for the one night of our stay

The room was great! The staff were very friendly and helpful. I also appreciated having a parking space. The location in the city center of Besançon is perfect.

The parking space was a bit small, but it was very convenient to have one. Overall, everything was perfect. I really appreciated the comfort, the cleanliness, and the overall quality of the stay.

Our rooms was on the basement. It was loud and everybody were walking right next to the window of the room.We are a couple and booked a room for two. we ask for one more coffe paf they said it is one coffee per room! I have never had such an experience even with very cheap hotel

Excellent staff, great location, rooms are comfortable, very comfortable bed. Continental type breakfast with good options. Self serving eating area. Option to have small appetisers and drinks in the reception area. Parking space limited, you must ask for a parking spot upon reservation. Otherwise, several parking lots are available at walking distance from the hotel.

We love the hotel, is relaxing, location is excellent. Nothing to dislike.

Our room was in an annex which had a bit of a Spartan feel

The hotel is situated very close to the old town near the citadel. It’s set back from the road so nice and quiet. We were unable to secure a parking space at the front of the hotel, but the staff directed us to nearby secure public parking. All the staff at the hotel were really helpful and friendly. The room was a really good size and extremely clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and they were able to offer gluten-free options.

Checkout was at 11:00 however the housekeeping lady was knocking at our door at 09:30 was not happy

The location was great, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

No parking available. The breakfast was just not worth the €16 per person. There was only one person to look after the guests. We came down at 8:30am and all the hot food had already been eaten. I asked about some more, but the person covering the breakfast was too busy clearing the tables and setting out fresh ones for forthcoming guests. It was just not good enough.

Disappointing stay. The hotel is aged and noticeably worn. The room was not clean, with multiple stains on the couch - we did not dare to touch it. Airconditioning was also very old and not working properly. Note that there is very limited parking space. Good to call in advance to check availability as we were notified that there wasn’t (after booking) when we were trying to reserve.

Adequate pitstop for us en route home. Pleasant reception, on site parking and clean, airconditioned room. It was Bastille day so quite a lot of bars and restaurants closed but we found somewhere which was good after a bit of a walk

Lovely location and great breakfast. First encounter with staff was great.

the first member of staff to greet us was lovely. The next encounter with a different person was less so. We were trying to connect to wifi and her attitude was ‘you were told before’. Well in fact we were not, and the first lovely lady confirmed that. But in any case, this not good customer relations as it would have been easy to just be helpful. Also in the morning, the noise outside from I assume an industrial type extractor fan was so loud even with the windows closed.

Cozy hotel in a quiet place, only 5-7 minutes walk from all the tourists attractions of the city. Nice and helpful staff.
