Mercure Fribourg Centre Remparts

Staff was friendly and professional. They upgraded me to Superior room without even asking me. I was offered a 2nd night at the same price. It was a quiet atmosphere. The staff was very professional, friendly and I felt very comfortable there. A great getaway!

It is quite close to city centre, rooms are noce and tidy, has coffee machine and mini fridge.

You can order food from hotel cafe but it is only microwaved, not freshly made, so we did not order there. The breakfast was fine

Great location with parking for our overnight stay. Very comfortable room, strong hot shower & generous, fresh, hot & cold buffet breakfast. We received a warm welcome from Reception staff & good advice about where to walk & eat that evening. Fribourg is a magnificent, historic city and we hope to visit again.

Good location between the Arena and the city center, all easily walkable.

Great room - clean and comfortable. Good location close to the old city. Excellent breakfast. Also possible to get a decent lunch / dinner. Fast WiFi for working efficiently.

Overall a hotel verging on good to excellent. A bit further from city centre than we wanted. Shame no restaurant operating in the evenings, but snacks were better than expected.

So much noise ! Terrible soundproofing!4 stars hotel just to hear the cars accelerating outside my window and driving me crazy untill 02.00 am. All these after I asked( before arriving, through separate message) kindly for a quiet room. Unbelievable. I have never stayed in a hotel where I couldn't sleep because of the noise. Very disappointing experience.

Excellent view of the castle from the room, a nice surprise in the morning after a late arrival

Parking included as per booking.com but none available on arrival - luckily a small carpark up the road for free overnight but had to be out before 7:30 or buy a ticket

The location is quite convenient, very close to the highway to Bern. The facilities were really good. The room was very comfortable, modern and clean. The breakfast was contundent. The staff is very friendly. I recommend this hotel without any doubt.

- Can't accept the 4 star rating. Definitely not.- Extremely ordinary breakfast. When you see a two toast toaster in 4* hotel then you know. Bare thin breakfast. - not at all value for money.

Our room was ideal—spacious, bright, quiet, and overlooking the historic city wall and the peaceful garden behind it. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was both functional and well-equipped. The breakfast area is magnificent, offering a generous buffet with a wide variety of products suited to all tastes and cultures. The reception staff were extremely friendly and efficient, handling every request and question with professionalism and kindness.

The only area that could be improved is the access from the parking to the reception, which is only possible via stairs. This might be inconvenient for guests with heavy luggage.

Very nice staff and nice room

The air conditioner in our room was on and it was not possible to adjust the temperature manually. The hotel staff did their best to help but it was not fixed at the end.The hotel entrance has a couple of stairs and not convenient for strollers or big luggage.

The hotel is very close to the city center and offers private parking. The staff is very kind and helpful. the room was nice, clean and comfortable: the espresso machine in our room was a very pleasant surprise. Highly recommended.
