    Pros +

    • Amazing service, great food at the restaurant, awesome view
    • Enjoying the comfort of a 5 stars hotel but at the same time being right above the lake especially with the high wind, waves was a beautiful experience.
    • Our child received attention and presents from the staff. The interior of the room / appartment was beautiful. The jacuzzi was fun.

    Cons -

    • The room was a little too warm at night despite the air conditioning. Other than that, everything was perfect.
    • The gym was a short walk from the main reception which in bad weather would not be so great. But that is my only complaint.
    • Some renovations could be done.

We stayed during a heat wave and consequently have a lake ensuite was fantastic. The rooms on the lake had screen door (in addition to the normal glass ones) so you could hear the lake wild life (birds etc) waking up in the morning. The views across the lake to the high peaks of the alps are fantastic.

The gym was a short walk from the main reception which in bad weather would not be so great. But that is my only complaint.

The location was amazing. We enjoyed having a dive in the lake from our room! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The fun part was going to the pavillon with a golf cart!

    Some renovations could be done.

The stay was wonderful, the staff very polite and available. Impeccably clean room with a unique view. Our 7 years old daughter loved the room and we'll definitely be back.

The room doesn't have 100% blackout. For people who are more sensitive to light, this can be a problem.

Location and rooms .Food good and an excellent breakfast.Staff attentive and friendly

For a hotel 5 star there was no gym on site or health spa.

The breakfast was very delicious with an array of choices. It was all very fresh. The dining area had a beautiful view of the lake. All very satisfying.

We didn't like that we had to leave! We would have liked to stay much longer!

Stunning Lake View, Free Kayak & Paddleboard Access, and Decent Room Size

Unclean Property, staff seems lack of training. Unresolved charge for unused services (overcharged drinks).

I have been planning to visit this hotel for quite some time, and I am happy the experience met my expectations. I strongly recommend booking the lake pavilion as it is very nice to wake up and go for a swim in the lake in the morning. The pavilion is spacious and well equipped. The bed and pillows comfortable.Breakfast selection was wide and the food was very good.I also recommend to book a massage - it takes place in your pavilion, so it is very convenient, and the massage therapist is really good - my back pain went away for several days!It was a nice touch - getting a tourist book with tickets to nearly all the museums in the area and free bus passes.Puddle boards are free for hotel guests - it is a must do activity when the lake is calm. And there are bikes to rent - we took it for an hour and the price was reasonable.

My husband visited this hotel for the first time nearly 10 years ago, so of course the rooms have some wear and tear, hopefully it will be taken care of and I will be definitely returning here.

This was my third visit to La Palafitte. It is the perfect getaway! The staff is always so friendly and accommodating. The location, food, and amenities can’t be beat!

The rooms are very nice and spacious, the restaurant makes good food.

The staff was not always at 5-star level.

Great location and clean rooms. Great services

Too many insects as they are on the lake

    8GaryPosted on: 5-21-2024

Rooms looked small from outside but were actually very big. Very relaxing being on the water

For the size of the bathroom the shower could have been a bit bigger. Also could have done with a blind so when in the shower you can keep your modesty

The front-desk staff were super pleasant.

I usually reserve one-star reviews for truly dreadful experiences, and this wa BAD, Couple that with the price we paid, and unfortunately, Hotel Palafitte qualifies with flying colors. Our stay was nothing short of a nightmare due to an unimaginable plague of mosquitoes and flies. Imagine trying to navigate through a dense, almost solid wall of flies just to grab dinner - that was our reality. The situation worsened back at the room, where the screen door was not able to be closed shut properly, turning our accommodation into a literal insect prison. The exterior blinds were thick with deceased mosquitoes, and the interior wasn't spared either, with dead flies, mosquitoes, and spiders. It was clear that the management hasn't taken any meaningful steps to control this severe pest issue, which is astonishing considering that this isn't a new challenge for properties located by the water. Other places we've stayed (in thailand, indonesia, and malaysia) have taken proactive measures like providing coils, insect repellant or sleeping nets, but here, there was nothing. NOTHING.Adding insult to injury, the room itself was showing significant signs of wear and tear. For the exorbitant price we paid, this level of upkeep is unacceptable. Although Hotel Palafitte might be tolerable during the summer months, I strongly advise against booking here in spring, autumn, or winter. This was, without a doubt, exceptionally poor value for money. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat, look elsewhere.

The hotel overlooks lake Neuchâtel with some lake view suites right on the water. Absolutely beautiful location and the staff were very friendly.

    10AndreaPosted on: 9-30-2023

Amazing location and design, everything was truly impeccable, loved it!

The only confusion was that our room was not directly on the lake (first row), as apparently when we booked they only had rooms left that were with a view to the lake (second row), but it was unclear from booking.com that those are not the ones on the pictures with direct access to the lake.

Great location on the lake of Neuchatel. Views of the Alps are always beautiful. Lot's of water activities like paddle boarding, kayaking are included in the price which is nice. A great little bar area along the water with some nice cocktails and wines to choose from.

Considering it's a 5* hotel, the service wasn't very slick. Some staff seemed overwhelmed and the food was also not so great. For the prices you're paying, it would have been nice to be tended to a little more.

Fact it was at a lake was nice.

In the Booking ad it stated I got a room where you can go down and swim in the lake. In reality I did not get the room. That is not good, as I booked it just for that reason. Getting something else you did not book, it didn't meet expectations in that sense. Also it was a bit overpriced the room that I got. Overpriced cocktails, no good taste. Nothing to eat at 22:00, even the bar is open, not a single stack. Starvation. Checking out took a very long time, needed to stay at feet for 15 minutes.
