Hotel La Balance SELF CHECK-IN

Owner was very helpful with our incomplete "self check-in" (seniors), very friendly staff, parking in the garage (fee).Great location 5 min. walk from train station, and 15 minutes to the very beautiful old town of Biel.

Easy check in / check out.Bed was OK, not too soft.Kettle in the room. Good location within the city.It's an old building but has a working lift.

No ventilator in the bathroom.Max parking on the street is 90min, which means you have to move your car at 8.30 in the morning or risk a fine I guess. I stayed one night so don't know what's the option for longer parking.

Easy entry, friendly staff, towels and soap provided, fan was helpful, water much appreciated, clean, shower nice.

English breakfast tea would have been nice

Location, convenience, clean

This is a renovated building with freshly remodeled rooms accessible by a modern good-sized elevator. Our room was large, everything was very clean and quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the TV got lots of channels. A small problem with front door code access was quickly resolved via a WhatsApp message to the host. We had no trouble using the elevator to bring our bikes up to our room.

There is a ground floor restaurant but breakfast was not available during our stay. While the self check-in is fairly straightforward, the reservation has an extra step: an emailed registration link that you use to pay the city tax and provide contact info. This is less convenient than a typical booking.com reservation.

Very nice hotel in a quiet area in Biel. The owner is very nice, the check-in procedure was seamless, and I could check in also at a later hour, at around 9 PM! The room was very clean and equipped with an electric water boiler for tea or coffee.

The location is perfect. It is close enough to the train station that walking is about 7 minutes. We chose the bus and it dropped us off less than a block from the hotel. The room is exactly as described. It was clean and everything worked. We enjoyed the balcony to sit a watch the area. The roll down shutters were nice since they darkened the room and made sleeping-in easier. There is a restaurant below. Breakfast is served there. It looked very nice but we didn't get a chance to stop in. The old area is a block one direction and shopping is about a block in the other direction. The hotel has been under new management and a new owner for a year. He is very friendly and has the enthusiam to keep the hotel as beautiful and better. The elevator was nice and useful especially when we arrived.

The hotel was very well situated at the city center and close to the old town of Biel. The room was very clean and the owner was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended and we will definitely visit again!

Noisy location, especially in the summer when the windows must be opened. Some cigarette smoke from below restaurant can drift in through the windows.

The location was right in the city center. Tye room size is very big with an amazing balcony view. The host is very warm and friendly and caring, making me feel like home. Definitely I will be a return guest.

Value! Our oldest lives in Biel. We visit often. Our previous lodging choice was significantly more expensive. The location is virtually the same, within 2 blocks
