    Pros +

    • a very decent hotel located in the city center, functional and decently equipped. Breakfast provided.
    • The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. My room overlooked General-Dufour-Str which was a little noisy from quite early. The breakfast was good and the staff frinedly over breakfast. I was a little disconcerted to find no-one at reception when I arrived, the receptionist was in the restaurant, apparently next door at first sight, although it is part of the hotel and it is wehre breakfast is served, but this is not apparent at first sight.
    • Great Staff, great position in the city centre, clean and comfy

    Cons -

    • The furniture is a bit dated but the pros make you not care, it's clean and cozy
    • We only had one bed sheet. There was very little space in the room. The room was old and falling apart. Bathroom and shower really need an overhaul. It's ok if you don't have a lot of expectations and just want a place to sleep. But I have seen much better for the same price in this area.
    • The bathroom needs renovation as fast as possible. There are mould spots all over the shower cabin. The ventilation is not functioning, so mold will spread further. One can see it in the cabin and on the ceiling.

The location was good and easy to find. There is a bycicle stand over the street, however the hotel itself does not have a way to store the bikes (other than paying for a space in the parking garage).Breakfast was ok, nothing special but good enough. The rooms were clean.

Breakfast, staff and proximity to railway station.

Good located place with nice breakfast

Although I was messaged it was possible I didn't get the requested double bed but two single beds. The bathroom wasn't really clean and some eggs at breakfast were pretty much raw. I also missed yoghurt for musli.

The room was very pleasant, clean, comfortable and had all the necessary facilities including its own bathroom with shower. The location of the Hotel Dufour was very good, in the town centre and near the old town. It was a pleasant 15 minute walk to Biel/Bienne railway station and there was a frequent trolleybus service to and from the station. The breakfast was excellent and very tasty with a good variety of drinks and food which were plentiful. The hotel also had its own excellent Indian restaurant with an impressive variety of food which was very reasonably priced.

I can’t think of any aspects which could have been improved.

The staff serving the breakfast are nice.

The pillow is really bad. Besides, the bell of a nearby church (I guess it is a church) even rings at midnight.

Good value. Friendly. Very clean. Ideal for no frills.

    The reception was shabby.

It is in a good location, there's tens of restaurants and they have their own too, which I sadly didn't had the chance to try except for the breakfast. There's also a fitness club with swimming pool and sauna, bars, a bunch of stores selling all sorts of things and the public beach on the lake of Biel is like 15 minutes even by walking. The train station is close as well, my meeting was in another city but it wasn't a pain to get to there. The room was tidy, the staff was nice, checking in and out was fast, they have comedy central in German...I'm also happy for the breakfast, they had a good variety of a bunch of things I love. If I'd happen to stay in the region in the near future, I'd choose them again without hesitation.

The only tiny inconvenience was the shower, the door wouldn't close in any angle I tried so after showering I had a spot to dry up.

Breakfast was surprisingly good and the breakfast staff was exceptionally friendly. You can open the windows, thats nice.

    Good location, room was spacious.

Well, from the get-go, I had a feeling it was a very basic and dated hotel. The first room I was given had the shower head hanging from the shower wall. It wasn't possible to affix it to the shower hardware (head didn't fit the same size as the hardware). When I was moved, the shower was 'better' but there were holes in the wall of the shower, no ventilation at all anywhere in the room (a standing fan, that's it), no lightbulbs in my lamp, no kettle, very moldy/stale smell in all of the cupboards. The pillows were so flat that I could barely use them. Had to bunch up the second duvet to use as a pillow (also quite flat). TV didn't go on. So much noise from outside was heard in the room as the windows didn't offer any soundproofing. Most of the staff seemed puzzled/apathetic in all of my dealings with them. They weren't terrible, but it's clear that there isn't a whole lot of love and care being poured into this place.Felt some scratches/bites in the mornings and considered that there might be bed bugs in this place, too :(Breakfast was pretty gross, and I'm not picky at all, but I wouldn't touch the cheese or meat section. You're better off going to Lago Lodge in Biel, where it's CLEAN and very affordable and pleasant.Overall, if you're into the haunted-feeling-60's-retro-dirty-office-building-style hotel, you'll enjoy this place. Otherwise, skip it.

The hotel is a 15min walk from the train station, easy to find and close to a shopping alley, so you will find everything you need. The staff was really nice and welcoming. The hotel has seen better days, and it is not vintage yet. The room was big and i had enough space for my stuff. The breakfast is very simple but fine and the coffee is good. They are really trying and the restaurant seems to be good.

My room itself even though a no smoking sign was on the door smelled very bad as it has been a smoking room before. The walls were badly insulated and only with the windows open the heat was bareable. No AC. The bed was damaged, the sheets had two wholes and only one socket was usable. So i had to decide to recharge my phone or watch TV. I only had the bed lights as light sources in the room. When someone opened the window close to my room it sounded as it would be mine. The toilet was loose and most of the bath equipment had seen much better days. I could close my door from the inside but could not lock it, the handle from the extra lock was missing. The place needs a lot of work done.

    Will never stay here again!

ROOM- Unclean- No Air-conditioning- Toilet did not have a lid- Holes in bedsheets- Looks more like a Hostel Room with mismatched scratched furniture- Fridge was tiny and hard to find. It was inside a small cupboard and looked liked it had been there since the 1960’s- Window blinds were broken- Windows were difficult to open. Could only get one to open- There was absolutely nothing attractive about this roomHOTEL-It’s unclean-Hotel parking was a mystery, had to pay for public parking-Lack of staff, one staff member was new and unable to assist with some of our queries-false alarm went off at 0530 and lasted at least 15 minutes. No instructions were given by staff as to what to do? It was a complete disaster-the interior desperately needs a new paint job -the restaurant might have been ok but due to everything being so unclean, we just couldn’t bring ourselves to eat there. But can highly recommend the Thai restaurant opposite the hotel

Hotel is as expected. Quality-price is OK. All was clean as expected. Just the place seems to be old but it as described.

No wifi. I was not offered any alternative when i asked to one of he staff. But the worst and the reason i wont come back is one of the staff member. One lady who was furious everyday i had to ask a question. She was extremely unpolite. The breakfast was terrible. I was 3 nights but i had jsut half of the breakfast in my first day and i did not want to finish it or to come back next day. It was just disgusting. i was offered a coffee and some pieces of cheese that were frozen, hard and dry. Just not edible.

I like the free Wifi and the simple step for check out.

The sound isolation between the rooms is not so good.

room basic, seen better hotels for the price, in water pressure very poor.waitress constantly yelling on her mobile phone, and smoking all the time.

Very central hotel in a building close to the old city as well as the commercial streets. Close by you can find several restaurants and main sights and funicular are available. It is around 10 minutes walk to the train station and 15 minutes to the lake shore. The room was good in a higher floor with many windows but it was quiet at night. Nice staff. Good wifi. Breakfast correct.
