This eco-friendly 4-star boutique and design hotel is located in the heart of Basel. The stylish rooms all feature modern amenities such as iPod docking stations. Free Wi-Fi is available. Hotel D’s rooms were fully-renovated in February 2016 and are equipped with LED-backlit LCD TVs with laptop connections, as well as LED rain showers. They offer panoramic views over the Old Town and the Rhine River. A rich continental breakfast including many organic products and fair trade coffee is served in the morning. Hotel D - Basel also includes a sauna and a modern fitness studio with Technogym equipment. The Messe Basel convention center is a 5-minute walk away, and Basel Main Train Station can be reached by tram in 10 minutes.

- It is close to the old town and river boat embarkation point, and has recently been renovated. We chose an executive room because we wanted a bigger bed, and it was extremely comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
- Clean and large room. Comfy bed.Friendly and helpful staff.Great location.Nice breakfast. Very modern.

Cons -
- The rooms at the front of the hotel were noisy from the trams and buses, which ran early mornings and late at night, a room at the back of the hotel would be quieter. We didnt find the over-bath shower very good, it was impossible to turn on unless you were actually standing in the bath so you were first showered with freezing cold water. Breakfast was entirely self-service, including making your own boiled eggs, the buffet was tiny and the coffee machine was nothing special, it certainly wasnt worth the CHF27 per person charged, better to go out and find breakfast elsewhere.
