Bären Self Check-in Hotel

Hotel was clean and very presentable. Room was very good.

Available wifi was not good. Seems that the router would loose it's own internet connection. You can connect to the router, but no internet.

Clean, well located, easy free parking at hotel.

Nice breakfast also with local food. Really good! The room provided everything needed.

When you forget the adapter for the power outlets it can be tricky. There is a smoking room on the 1st floor (why???) and you can smell it in the room.

It is very convenient for access to Solothurn plus there's a supermarket very close by. Nice touch that there's an area with a kettle, plates and microwave (although I don't speak Swiss German so I'm still not totally sure whether we were meant to use them!)Room was very clean and the check-in process was fairly straight forward. Great off-street parking and, for Solothurn, relatively inexpensive.

Road noise is the obvious negative. It's very close to the road although it's not the cars that disturb you but the trams. They start very early in the morning and sometimes seem to thunder by. There were earplugs in the room and we used them.Took us a minute to work out check-in although definitely not as bad as some negative reviews. As mentioned earlier, the area with the microwave, kettle and tea bags was a little confusing, we weren't sure whether we were having a complimentary cup of tea or taking something we shouldn't be.

Friendly staff, very clean room. Excellent location with a 10 minute walk to the city. The free use of the bicycles was perfect.

We had a room on the road side and it is very noisy. If you stay at the Bären self check in hotel you should choose a room on the other side wich is quieter.

impeccably clean, great for 1-2 nights stay (room on the small side). very nice breakfast. close to the city and pleeenty of parking places - for free! Nice personnel and the self-serve “mini-bar” in the foyer.

as visible on the map and stated by others, hotel is located on the tram line. one can hear it a bit - we were on the garden side - but not a major issue and surely the night was super quiet.

1. The room itself was clean and comfortable. I was next to the parking lot and street, but did not notice much noise, so the insulation must be pretty good!2. It is only a 10-minute walk to the entrance of the beautiful Altstadt.3. Parking is very convenient and free. One of my colleagues arrived by car and really appreciated it.

1. It was not at all clear how to use public transportation to get to the Altstadt. It would have been nice if there had been a tram/bus schedule clearly visible in reception, or at least a map on how to go to the train station and Altstadt by foot. In the end, these places were quite easy to find, but my first hours in this new city were disorientating.2. The self check-in device/process at the front door was a little hard to understand. Maybe it was a question of imprecise translation into English from German. 3. The staff did their jobs, but could have been a bit friendly and welcoming.

Great location, comfortable and clean

The property was very clean, cozy and modern.

The hotel is conveniently located in a calm area, with easy reach to public transport.The self-service check in makes things convenient and easy - In particular after hours!Beds are comfortable, the bathrooms have everything you'd need (including a hair dryer).As a little bonus: the hotel's theme being gummy bears, you have some fun things around these; including a gummy bear fortune teller book next to your bed! ? ? ?

If you are sensitive to noise, make sure you pick the mountain side only: the street side rooms have a ventilation system, which comes on at night (around 4-5 AM in the morning) and makes a continous humming noise.

Our room was very close to the street and tramway and the ventilation did not work. We had to open the window so every car and train during the night was very loud - We did not sleep at all
