    Pros +

    • Beds were comfy, location was excellent, amenities were great
    • Great location, quiet, nice spacious room overlooking the river. Easy check in & nice man on reception.
    • Unfortunately we arrived late and left early, so didn't have a chance to fully appreciate and explore the accommodation and surrounds. However, it was quite magical to open our window and look at the lights reflected on the River Aare. The breakfast was lovely, room was very comfortable, a lovely old building...definitely a place to return to.

    Cons -

    • Room could use a fan to circulate air
    • nothing! It was all great.
    • No lift

Beautiful hotel right on the river. Walking distance to everything including the train station. Great staff, breakfast provided. Was a great stay. I had a lovely room on the corner with a view of the river from both windows. Easy self check in as I arrived late.

    nothing! It was all great.

The receptionist was amazingly helpful, very welcoming, the rooms were freshly renovated and very comfortable. Beautiful view of the Aare from my room and very close to the main station

    No lift

Staff very helpful and the location was excellent.

The room is quite small, even for one person e.g. there is little room between the corner of the bed and the wardrobe., and nowhere to put a suitcase once it has been unpacked. The room lighting (red) is not helpful, especially when reading - one (red shade) bedside light is not bright enough.

Location was good near many restaurants.

Parking was 4 blocks away in a public parking garage. There were 34 steps to the 2nd floor room. Rooms face west so rooms get very warm in the afternoon.

Lovely views, and the hotel interiors are tastefully designed and decorated.

The noise from the trains all through the night. The bedside lights were not good enough for reading a book.

    La situation géographique

No elevator, poor quality of breakfast, the rooms need immediate renovation.

    7MariannePosted on: 9-18-2022

Antique beautiful boutique hotel centrally located on the Aare

Self-check in; especially at night the locker was another one than before. Had to wait that someone left the hotel to open the door

Friendly staff, great location for restaurants, bars, train but still quiet in room with view of river. borrowed bicycle free of charge from hotel and had lovely trip downriver after work with meal at 1881 cafe. Architecture of hotel building also interesting. WiFi v good.

    7PaulPosted on: 9-14-2022

Thé location. Cleanliness. An attractive building.

Thé barroom!! Not really a room rather a glass cubicle which offers minimum privacy. The door didn’t slide shut properly. Poorly designed/ thought out.

    9SandraPosted on: 4-24-2022

Location was excellent. The rooms were clean and a decent size for one person. There are restaurants in the vicinity. You can walk to the old town. The view is amazing. Very quiet rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. I'd definitely return.

Parking wasn't that close, so if you have lots of luggage it's not very practical. There is a spot infront of the hotel to unload the car, but it is occupied by non-hotel guests 90% of the time. Parking is quite expensive.

Location Building itselfOffered fruit and the possibility of making coffee/tea in a passage in front of the breakfast room (there is no opened restaurant in September)

The description of the facilities is not very correct: no bathrobe, no slippers in a room, soundproofing concerns inly the windows. You do hear the other guests walking or talking in the neighbors’ rooms. The rooms are not really “spacious” but fine. Since they are called “Boutique” I expected rather something more…

Superb location, very central. The rooms are very nice and the bedding is really top. Excellent breakfast.

The third person in the room (it had been booked for three people) did actually sleep on a kind of sofa. But the price was actually worked out as if the third bed was as good / comfortable as the other two.The bathroom itself is a complete disaster: made of translucid glass with a sliding door that is totally insufficient to ensure any intimacy while, for example, using the toilets. There is actually a 3 centimetres gap between the door and the adjoining wall when the door is « closed ». I will not come back to this place until something is done to replace those ridiculous bathrooms.

    9AnjaPosted on: 5-15-2021

Excellent location with fascinating view on River Aare and old Part of the town. Very friendly. Bike and children friendly.

    8DavidPosted on: 3-29-2021

The best part of town with bars and restaurants (all with takeaways during Covid) is just across the river. Free fruit, coffee, tea and beer in the lobby.

    8ManuelPosted on: 3-8-2021

    - Very kind staff- Renovated facilities- Free hot and fresh drinks available for the guests - They help out in advising where to order / eat in covid restriction time by handing out a short-list/guide of best places
