    Pros +

    • Great location and price for the quality. No frills, just a warm bed and clean sheets. View was spectacular!
    • The view from the windows was pretty good and relaxing.
    • We stayed here for 1 night as we drove through Switzerland on our way to Italy. The location is lovely and the view on the lake is breathtaking. The owners are welcoming and very kind. It was quite warm for the time of year (35 degrees Celcius) but with windows open we got a breeze in at night. The room was spotless, clean, spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Our only complaint is the noise from the room(s) above us. There might have been a large group who stayed there, perhaps a large shared room with bunk beds. People started walking around at 5:30 am above us and it did not stop. It sounded they were stomping around in their hiking boots for hours. It was so loud we could not sleep anymore, which impacted our energy and mood that day. That was our only complaint. The 5 minute walk to the ski lift/chair lift was perfect. There is a little supermarket at the base of the ski-lift where you can buy all your pic-nick supplies. We took the lift up, to go hiking in the mountains. The views were spectacular and we had an amazing time. For Switzerland this was the best price we could find for an overnight / drive-through accommodations and the location was perfect.

    Cons -

    • The room was very small than the photos and was not furnished as described. The beds were really uncomfortable and very alt. The toilet was very very small with no ventilation.
    • the noise from the rooms above us.
    • I feel it was expensive for the kind of hotel that it is. May be because Switzerland is just expensive in general, but I felt like there were very little amenities to compensate: no water boiler for coffee in the morning, no hair dryer, very few outlets near the bed, very small bathroom… don’t want to be nit picking, but compared to other places we stayed in during our trip, it felt like the least value for money.

Very kind host, waited for us even though we arrived late in the evening

Great location, amazing views of the mountains and the lake Wallen below.Dining room downstairs was big, we were allowed to have our own snacks with drinks that we bought there.

Rooms antiquated, very few plugs, roof was low and clostrophobic. Bathroom was small also and cramped . Breakfast was OK but one coffee per guest limit. Not a great strategy to limit the coffee.

Very clean with a helpful and kind owner. Vintage style.

Breakfast had a good variety of fresh bread, fruit, meat and cheese, cereal. The host was always friendly and helpful. Dinner there is also a wonderful home cooked Indian experience.

    I have no complaints

The hosts were very accommodating and friendly with suggestions on places to visit around the area. It was a great value, lovely Swiss style inn, and we slept very well. We look forward to staying there again on our upcoming Swiss mountain adventure!

Price was right. Breakfast wasn't fancy, but it was good--first real fruit we've encountered at a hotel in Switzerland! Staff was very friendly.

Soap in bathroom would have been nice. For 2 people, 2 shower gel packets and 2 water cups would have been nice.

    Big nice room. Comfy bed.

    No TV in the room.

Great location with private parking and beautiful views. Just a 5-minute drive to the slopes' parking and within 300 meters of supermarkets. The hotel is run by a lovely and helpful family, providing a good breakfast for a small fee and an optional dinner in their dining room. Guests can also use the space to enjoy their own food. Overall, a great stay!

The toilet/bath is a bit tight.

We had a lovely one-night stay at this cozy property. The hospitality and food were fantastic, and the views of Obersee on the way to the restaurant were breathtaking. While the toilet was quite small, the bath area was manageable. The sunset and scenic ride views from the window were also a highlight. Highly recommend for a short, relaxing stay!

The hotel was very clean and comfortable although the furniture was basic. The bed was very comfy and I had a great sleep. Owner was delightful and very accommodating.

Bathrooms quite basic and small but clean and well looked after. Took a while for hot water to come through.

    10ManuelPosted on: 9-2-2024

The team here is super friendly!

It's located above the bus station and is just one bus stop or a four-minute walk away from the center of Amden.

The staff was really nice and did listen to wishes i had. Big spacious bed for one Person.

The toilet was extremley small and the shower uses an electrical showerhead to heat the water. Takes forever to heat up and very dangerous to not overheat.

We liked the hospitality very much, the free parking is an absolute huge like!

I cannot find anything to dislike, this hotel/guest house is for those who are searching for the best value for money. An authentic , rustic-vintage experience!
