Hotel Oltnerhof - self check-in and self service

bed was very comfortable, good selection at breakfast, only a short walk to the railway station.

I like to sleep with the windows open to let fresh air in but sadly room 206 is right above the main road so i had to keep the windows closed to keep the noise from the traffic down.

Thé self check in procedure was a fail with the machine broken and some stress about getting the key and double payment. The staff was there to solve the problem at his best and helpful but this moment was really unpleasant. The room was very small and bed not very comfortable, for this kind of experience the price is really over rated.

Overall the facility is clean, dining room is nice and the lobby is nice too.

The check out system is slow and didn't work.The single room was too cold, tried to turn on the heater but didn't work well, the toilet, the sink and shower in one open space, no door to separate the toilet and your sleeping bed.

Good selection of items for breakfast. Very comfy beds.Not too far from the railway station.

Had a few problems with the new self booking registration but a very helpful chap on the end of the phone soon sorted this out for me. Space a bit limited for your clothes.

Despite asking for a quiet room mine was next to the outdoor patio. This didn't cause a problem this time but clearly my request was ignored.I suspect this was in great part due to the automated entry system. While the person at the end of the intercom did everything they needed to, when I first tried to use the system it told me my room would not be ready until 15:00, this being at 16:00!!This was fairly easily corrected but I wonder what the solution would be if I asked for a firmer pillow (yet again those provided were pretty much pointless!) or extra towels.As you can guess, not a fan of their system.

location was excellent.. 4 min walk from the station. They gave me an early check in. The room was clean and had everything I needed. Breakfast was also very nice. I loved the fruit tea. Staff only knew to speak Spanish but was so helpful. we communicated through the Google translation app. I could leave my luggage after check out for a few hours without any hassle.

all was good. room size was a little small but was very manageable for a single person.

In a very central position, you're super close to the city center if you want to take a walk.Breakfast was ok...

Room was OK, a bit small if you're in two.. There's not much room to move if you have a lot of luggages.

Beautifully renovated rooms, comfortable beds, clean and roomy shower/bathroom. Self check-in was state of the art and easy. We didn't eat breakfast, so no news there, but the breakfast room was nicely decorated.

Nothing. It's the place to be if you're being called to Olten. A perfect blend between a warm, modern interior, functionality and making use of of the unusual space, which is the round facade.

Although the room was equipped with two radiators, both were freezing cold and could not be turned on, so the room was really uncomfortably cold during the night.

We actually did not stay at this hotel but their partner hotel Arte (5 min away by foot), so it was nice that they kind of upgraded us from 3 to 4 starts and did not charge extra for that because it was not our fault (hotel Oltnerhof was closed). Review for hotel Arte: amazing place, good facilities, modern and super comfortable furniture, great bathroom with everything you need... breakfast also has a lot of things and coffee machine is good. The ladies at the reception and at the breakfast restaurant were really nice and helpful.

We actually did not stay at this hotel but their partner hotel Arte (5 min away by foot). The only problem was that no written info (email, SMS, other) was sent to us before we actually reached the hotel, during the night. Hotel Arte does not have any negative things, the place was just amazing.

Creaky floors meant noise from people moving around early morning.

We’re woken up when alarm went off; stayed on for an hour. Because there was no one at reception…..felt very uncomfortable.

Shower was good and the lift worked. Breakfast was fair. Hotel was clean. It was not the sort of hotel for a holiday unless on a tight budget albeit was not exceptionally cheap. More of a hotel for people traveling for work

Self check in did not work tried 3 times. Had to use the phone to contact reception which was in another hotel 10mins walk away Hotel Arte. The receptionist would not come to hotel so had to go there to pay and get the room key. Luckily my Wife could stay with our suitcases while I went. The room never had any tea or coffee making facilities. The room was quite cramped and limited hanging facilities. Hotel on a major road and very loud traffic noise thoughout the day and night

Great overnight stopping point. Very clean. Lovely big, comfortable bed. Spacious room. Good breakfast. Staff very friendly.

It was very hard to find by sat nav and was advertised as having ‘parking garage’. It was stressful at night trying to find the hotel and then find parking. We couldn’t phone the hotel for help as it’s unmanned at night. When we did the self check-in it didn’t give us the option to check in both rooms, which was also stressful. I had to go through the whole check in procedure again and thankfully it gave me another room. We didn’t sleep well as there was a lot of noise in the corridors and rooms from other guests.

At long last the breakfast start time on weekends is 0700 rather than 0800 which I've been commenting about before. If travelling around by train the station is only 4-5 minutes walk away with good services to the big cities. The self check in worked well, the room was clean, the staff were pleasant and the breakfast was adequate but could have done with some fruit salad.

The bed mattress was not very comfortable and there was only one pillow which was a bit high for my liking. One day my waste bin was not emptied and, I believe, on the same day I had to ask the staff in the breakfast room to replenish the meat tray which they should have been keeping an eye on.
