Amazing grounds and the surrounding area is superb for hiking and exploring.

Bed wasn’t very comfortable.

Bar and gourmet restaurant closed so no seating area to have a drink or relax. Only tiny coffee kitchen on 2nd floor with an empty bin for biscuits. After 6pm there was another restaurant open so we were able to eat something. Felt like we were the only guests in the hotel. No warm ambiance. I expected a cosy and warm landhotel but this was unfortunately not the reality.

As advertised, it is located more in the countryside so it’s actually good for R&R. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. It was very nice interacting with them.

A very friendly welcome “so glad you are here”, both in the hotel as in the restaurant. Great food in the restaurant with a lovely view, a lot of local guests. The staff are so kind and welcoming, we left very early to avoid Gotthard tunnel traffic and the staff made us a small breakfast to go when we left at 6 AM? Also first drink is on the house in the minibar ? Very quiet during the night.We will absolutely be back!

Only downside is no aircon in the room - even though it cooled down quite well in the night and there were mosquito screens for the open doors ??

This hotel is kind of secret gem in the Liestal area. You need to drive few kilometers away from the main roads to get there but in the end you are rewarded by the fabulous cuisine, cosy rooms and beautiful surrounding. Do not miss the dinner in one of hotel restaurants.

The breakfast was not bad but for the room price could be better. I really do not understand the idea of using these small glasses like it should save some drinks. In the end one has to get three time to the desk to drink.

The location is absolutely gorgeous, in the middle of nature and perfectly calm.The personal was helpful and friendly.Diner at the gourmet restaurant was impressive.

The bathroom of our suite was small an especially the bath and shower is not at the level.To enter and leave the shower is dangerous on the hight to the floor. Kind of fitness exercise.

everything it is one of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed in. the staff were wonderful, the setting beautiful and the food at the rustic restaurant was excellent. Robert from the restaurant was our highlight- thank you for such a wonderful evening

Friendly staff. Wonderful wines and the dining felt like private dining with excellent wine recommendation.

I read comments about the cost of the restaurant being high before booking in other reviews. Still booked and can say we also feel the cost is high for the quality. It was good, but 54 Swiss Francs for the main course alone. was in our opinion too much. If priced more realistically would be good. This accepted we do not stay in Switzerland often and so cannot compare with costs in other Swiss hotels. Steps to front door with cases is not good.Poor signage when approaching reception.Our room was in the modern extension to the rear. Unfinished balcony area and overlooking an unappealing building in what is a very rural pretty setting.A van unloading materials at 7.30 am under our balcony which was not appreciated. Did not realise there would be no aircon but that was my fault and not reflected in the grading.

Excellent breakfast with fresh fruit salad, great ham and good fresh products, with a great view on the garden. The location is very nice in the typical Swiss countryside near Liestal

The gourmet dishes (dinner) are very good, but there could be an alternative for lower budgets.There could be a free navette to the Liestal train station, at a usual fixed time in the morning (8am for example)

All staff members are friendly and informative. Early efficient check-in.Foods in both restaurants are great. Idyllic setting of the hotel. We enjoyed hiking around it. Modern, well-furnished room and bathroom, comfortable bed.

We wish the hotel had a hamman or sauna for when the weather is not good. :-)

This is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. The drive up to the hotel is simply gorgeous. The lady who looked after us at reception and the next morning at breakfast was friendly, helpful and extremely professional.

Nice hiking opportunities near by.

There are not many dining options.
