The Originals Boutique, Hôtel de la Balance, Montbéliard

I arrived by bike and really appreciated that the hotel had a secure place to park them. My room looked a little simpler than in the photos, but it was still comfortable. The bathroom was new and clean. Breakfast was amazing, served in what looks like a big old ballroom, which made the experience feel special. Overall, a pleasant stay.

The staff was a bit absent at times (check-in and check-out), but it seemed like they were understaffed, so it was understandable.

Great location with regards the Christmas market

Parking in the local car park was a bit of pain as nothing available in the onsite carpark.Our room was on the ground floor in an adapted room with separate rooms for the toilet and one shower/sink….

The location was great. The staff were nice and helpful.

The room was okay, although for the price we paid it could be much better. We got a free upgrade which was nice but the room was still basic. The drain in the bathroom sink was not working properly, so the water wouldn’t go down as it should. The breakfast did not have many options and was pricey.

The location is great. You can reach every landmark on foot, and the train station is about a 5-minute walk away. Breakfast was super delicious, and I was delighted by the vast selection of loose-leaf tea.

Room window can’t be opened. Ground floor looking to a very narrow backyard parking. Next to the room entrance the central waste disposal bin.

Convenient location, old building has lots of character. Staff were very helpful, safe storage for bicycles and amazing breakfast.

Beautiful, historic, old hotel in a quiet part of town. Spacious bedroom with high ceilings and large windows. Decor in keeping with the age of the hotel. Good en-suite bathroom. Good, easily controlled heating in the room. Excellent continental breakfast. Overall a very comfortable stay.

Requested a parking for the motorbikes, the excuse was given that there was a large group and the parking was full. Turned out they did not want motorbikes in their parking (maybe the misconception that they are loud), we noted spaces where our bikes could be stalled but the answer was that they where in front of an room. So if your a biker (motor), skip this place!Unfriendly staff (we do are job and thats it), no mentioning of the possibilty to have diner.The bathroom had a sewage smell, probably leaking pipes. Breakfast and room where ok.

The room was clean and the view from the room was not bad.

We wanted to have a property with the parking, but we’re told that it is not possible to reserve and there was no space there or on the street nearby. We had to drive around town to find one.

That’s the downside of all old buildings - very bad noise isolation. You could hear everyone around the room and in the hallway.

Amazing breakfast and quiet, comfortable rooms with air conditioning. My spouse and children loved the place and its amenities. The location is superb, right in the heart of the city. We would definitely stay there again when we visit Montbeliard next time.

Having the two rooms connected would have been better, but we simply booked too late to get that option. Having a fitness room or Spa would have been nice. Getting an extra room key was a bit of a hassle, but worked out in the end.

Very nice room and staff. The breakfast was great and in a beautiful room. We could get dinner easily.
