Pros +
- within walking distance to the train station, after complaining our room was changed
- Wonderful lakeside location. Very good breakfast. Our room with a lake view and additional sitting room was stunning. Well, well kept and friendly staff. Wonderful saunas, steam room. Clean and peaceful ! A thank you to the kind gentleman at the restaurant that allowed us to take a slice of delicious peach cheesecake up to our room (apparently a no no?) so we could enjoy it in our living room in view of the lake and without the huge crowds !
- The location was perfect, so close to the lake, too comfortable for family with a baby. The breakfast was very tasty and healthy at the same time, a very good moment to enjoy. Wellness Zone very clean and calm, total relaxing!
Cons -
- exceptionally expensive, located in a very busy area, a lot of people traffic, poor design for any air flow, no noise barrier to outside noise which went on until after midnight, staff not particularly friendly, room was like a sauna, bad air flow
- The reception area was quite small and lacked seating. But this is a minor complaint. The parking lot with reserved parking for the guests is quite far away.
- It was a little bit cold during the night with a little one even we have raised to the maximum the heating. At the toilet needed a trash can, not small plastic bags, that was under our expectations.

1. Location - on the lake shore, in the harbor, very quiet and romantic. Great view even for rooms without harbor view (I loved our street view). 2 min walk to the train station.2. Pool area (underground, textile) - it's very small, but it's a great that it's available. We were mostly alone there so we enjoyed it. Steam sauna also very good and clean. 3. The most comfortable bed and pillows.4. Staff - nice, always ready to help.5. Top service - baby monitor, kid bathrobes, extra sauna towels, extra pillows available, lots of info provided.6. Family friendly.
1. Pool is very cold. More like a plunge pool, than an onsen (onsen should be 40C btw). 2. Restaurant menu not to my liking. Carbonara had onions in it and food was mostly overpriced fast food (pitzza, pasta, burger).3. Breakfast was good for a 3 star, but I would expect better from a 4 star hotel.4. Top floor sauna and jacuzzi is a textile free area. The terrace is small, but the view is awesome.5. Towels are not of the same quality as everything else. The fabric was rough and not comfortable on the skin.
Perfect location, beautiful hotel and rooms.Friendly staff, delicious breakfast.Just outstanding!
Wifi was not that good in our room.
Location is wonderful and friendly staffAlso the hotel has a wonderfulPool in the basement
Everything was just perfect. The hotel staff is very nice and friendly. The hotel is very clean. The breakfast is great!
Cozy boutique hotel. Great food. Perfect location. Nice rooftop sauna and whirlpool.
Everything was perfect.
It would be nice to have a proper lounge area - the area upstairs outside the spa is not a relaxing place to sit and chat/read, etc. The naked spa area should be switched with downstairs spa, so that it is possible to choose if you have one or the other.
As above. Everything else was great
The location is great—just at the harbor. The breakfast exceeded our expectations—it was delicious for every taste and diet! The room was a bit cold, but that was okay. I would stay again with my family there, for sure!
Great spa offering, including fantastic sauna on rooftop, excellent breakfast
Expensive parking
Location is ideal. The staff is outstanding. The outdoor sauna was superb. The breakfast buffet was good and it looks out at the harbor. The room had a nice balcony with two chairs. We used one of the chairs inside. The shower was the best I’ve had in Europe!
The room was a bit unusual. Small shelf next to the bed but I like a bed stand. No outlets at the bed. The shower was great, but the huge tub was pretty useless. A better use of that space would be a small lounge. The bath fan was loud. Arrival by car requires pulling up to the hotel entrance and then backing up to drive to a parking area. It can be very congested at the hotel entrance.
Excellent location and facilities. Catered well to nude and clothed sauna and spa enthusiasts The breakfast buffet had a huge variety of offerings including a juicer.
All in all lovely!
The room was very cold at the beginning and it took ca 2 hours to warm it up.It would have been nice to have closer parking.
Location and very nice hotel with professional people
You need to leave your reserved and payable hotel parking spot with your check out latest by 11:30am-12pm, no flexibility and support by hotel. You cannot take lunch before leaving and you better organize the parking yourself in that case.
Hotel is very stylish, spa centre is great. The rooftop pool and sauna are unforgettable! Definitely worth visiting. And I almost forgot to mention an exceptional breakfast :)
I wish that private bathtub in the suite had jacuzzi... at least I hoped for it , judging by the pictures of this suite. But it was great anyways :)
very nice hotel with a great view of the lake and awesome facilities! we only stayed one night, but took advantage of the rooftop pool and sauna and it was a nice experience.
a little on they pricey side, but we knew that when booking. also, the rooftop pool could have been one or two degrees warmer.
Amazing location 2 mins from the train station with the Christmas markets right on our door step. Breakfast was included and very tasty with a good variety. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has an indoor pool and sauna which was great to use. Welcome drinks were very appreciated too!
I didn't see an aircon unit so it might be a bit warm for summer but no real complaints! Would be nice to have access to a laundry.
The location is perfect. What was bad was the "service recovery". I entered my room (room 223 - dont use this room!) late at night so no one was available at the front desk and it smelled strongly of sewage - especially when I opened the shower door because the smell was coming from the drain. I immediately closed the bathroom door and opened all the windows and slept with open windows in 3-5 degree outside temperatures. Ok...so these things can happen. When I went to the reception the next morning I communicated the situation in my room to the personnel at the front desk. Unfortunately instead of having a hotel professional there, I was confronted with a naiv young girl who had no clue about customer service (training anyone?). She just shrugged and said well if you had told us last night we could have changed your room (empty front desk after 10:00 PM). Then I needed a late check out on that Monday morning (until 13:00) and this young person told me that house rules are 35 Euros for late check out. I said, nope. With the bad experience I had with my room this would be a time for service recovery. She didnt get it. She said; rules are rules! This is where I got irritated and then she relented. Then I go to breakfast and as Im waiting for my coffee to come out of the nice automatic machine a surly gentleman comes to me and demands "Room number?" No smile, no good morning and obviously also no training. I felt like a criminal and not like a guest.I expect a lot more from a 4 star hotel. This is shoddy and I will never stay here again.Oh yeah, by the way...did I mention that I come to Lindau every year with about 20 managers for a seminar? Well, they won't be staying at the Helvetia either.Oh yeah....Helvetia sent me a link to give feedback and the link didnt work! Geesh...so I'm giving it here. There are better hotels to be in Lindau - Adara, Alte Schulhaus, Engel...
The location and the breakfast was nice. But NOTHING else.
Everything. Room, spa, gym, hospitality, service, delicious breakfast. 100% recomendable
Nothing :)
