Hotel Engel - Lindauer Bier und Weinstube

Hotel Engel was a perfect, romantic escape away from the bigger cities. The room was cozy, the food was amazing, and the historic aspects were the cherry on top.

This hotel is so darn cute and the location is great. The young man working the front desk was incredibly helpful, very funny, and super efficient.

Great location and hotel is very unique and in great shape. Great breakfast and very accomodating stafg.

They need air conditioning on the third floor

One word: charming! Loved the modern renovations and decor of this very old building. Roof top terrace and views are amazing.

Breakfast was always delicious and generous. The breakfast hosts were warmly welcoming and took excellent care of our needs, over and above. Reception staff and hotel hosts were wonderful too. Perfect location.

you need to know that the building is very old althouth very good renovated the acostics between the rooms was very bad and the floor made from very old wood that makes a sound of crack when you walk

Historic, authentic yet clean, renovated bright, cozy rooms. Very helpful and friendly staff, good breakfast. Amazing location!

Rooms are on the smaller side, maybe for longer stay it would be not perfectly comfortable. But for a weekend gateway they are perfect!

Very cosy, exactly how you'd imagine a hotel on a beautiful little island in Germany to look. Nice breakfast, great location. Useful to have a lift as we were on the top floor and my legs didn't work after the 3 country marathon. Also had a nice balcony on the top.

restaurant downstairs was a little expensive.

Building goes back to 1398, wonderful details, and modernized rooms very comfortable and well appointed.

Stairs not for cowardly elders(but elevator available).

The breakfast is a mockery. They are counting every penny!The day before, you are given a formular, you can only pick 5 items for breakfast. Nutella is among the list! There is no buffet at all.I picked 5, I got only 3.1 single egg.I never got the salmon or the honey.I had to ask to get a tiny jar of jam. I could finally make 2 toasts.

Location. Breakfast was excepcional and place too. Welcoming drinks. Checkin is upstairs but it has an elevator. Close to a quick parking for unloading, and over night parking, both with chargers.

No AC, but we expected that. Very small room and bathroom.

Located right in the old part of Linda’s. Easy walking distance from everything. Very attentive staff.

Ts not that I didn’t like it or there is anything the staff can do but I think people would like to know and understand. Building is very old (which we loved) but that comes with issues of steep stairs (there is a small elevator). Smaller rooms but we didn’t come to stay in the room. As it’s in the old part of a very old town it is almost inaccessible by vehicle and parking is offsite at a cost. But I believe this is the state for any hotel on the island.

Innkeeper Winfred and a staff of eager-to-please young people make the Hotel Engel and its restaurant a real find for us tourists. The hotel is well located in the Lindau pedestrian shopping zone. The restaurant has a following among locals who know its hearty, German fare.

Position, medieval half timbered building, atmosphere. Kindness of the staff, breakfast room (Stube.), terrace with great view of the village’s roof.

All great, but a noisy fan in the toilet to be repaired (#21), since not turning off if not after 20m.

The place is great. Very helpful staff. Outstanding food both for breakfast and dinner! The rooms are a bit small (we knew this in advance) but we’ll definitely be there next time. Great atmosphere, in the old town environment.

Staff didn't know how to deal with allergies or understand that touching food with an allergen contaminates it and makes it inedible.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and we will definitely stay there again if we have the opportunity to so. The accommodation is so central, and we were able to walk to all the restaurants in the area. Thank you so much for the delicious breakfast.
