The Originals City, Hôtel Continental, Poitiers

Location. The lift. Perfectly adequate for an overnight stay.

I would have liked a coffee making facilities in the room.

We arrived late with lots of luggage. There was a lift which was a bonus. We left early in the morning so I can't say much more except that it was exceptional value for money.

There was no fixed shower over the bath.

Clean, comfortable hotel, close to the train station.

No negatives, I was just transiting overnight for an early morning train.

Extra pillow and felt safe in the area. Clean rooms and not too far to walk to centre

No kettle in the room and bathroom got so wet on the floor from a small shower screen

The hotel was close to the bus station. It allowed dogs

The room was noisy and had a small bathroom. When you stepped out of the shower you had to stand between the toilet and wall with very little room.There was no car parking on site but a multi-storey was available a short walk away. There were a few takeaway restaurants nearby but no facilites for dogs.

A nice hotel, highly recommended. Friendly staff, nice breakfast and very near to the train station and car rentals, which is a great plus.

Bad

The front door was lock somehow and the receptionist was cleaning the rooms so I stranded outside almost 45mins

A straightforward 2* hotel which was great for a one night stopover. It was plain and adequate in an excellent location within 200m of the main station. Very quiet and spacious room. Handy to the local bus service.

Breakfast was inadequate for the €9 cost. Nice fresh fruit provided though.

Breakfast was good. Location not what we expected. It was a very steep hill to get to the centre of town.

Rooms were very basic.

Very dangerous location across the road from the main train station that bring all the usual people of a city. On a Thursday night at 21:00 it was so busy with cars beeping and people running in the street. No parking at all, I was advised to park my camper can behind the train station. It was so bad I decided not to stay and paid for a different room in another hotel of the same group.Reception unhelpful

Good location on the level close to the railway station. Friendly staff. Good size room, comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Room good value for money.

The hotel’s location is excellent—just a 5-minute walk from the train station, which makes arrival and departure very easy. The room itself was basic but functional, perfectly fine for a short stay.

The receptionist on the day of my arrival was extremely unpleasant. Their attitude was dismissive and unwelcoming, which left a negative first impression.

Attitude

The location was definitely a plus. I chose this hotel for its proximity to the train station, but also to the city center and it perfectly served both purposes. I will surely come back another time.

Nothing, everything was better than I expected.

We loved everything. Especially the price as it was not expensive for us to stay there. The hotel has a breakfast option. (But we did not try a breakfast there, as we wanted to explore every morning a different boulangerie and patisserie.)The customer service was exceptional. The staff was very friendly and always helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect. We were walking to the medieval city centre all the time. The hotel is practically in the city centre. The airport is so close to the city centre that we walked from and to it, and it took us only 38 minutes. What an adventure! To be able to walk from the airport to the city centre. We really enjoyed that. We enjoyed Poitiers and we will be back.

We liked everything.

Nothing really, it was very basic with a small room.It was very hot and the receptionist gave us a fan to try and keep us cool so thank you to her for that. At the end of the day it’s a budget hotel so don’t expect comfort and opulence.

Small room, in a run down area of town. No aircon tv didn’t work, thank god we could get on Wi-Fi

Where it was located

Was not what we booked did Not ressemble the rooms we wanted no climatisation no microwave no water to drink bathroom moldy .Orderd a room with courtyard view got road side very noisy

Nothing liked about this place. We made the booking, and later discovered that we had to pay an extra 20€ for our pets! Not advertised anywhere and I found this to be very disappointing. Had they had been upfront when booking then that would have been fine. Very underhanded and deceptive. Would not consider this place ever again and will warn others against staying there.

Dishonesty

Very clean, good price, accepts dogs. Convenient and comfortable.
