Hôtel Central

Location is literally the best in all of Poitiers—overlooks the square in front of Hotel de Ville. Very charming property. Kind and friendly staff. Plenty of hot water. Nice decor, and clean. You really can't ask for anything more at that price point.

Elevator is a bit small...you might need to take two trips if you've got a lot of luggage. The front desk is staffed only intermittently, and the front entrance is locked at night. Your room key opens the front entrance door, so it's not a big issue, but some might find the arrangement closer to a guest house than an actual hotel. It didn't bother me.

Magnificent balcony with view on the city hall

Very thin walls. So as of 6:00 you could hear the other guests packing and leaving as if they were in the same room.

Location is excellent. Refurbished room was nice. Beds comfortable.

Water pressure in shower was quite low. Staff person at entry was not very knowledgeable about restaurants or museums. She forgot to give us the code to get into the building and should have offered two room cards. She failed to point out that there was an elevator but was okay watching us shlep our bags up the stairs. On the other hand, she was polite.

Basic room but clean. Bathroom door didn’t close properly. Very tiny lift but useful.

The room had an unpleasant odor. The room was on a busy square and was not soundproof. Our sleep was disturbed by people being loud until around 4:30 AM.

Excellent room excellent location

No hot water on arrival. I ran the water for 15 minutes. Water had improved on departure.

The room was very tiny. There was no kettle.It was a bit cold.

As the name says, very central. Room had a great view over the square and all you would expect for the price.

Noise in the evening, parking in parking garage Hotel de Ville was busy at Saturday night, small parking places.

the view from the balcony is amaing! The reception is very accommodating and nice. The area is full of restaurants!

Everything was good, the location excellent, the parking OK (though I may be getting a ticket!), clean, comfortable, and the breakfast served in our room was delicious. Perfect.

I had understood we had payed the charge for breakfast inclusive in our booking price. The hotel insisted that it was not and we must ay extra for the breakfast. We paid an additional Euros 9 per head for the breakfast, but it was very good breakfast, brought to our room very promptly.

Entrance door a bit difficult to spot

Great location on town square. Breakfast with a view from the balcony. Car park 2mins walk away which was cheap overnight and plenty of spaces. Stroll to the old town and shops.

Excellent location and comfortable room with nice furnishings. Staff friendly and helpful.

Bathroom and public areas a little cramped.

The location is bang in the centre and looking out onto the square! The bed, pillows and bedding was so comfortable, Always hot water and fresh towels aswell.Maid came in and cleaned the room daily, leaving fresh towels water etc.All staff were very nice and helpful

We liked everything except one night there was a lot of noise from the square which affected sleep, it was only the one night and suppose to be expected due to central location

The staff were super helpful and pleasant, putting up with our mispronounced French! The bedroom was a good size. The location was excellent for restaurants and shops. A perfect base for visiting mediaeval architecture and Roman churches.The continental breakfast was excellent.

Occasionally waste bin wasn’t emptied.
