Perfectly clean room and bathroom, friendly host, and a delicious breakfast. This was a perfect base for us to discover Kandy's surroundings.
White Lodge was our favourite place that we stayed Sri Lanka. Most places were great but White Lodge was exceptional. The staff were helpful without trying to sell their agenda. The room was model and clean, bathroom had working hot water with good pressure and the balcony had a lovely view over Kandy. The bedding was new and clean. The towels fluffy. There's a community kitchen and fridge so you can make tea or coffee anytime and keep your drinks cold in the fridge. There's unlimited bottled water available. Breakfast was delicious and slightly different each day. It's a short downhill walk to the Tooth Temple and Kandy Lake. White Lodge is on a hill offering views so the walk up can be challenging, but if your like us, we got a tuk tuk for 200-300r. The highlight of Kandy for us was White Loage and the welcoming family

Host was able to arrange for a early breakfast and gave clear information about all stuff in the room: wifi access, kettle, Hair dryer, helped us with charging adapter. He also offered us Front row reservation for Kandy lake club dance show, but we could not make use of it, as we directly reached the dance show venue due to lack of time. Host was always reachable and responding quickly in whatsapp from the time of booking. As long as we give clear prior information, most hosts are tourist friendly and they take care of our requirements.

Cons -

Like most good accommodation in Kandy, it's a bit farther from the city center, but a quick tuktuk ride is all it takes.
If there is something to improve, probably breakfast options could have been more. Also one suggestion: Separate hot and cold shower was little difficult to bath, may be a bucket and mug could help guests. Just as FYI: Approach to the place is in a narrow lane, so if you are reaching by night, that might feel little tough.
