    Pros +

    • Parked right in front
    • Great location, everything walkable, plenty of parking in front of hotel. Plenty of character, a little tired in places but still good value for money.
    • Easy walk to the centre of Amboise and to the main attractions.Very quiet location.Helpful staff. Our family had a twin room for the children with a door connecting to the main bedroom, so very accessible. The train station is about a 1.5 km walk over two lovely stone bridges.

    Cons -

    • We were satisfied
    • Maybe more savoury options for breakfast.
    • Nothing, it fulfilled our requirements and exceeded expectation of a 2-star hotel.

Lot of room for the four adults and some to spare. Very friendly and helpful staff. Quiet and great AC.

Very accommodating staff, friendly and helpful.Excellent location.Hotel is an authentic old Amboise building.

Maybe more savoury options for breakfast.

Room was spacious and comfortable. Shower screens needed a little attention, which I am sure will have been attended to.Location is ideal for exploring Amboise on foot.Breakfast is typically French/continental and reasonably priced.Le Patron, Laurent(?), was extremely helpful and accommodating. I was a little unwell when we arrived(a touch of flu), and we were able to extend our stay and keep the same room. Also called taxis for us and willingly provided local information. This is an amiable, family-run hotel"Thanks a lot/merci bien/ diolch yn fawr iawn!" du Pays-de-galles.

Nothing, it fulfilled our requirements and exceeded expectation of a 2-star hotel.

Great location 10 mins into village centre- parking facilities outside hotel

Not the best first impression however room was comfortable

Location and value good. Walkable to restaurants in the city. Good location to visit the chateaux's.

Breakfast seemed like a nice spread, but we both got sick after eating it. Not sure how fresh the food was. Ate only one breakfast. Beds were very firm. Hot water kettle in the room was very dirty. Room size average for European rooms. No elevator for upper floors, if that's an issue for you.

Very noisy, not clean, very poor facilities, uncomfortable beds

    7PhilipPosted on: 10-5-2025

Good location near the centre of Ambrose old town. Easy walking distance to multiple restaurants and to the Chateau.

Very small room with scarcely enough room to walk around the bed.

    9NeilPosted on: 9-30-2025

Good location in the middle of the town a few minutes walk to the castle. There is a place to park the motorbike. Reasonable price, Room was a little small but good enough.

Nothing to complain about, although they might want to brighten the outside up a bit. I wasn't sure that the hotel was actually open when I got there.

Checking in was so good! After a succession of places with key boxes where you never see the owner and where you don't get the code until the day itself - stress! - this was great. A real hotel, where unlike some of the other places, the sheets are visibly clean, the towels are just right, and everything you need is to hand. We slept really, really well and despite the fact that the room was rather small, the bed was perfectly big enough. The hotel is easy to find and within easy walking distance of the main area for restaurants etc, so all good. An address to remember. And they had a kettle in the room! This is very rare in France, so a major plus. The breakfast was excellent and copious, if a bit expensive, but as you could eat all you wanted, the price was justifiable. Ham, cheese and scrambled egg were on the menu, along with the usual French breakfast goodies.

The only thing I wasn't entirely thrilled with was the size of the room. With only overnight bags, it was manageable, but if you bring proper suitcases, you're going to find it a bit of a challenge.

Pleasant family run hotel located in a good central location. Secure cycle storage in a covered garage. Didn't have breakfast but it smelt delicious!

For us, the room was a tad too small, but we appreciate it is a period building located in a very good central location.
