Pros +
- Location
- Lovely staff, great location.
- If you are in the area, this is your best choice. The breakfast was better than I expected, both hot and cold selections.Room was very comfortable and transportation was all within a short walk(some of it was actually free). Our one day stay turned into three.
Cons -
- No small fridge, our coffee was not replaced, we had to get in lobby. We got room 216. We had to climb a spiral stairscase with our luggage which was very hard since my husband has back problems. Front desk person should have warned us or given a different room.
- Slightly difficult garage parking if you have a car.
- There are major design issues. As an hotelier/restaurateur I have had, occasionally, to contend with “designers” who are merely decorators:I suggest the “designer” stays three nights, with a suitcase full of clothes, and experiences the following. (It’s a new hotel company so their visit will prevent these inadequacies being repeated in future properties.)Bedroom:No chest of drawers, very limited space for hanging and storing unpacked clothes. Living out of a suitcase for a three night stay is aggravating, when there is space for a chest of drawers in the room. There’s no air conditioning. A deliberate policy as a nod towards climate change (and energy costs). There is a fan and one “can open a window”. Given how increasingly hot summers are becoming this is inadequate.Towels placed on a shelf in the bedroom and not in the bathroom, so when you wash your hands and turn around to find a towel there isn’t one, so you use the bath mat. There’s plenty of room at the end of the bath/shower to put a shelf for towels. No lounge area. An hotel without a lounge?!Breakfast area very poorly designed; congested as guests have to crisscross the crowded room to locate breakfast items eg cereal is nowhere near the milk, which is on a different counter. The bread is across the room from the butter and jam. Chaotic. The staff try very hard but the incompetent design is a major fault. They hand wash plates, cups, cutlery behind the service counter!

Our rooms were remarkably comfy and big, very clean. The staff on site and the digital concierge were all very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious! We will be back for sure, as the location is central to Asterix park, Senlis, Chantilly, Pierrefonds, and more.
Staff, location, clean, new bedrooms, comfortable bed. The concierge, Clément, isn’t on property but was able to give very good assistance with parking for a very large car!The staff were all very helpful and hospitable, but let down by entirely avoidable design faults detailed below.“The Brasserie des Arts” next door, not part of the hotel, is a really good restaurant. Excellent well priced menu, good wine list, delightful efficient Patron and team, great ambiance.

A perfect location in the centre on the canal. We stayed in a beautiful suite. It was so spacious, the beds so comfy and the staff exceptional. It’s the little extras like being greeted with a bottle of water on a hot day and their friendly personal service that makes the difference. Clearly the owner or manager cares unlike those big non descript hotels. I highly recommend you stay here over any big 4 star hotels in tje town. You can walk everywhere too and there is free parking in a car park 3 mins away which we chose over the underground pay car park in the hotel.
Nothing. Everything was perfect
Friendly, recently refurbished and well located in the center of the cityGreat breakfast with bread from the best local Boulangerie
We trully enjoyed staying in Alfred Hotel Compiègne! The hotel is very clean and comfortable. We love the room (208) especially the big windows, and the bed is amazingly comfortable! We had tour de France for one and a half week, and this hotel has the best bed we ever had!The location is also very great, very close to the charming city center of Compiègne and close by to many nice restaurants. The Head of Concierge team - Clément and his staffs were very friendly, polite and helpful. They love our dog and make our dog felt like home.During check-out, the concierges offered us mineral water to bring so we have water during our trip. This is really a unique service, we never had this kind of hospitality before even when we stayed in 5 stars hotel. Well done!!For sure we will come back to Alfred Hotel again!
Nice hotel close to the city Center. In front of a big parking plac. It is always pleasant when travelling by car.
quick sheck in. Feindly staff, confortable room
So friendly with great concierge Clement.. very helpful. Garage for the car and everything provided
One small point would be dining room which needs more atmosphere at night. Fi e for breakfast. However food was good and the cocktails.
Nice, well organised Hotel in teh city centre.Nice staff and very good breakfast.Clean rooms with good beds.
Spacious room. Clean with comfortable bed Good shower
Not many sockets. Very small kettle in one place but nowhere close to a socket to plug it in. No milk for teas and coffees. Basic tea and coffee provisions. Felt quite basic
In a very good position, quiet room, extremely clean, comfortable beds, bath and shower in bathroom, very good breakfast, friendly staff and good value for money
It would be nice if a small area in the breakfast room was set aside so that one could sit and buy tea / coffee at all times perhaps via a vending machine whilst waiting for friends etc
My husband and I had the most amazing week at the Alfred Hotel during the New Year’s holiday. From start to finish, everything about our stay exceeded expectations! The rooms were immaculately clean, and the shower was fantastic—a true highlight after a long day of exploring. But what really set this hotel apart was the exceptional service. Every single staff member went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable.Breakfast each morning was a delight, with a wide selection of delicious options to start the day right. Axelle, who managed the breakfast service, was incredibly accommodating and always greeted us with a warm smile. What a wonderful way to start the day!In the evenings, the breakfast area transformed into a cozy space for dinner and drinks starting at 6 PM. What a treat! The barman, Paul, crafted the most incredible cocktail, the “Pomme de Feu”—his own creation. It was one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. Make sure to ask for it if you visit! The front desk staff, particularly Nasma, was outstanding. She was so helpful, providing great recommendations and always ready to assist with a cheerful attitude.Staying at the Alfred Hotel felt like being welcomed into a home away from home. The warm, friendly atmosphere and attention to detail made our New Year’s holiday truly special. We can’t wait to come back and would highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for a perfect getaway!
Cosy & quiet room, very comfortable bed, excellent breakfast, friendly staff
Bathroom is a old style with shower in a bath, but functional
Very center. Car parking. Friendly staff. Clean.
Great location, charming room with views to the river and also across the rooftops. Staff were so friendly. Wonderful breakfast with delicious bread, croissants, fruit and lots more! I loved the flan. Really tastefully decorated, I took home some ideas for decorating. Cocktails were served in the bar in the evening but we just had wine. There was a lovely calm but lively vibe.
Our room was a little cold but we snuggled up in the very comfortable beds. Parking underground was very tight but day 2 we parked opposite which is easier and also cheaper.
Underground parking was a bonus. The breakfast was stunning, one our best ever, but a second coffee machine is urgently needed.
The staff welcomed our family of 4, accommodated our needs, shared about the “perks” like 24 hour tea and coffee. The breakfast was supreme!!!!
There’s nothing.
