Royal Palm Resort on the Beach

Really nice pool area, close to beach and walking trails. Nice updated apartment (17F) great views, good quality bed. Bathroom with double sinks and new washing machine. Lots of kitchen gadgets. ladies at the desk were very helpful

First apartment they gave us was awful. Very old and outdated and not kept up. But they did move us to the newer unit, which was great. One thing to be aware of is a limited supply of towels, no facecloths, no things like pepper and salt etc in kitchen.

The apartment was spacious and close to the beach and airport.

The room and furniture was old and dated. The room smelt musty and the wall paper in the corridors was also dated.

Pool tiles really slippery, even just to walk through to get out to the beach access after a small amount of rain. We had a couple of decent slips just walking slowly. Owners of our unit had locked up cupboards and doors with chains and left a handwritten note in one of the sinks to "please not put water in that side of the sink". There was a drip bowl under the sink and the dishwasher was broken. Not sure if they're related but appears there was a known issue. Pillows are not good but all of this was outweighed by the amazing views. Windows in the kids room on 17th floor opened right up with no safety barrier or fly screen to stop kids climbing out window on to the side deck.

The view was spectacular. There were more than enough plates and cutlery there for our extended family when they visited.

It would be an improvement if there was a coffee machine, which most places we've stayed at have.

Pool, view and location are excellent. Resort facilities are beautiful. The rooms left a lot to be desired in terms of cleanliness and standard of rooms in general.

Booked 3 rooms of deluxe standard. All were different regarding cleanliness (we all had to wash all our glasses, no toilet paper in one bathroom), safety: one room with a 3 year old had no locking bedroom window on floor 15 (totally illegal as well as frightening), others had no screen doors or window coverings. One room had aircon, 2 rooms did not (these were the ones without screens) and 2nd bedroom in one room had no drawers for children to unpack their clothes so they had to live out of their suitcases for a week. our room had original kitchen ( we used to stay here in the 1980s and 1990s; same. our bathrooms were not renovated. one room had a renovated kitchen but nothing else was renovated.

We had some issues with wifi and the provisions they supplied were a bit miserable (2 rolls of toilet paper and no salt or pepper?).

I didn’t like any there. False advertising

Advertised as 4 stars bat it’s not more than 2 stars. Kids playroom at the car basement full of exhaust fumes you can hardly breathe. Not safe for kids. Gym is also at car parking basement full of exhaust fumes. Exercising there will do more harm than good. Water in the spa is lukewarm at best. Overall facilities are shocking, we booked there for a week and left after 2 days and booked another place.

Beautiful spot and the heated pool with beach, parks all the restaurants and shopping pretty close by is perfect. The staff were all friendly and more than happy to help in any way. Can't fault the building or the staff there.

The dishwasher was putrid and we needed to get it cleaned. The washing machine was the same and we didn't want to use it to wash our clothes. There was a visitors book in the room and people had been complaining about the disgusting couch since 2016. It was just very old and run down, the chairs on the balcony were falling apart etc. Old. Dust everywhere, cobwebs and the standing fans were even rusted. Saying all that, we would still stay there again. Not many rooms have aircon so be sure to request specifically if you want it. The owners just need to show it some love.

The apartment was pleasant, the view was excellent, and the pool and BBQ areas were good. The location suited us as we attended a North Kirra sporting event. Although there was a bus to Kirra, which had good times, we chose to drive.

While the apartment was pleasant, had I read the fine print more carefully, we would have chosen one with air conditioning. There were fans in each room, which was good, and there was an afternoon breeze to help cool the inside, but the humidity made it quite uncomfortable at times. Please find below some suggestions for improvement. We are always quite surprised to find a lack of consumables in an apartment. Sure we need to buy groceries, but it does irk me when we also need to buy staples such as toilet paper, alfoil, glad wrap, salt and pepper, oil, dishwasher soap, and more garbage bags we then just leave behind or, if possible, take home. This has happened a couple of times when staying in Qld compared to other places where these are provided. It doesn't have to be the expensive brands. There was a hotchpotch of crockery, cutlery, and glasses. Having a pool area where no glass can be taken, providing a set of plastic tumblers and glasses would have been useful. It was great to have plastic plates. There were 3 toasters, one of which flicked the safety switch so we left it out with a note. Considering it was an apartment for 4, a large saucepan and frypan would have been useful also a pair of scissors in the kitchen. The exhaust over the stove had a light that didn't function, and the instructions on the oven/grill were faded such that a couple couldn't be read. A clock in the main bedroom would also be useful.

Right on the beach, ocean view, heated pool and spacious apartment that was a close walk to shops and a pirate park. Really a great holiday for the whole family

The steam room wasn't working. The apartment wasn't cleaned properly ie toe nails on balcony. Lounge smelt of cigarettes. Sliding doors didn't slide properly. Window held closed with drnk can.

Absolutely filthy. Main bathroom dirty. Toilet smelt like urine. No washing up liquid for dishes. Had to use a cake of soap. One small sachet of dishwasher powder. Only one t towel for four days. No spare bags for rubbish bin. Mould on the shower screen in ensuite. Cardboard stuck in window frame to stop rattling. My friends had apartment on level no one. Hers was just beautiful and fully renovated. Ours was so disappointing. Wasn’t renovated. No aircon If you’re staying here ask for a renovated apartment. Don’t stay on the seventh floor in this apartment

Location & amenities remain great & we will definitely stay here again as this was our second time. Beach & surrounding cafes & restaurants were all good & a fabulous variety with supermarket all within walking distance

The room we were assigned by the complex was tired & had some maintenance challenges which the team at the complex were quick to respond to those they could. The views were amazing but sitting on couches where the leather is disintegrating & chipped plates & cups isn’t a great experience when you are treating friends & this wasn’t known ahead of time. The photos on website were obviously taken from several different units & not just the one we were assigned. Also frustrating to be told that none of their apartments came with coffee machines, to then find one in the room which had we known we could have packed Nespresso pods for

Really comfy apartment. Fully kitted kitchen. Great pool and right on the beach. Could I need anything more?! Really close to family I was visiting.

I liked the placement of the building in relation to the beach. I liked how it didn't feel like surfers.Loved the shower.

Lack of air-conditioning in bedrooms.Mismatched cutlery and crockery and cooking utensils. Everything looked as though they had replaced their stuff at home with new stuff and dumped the old stuff in the unit. Or bought it all from a second hand shop.The TV was little and the reception was poor so streaming programs in foxtel was so bad at night we gave up trying to watch TV.There was nothing to say it was a motel that only provided 1 night of personal care products and then supply your own.The fans were old and rusted.The curtains weren't hooked up completely and you used pegs to hold them closed.It just seemed as though the owner spent the absolute minimum on anything in the unit which was extremely disappointing because you knew they just didn't care enough to even have matching crockery. It actually gave the vibe of..I've taken your money and too bad if you don't like it.
