Hôtel Restaurant du Pont-Vieux

Great, welcoming staff. Location is superb, only minutes from the motorway and surrounded by restaurants and has its own bar. Highly recommended. No way to beat it for value for money.

Rooms are a little sparse, but highly acceptable at this price point. Access is by a cramped spiral staircase which means no disabled access.

Spiral staircase to room terrible for a disabled guest like myself. No sign of staff for breakfast, we just left.Nowhere to leave key, we left it on the spiral stairs.

Restaurant and bar closed very early on Sunday so we had to eat in the room

The location was beautiful and easy to find - the owner could not have been more friendly, helpful and was very good company. I would definitely stay there again. Also, did food and drink on the premises!

Not really - it was basic but clean and functional for the price.

Difficult access to room, a very narrow circular staircase. Breakfast very basic.

Ideal location near A75. Basic overnight accommodation with parking and very clean. Good breakfast. Restaurant on site.

Local parking. Friendly proprietor,allowed access to room before stated check in . Large dinner with good mix of veg. But wife’s salmon was underdone. Room Ok, comfortable bed.

Somewhat stale smell when first arriving in room. Perhaps could leave the room doors open after rooms are cleaned rather than shut them all up. Close to busy street (altho little traffic during the night so was not disturbed). Could do with some hooks and towel rails in the bathroom, nothing to dry stuff on. Ok for us but access up narrow spiral staircase could be problematic for anyone with large luggage or mobility issues.

All good. We've stayed here before and knew what to expect. The rooms are simple/basic, but clean and comfortable. The real plus factor is Pierre, the owner, he is such a nice man. A great chef, a lovely host who cannot do enough for you, and so helpful. The town of St. Flour is a lovely, safe place and the hotel reflects this.

As previous reviews have mentioned...access to the rooms is awkward, via a winding staircase.

Good value for money, good location and curious access through an old tower via spiral stairs.Restaurant for dinner was good with a great variety of dishes.

I don't understand why there are hotels without air conditioning nowadays. I arrived and it was over 30° and it was hard to sleep.

Nothing.I am 71 & relatively fit, but someone more infirm might struggle with the ( spiral staircase) access to bedrooms.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful and scenic site at the base of the castle town of St. Flour. The exterior was medieval and the interior was modern and felt like home. Peter (Pierre) was an excellent chef and caretaker.

The Owner is just the nicest man in France, whose English is first rate. Quirky and cosy, breakfast was simple but great quality.
