    Pros +

    • Recently renovated beautiful belle epoque hotel.Large comfortable and luxurious chambre. Bathroom excellent.
    • Rooms were clean.
    • Clean, big rooms. Lovely shower and clean bathroom overall.

    Cons -

    • Rooms were drab, outfitted for my grandmother's era, clean but shower drain clogged [and broken] so you stood in a pool of dirty water. They have a great photographer for their online pictures; unfortunately, the experience doesn't match. Hospitality basics were missed, no coffee in the room, and when you ask for a Cappuccino made with soy milk [because you can't have cow dairy], and they bring you a cow milk Cappuccino and tell you their "machine" doesn't use soy milk, that's not only lame that they don't have a proper espresso maker for hotel of caliber; but its just seems a bit out-of-touch that you would bother making the whole thing with cow milk and put a side of soy milk on the platter. I'll skip this place next time.
    • No restaurant available for evening meal. (But they will make you a cheese board on request).
    • The room we stayed in this time was a little tired it just needs a freshen up.Everything else was very good comfortable and clean

The hotel was exceptionally beautiful and in a great location within walking distance to historic sites, the train station, shops, restaurants, etc. The breakfast buffet was also excellent. I will definitely be looking to book Mercure hotels in the future.

The hotel is located in Moulins city centre, very close to the cathedral and at walking distance from all other monuments. It has a private parking, which is very useful if you are coming by car. The room we stayed was big and had all the necessary comforts.

Easy to find with good secure on site parking.Pleasant and helpful staff with good facilitiesBreakfast was good with a wide choice for all tastes

The decor etc feels a bit dated, but it was probably meant t be like that and was consistent, and clean

Great central location, private car park and an excellent breakfast.

    All was good!

We arrived and parked in the courtyard behind the hotel. It was a very hot day, so was pleased to see the hotel had a small pool for those in our party who wanted to swim. However even better was that we walked in to a superbly cool air conditioned room with a very good shower and bath. The breakfast provided lots of choice and was available for 6.30am which is useful when you need an early start. The location of the hotel was very good - in the centre of town close to local restaurants. We finished our evening listening to gentle live music at a nearby bar. Having known nothing about Moulins as a town, it was a very pleasant stay.

There was a few hiccups at breakfast with solid milk and a fresh orange juice machine that was broken, but the choice was so wide it was not a problem.

Exceptional hotel, staff very friendly, lovely comfortable room - superb breakfast.

Breakfast was perhaps a little pricey at €19 per person - although it was excellent quality

    Room small, staff indifferent

    Good Location

The Annex area should put the heating on the communal area. If they have guests. Some of the staff had an issue with giving some service!

    9SuePosted on: 10-9-2023

    Great location and comfortable hotel.

A little expensive for what is an old but comfortable hotel.

    9JainePosted on: 9-28-2023

Room was lovely. Breakfast was very nice. On site parking. Receptionist was very kind.

Restaurant closed for dinner. Gardens need attending.

    9StephenPosted on: 7-31-2023

Very attractive hotel located just a short walk to the centre of town. Free parking in own car park. We stayed in a separate annexe next to the car park which was nicely designed. A very good breakfast

    9IsabelPosted on: 7-19-2023

Private parking, swimming pool with full sun, amazing breakfast, very helpful staff. I didn't like our original room and asked if it was possible to change for one with the same price. The receptionist was truely lovely and changed us.

I didn't like our original room

    beautiful building, great location

The standard rooms were tired and small, we had to upgrade

    9JohnPosted on: 9-13-2022

    Great location and lovely rooms

    Breakfast a bit pricy !

    8DavidPosted on: 8-30-2022

Excellent location, an ideal stop off on our drive to the South of France.

Dirty towels on the floor of our room. The staff corrected this quickly and in compensation waived the car park fee.
