Pros +
- History of the building was interesting. Lovely sea view . V comfortable room.
- We liked the location right on the sea, close to the centre and walking area. The room was great and beds very comfortable.
- Location (downtown and close to the sea). Friendly staff. Shower. Quiet.
Cons -
- The absence of a dining room. Would like to have had dinner at the hotel.
- The coffee maker was broken in our room, but coffee was offered in the dining room.
- Room temp controlled at front desk. No refrigerator, no safety box. We were assigned a handicap room - not what we reserved (they moved us to a regular room the 2nd night). Regular room is small. Bad smell in the bathroom.

Sea view, location, service
That we'd only booked one night
Great sea view and comfortable bed. Relatively spacious room and bathroom.
Reception staff abrupt and unhelpful.Bathroom a little shabby and could do with a refresh. No functional electric car chargers and very limited on site parking.Very few hotel facilities given the price of the room. Too much trying to get more money all the time.
Enjoyed our stay room position was excellent and Breakfast good.
Reception was sloppy- room keys didn’t work neither did the TV remote . Lack of any literature about Granville-street maps etc. enjoyed
room size, breakfast
no handsoap on arrival, the staff was not very knowledgeable about the activities around the hotel, didn't receive the ocean view as we had requested and paid for
Good location, private car park (rather narrow, but fine for a small-mid car). Very clean and spacious rooms.
It's a typical Mercure hotel and perfectly comfortable. There is on-site parking in the garage which is imperative as hardly any in the nearby streets. BUT it is necessary to book this in advance. The breakfast was good with a spectacular view over the sea.
We thought the constant sound of humming was coming from the air conditioning but we learnt when checking out that it is in fact caused by the nearby medical centre. A disappointment and something that has been complained about by many guests and we had asked for a quiet room.
Location
The ‘sea view terrace’ of our supposed superior room overlooked (at the same level) the hotel’s large terrace where people went to drink and sunbathe and the yard of a rehabilitation center where people went to smoke and chat. Not at all what I thought I had paid extra for. Hotel had no other rooms to move us to and offered no discount at check out.
Location Helpful staff
No restaurant
People who work there were very polite and helpful and that was true in all areas (reception, breakfast, cleaning etc).Nice breakfast.Beautiful view of the sea from the breakfast area.
It would be nice to have a bottle of water in the room.
Lovely view and service in Restaurant.
Parking
Amazing hotel on the shore. Great staff, great breakfast with amazing view, large room! Will definitely stay again. BTW they have private parking!
Nothing. Everything was great
Decent price, parking was not as tough as we worried. Good location but a bit up hill. It was a close walk to the city and sea. Loved the place!!!
Not much food selection in the restaurant as it was Christmas.
Exceptional location Comfortable well equipped room with fabulous sea view Friendly efficient staff Onsite parking, however narrow Noon check-out
Breakfast was average for a steep price
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast.
Access to the hotel by car can be a challenge and their car park does not accommodate large cars such as X5 BMW.The room was quite cramped and felt quite claustrophobic.
Clean, comfortable room accessible by lift. Efficient reception staff. Free parking.
No evening dining facilities which one would expect at a hotel with a large dining room with panoramic views of the sea "le grande large" . No access from the promenade into the hotel which appeared to be locked; leaving us with steep climb to hotel. Luckily we're relatively fit at 80yrs. No advice regarding parking ie., lower level of car park more convenient space for parking.
The room was two-floor (king-size bed upstairs), clean, with side seaview, even a Nespresso machine with capsules was available. There was a place to park the car in the garage. Nice sea view from the restaurant terrass.
Driving into the garage can be tricky for a long or a large SUV car.
Well situated in town/beachClean & well serviced
Only problem we had was having to ask for toilet rolls!!
