Pros +
- comfy room and good pool.
- The breakfast was good. The room was large. The bed comfortable. The shower excellent.
- A wonderful experience staying in this hotel. we had booked a suite with huge French windows and a balcony overlooking the garden. it was exceptional.
Cons -
- Were not advised in advance that gastronomic restaurant was not open at all. Not advised during stay of short opening hours of terrace restaurant at lunchtime. Very limited options of wine by the glass in restaurant. We were advised a greater choice was available if gastonomic restaurant had been open.
- There was no light weight blanket in the room ,only a heavy comforter on the bed.
- Carpets in our room 5 were very stained and tatty

A wonderful experience staying in this hotel. we had booked a suite with huge French windows and a balcony overlooking the garden. it was exceptional.
Room size was very good and the hotel grounds were stunning. A lively pool
Carpets in our room 5 were very stained and tatty
Beautiful old building, nicely restored and decorated. Our room was large with modern en-suite. The staff were very helpful and there was parking in the front courtyard.
The room could have benefitted from more/ brighter lighting as it was a bit dim, and it was a shame that the restaurant closed on Sunday evenings as the menu looked very interesting.
Beautiful old French villa with lovely shady gardens and pool. Good food. Pleasant service. Laval is a nice town with a lovely medieval district
No AC or fan in 35degree heat is no joke. The room we had was extremely overpriced- alleged family ‘suite’ was 2 rooms, only one shower and toilet in a cupboard in one room- not what was advertised. Fine but not as nice as the hotel we stayed in the week before for half the price and definitely not 500£+ /night worth
Location and the small terrace from our room
The hotel is broken up with no lobby
Friendly staff, great ambiance, lovely food, peaceful garden, secure parking.
For the price paid I’d like the leisure and spa facilities to be free for guests.
The location is good. The property has great character. The garden is lovely.
Great property but short staffed when we arrived so had to wait 10 mins for the one member of staff to finish with other guests. Rooms are great sidewise and the character of the property is beautiful, but the practicalities of the rooms have not been fully thought through. Bedside tables too tall for the bed - silly thing but when its right you don't even question it.The outdoor pool was not yet open.
Central location, very friendly staff, beautiful spacious room, free carpark, dogfriendly.
Check in was good, staff friendly, room lovely, gardens and area was lovely too.
Only one robe, one hand towel and one bath towel in the room and two sachets of coffee ( one decaf), there were two of us in the room. I did request more but they never appeared. Dinner in the patio bistro was very slow, duck off the bone was on the menu but when it arrived it was chicken on the bone. We had to ask twice for the wine we ordered and it arrived just as we were finishing the main course. They forgot about our cheese and dessert so had to remind them, the cheese arrived but no biscuits or bread, however bread arrived just as the cheese was nearly eaten . It wasn’t very busy in the restaurant so not sure why they got everything so wrong . They were very quick knocking on our room door 5 minutes after we left the restaurant as we hadn’t signed the bill. Breakfast was adequate , not a great deal of choice
The shower in the room was really the only part that was acceptable.
On arrival we were allocated room seven (7), but the safe didn’t work. The staff didn’t have an emergency key for the safe, so we had no choice but to change rooms, which meant moving all the clothes we had already unpacked!!There was no lounge area in the hotel. The only place to sit and relax, was in the passageway on the first floor, where all the residents on the first floor walk, or in the case of the children who were totally out of control, run. The electrical cupboard made some horrendous noises and the lightening was continually switching on and off, so one couldn’t really sit there and relax, but there was nowhere else to sit in the hotel. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant on the first evening of our stay. I asked the waiter if the hotel had any smoke salmon (salmon fume), but I was informed there wasn’t any. At breakfast the following morning, there was a plate full of smoke salmon (salmon fume). Needless to say, we didn’t have dinner at the hotel on the second evening of our stay. The bed in our room was more like a trampoline! The bed was awful. I hate to think when the mattress was last replaced. The carpet was heavily stained in places and there was evidence of damp on the outside wall, which needed to be attended to.In the room, there were no niceties. No biscuits, chocolates and nothing in the minibar, just a bottle of water. The products provided were of a poor quality. There wasn’t any shampoo, or conditioner, just shower gel.The breakfast in very limited. They ran out of smoke salmon (salmon fume). There is a distinct lack of staff and even though the hotel claim all their staff speak English, they do not!The swimming pool was not available, as the hotel state it is out of season. The swimming pool is only heated from June to September. Why couldn’t the hotel heat the pool all year round, or at least from the start of spring until the end of autumn? The answer is profit. The staff informed me it cost too much to heat.
Lovely rooms & garden & pool
No lift or air- con on a very hot night
Disappointing.
There was not enough staff working at the hotel. The hotel charge top money and provide very little in return.I had planned to have breakfast, but gave up as no one could understand my request.
Room was excellent, with private terrace. Easy parking for 5 motorcycles. Good restaurant meal.
No eggs at breakfast !
accomodation
resteraunt facilities especially on sunday , additional charge to use sauna.
This was our 2nd visit to this hotel which has been changed out of all recognition from the slightly quirky hotel we remembered. We enjoyed our visit and I hope we can return in the future for a longer period.
The swimming pool was nice .
The reception staff were miserable, no greeting .We were shown to our room through the breakfast room -which was very garish, not a place you would want to have breakfast. The room was small and dark and disappointing, not at all like the photos on booking .com , We found the room depressing, and it was decorated very cheaply. No coffee machine .We paid extra for a room with a terrace , there was no air con , so we had to leave the door open all night for fresh air.The staff need more training in hospitality .On checking out , again No smiles. We wouldn’t stay at this hotel again .
The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool is beautiful. Decent Breakfast.
Rooms look like they haven't been renovated in the last 20 years.Overpriced for having such lackluster facilities
the location
The room was very sparse and cheaply finished there was no head board other than a cheap canvas which was a photo of a head board. No art work The toilet was so small you had to squeeze between the toilet and the wall to shut the door. the bed mattress was like sleeping on a sack of potatoes. the floor was cheap laminate without any rugs whatsoever. The windows opened in over so they had to be closed to get in to bed. over all for the extortionate price we paid it really was the worst room we have stayed in in France. It was clean.
