    Pros +

    • Quiet but an easy walk to activities and restaurants. Great views.
    • A very nice small hotel. The staff is very friendly. Location is okay. Not directly near the beach and the views are a little disappointing
    • We had a nice suite with a view of the ocean. The choice for breakfast was good and the staff were very attentive and friendly. The garage was secure and plenty of space for guest's vehicles.

    Cons -

    • I was very disappointed by their 'spa' as it was one of the main reasons for choosing this Hotel. Signed up for their Gold Package, which at a cost of R1800 for 2 hours, I expected a qualified therapist ... this was not the case. Existing staff do short courses for massage, pedi's etc. Room was located near staff quarters which was very noisy.
    • The noise from the gate to the car park - tip - don’t stay in rooms 5 or 6
    • We were charged for the water and ice!!! The staff took forever to do anything and the phone was broken

Warm welcome by friendly and helpful staff. Our room was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated with an ocean view. Breakfast was delicious, I loved their homemade muesli. They do not offer dinner at the Hotel, but arranged a reservation for us at The Wine Glass.

breakfast was sumptuous and in abundance , had the full cooked breakfast, which was perfectly done .

we stayed two nights , the only criticism would be that the complimentary bottled water and tea , coffee wasn’t replenished on the second day of stay , also a suggestion of a fixed mirror on the wall where the hair dryers are , so because of this it gave me the sense that a man had designed the room and not a women , other than that a perfect stay , thankyou xxx

The view and location was excellent. We asked for 2 x single beds which was confirmed but on arrival there was a large double bed which we had to share

Someone had used the shower and left their clothes and used bathrobe in the bathroom

The hotel is more aimed at foreigners, who will probably find the hotel to be fine. In our view, it is overpriced for the South African market. At R8000/night, we did not expect to have a view of neighbours’ laundry instead of the sea, insufficient room service and other amenities normally associated with a 5 star place etc. Rather go to the actual Marine Hotel at comparable prices.

Beautiful hotel , lovely and clean! Very well run. Staff super friendly and helpful!

    Beds were too hard .

The staff tried very hard and gave good service. The pool area was lovely. Our rooms were great and clean. However our one room an executive room did not have a fridge. Our hairdryer started burning when using it and there was no lift to our rooms.

The food was not good. On Christmas Day all restaurants were closed and there was hardly any food at the hotel and at 6pm we were told the kitchen was closed. We ordered two cheese sandwiches for lunch which took 90 mins to arrive and they were inedible. There is no toaster in the breakfast area so when the staff are busy serving other tables you have to wait for them to take the bread in the buffet you choose and toast it. Took a while to get 6 slices of toast.

After a terrible ordeal at Grand Lux Boitique Manor, One Marine Drive received us very professionally! They immediately helped us with a quick check-in and took us to a lovely room. Everything was 5 star! The staff, the breakfast, the location, decor!

    Absolutely nothing!

Its clean, rooms are big and the team are friendly (especially Benete)

Cheap concentrate orange juiceNo mirror for the provided hairdryer (or adapter for it)Pastries that ran out half way through breakfast serviceTV too small for the long large room

The breakfast was good with both hot and cold options The location was reasonable central around 15 minute walk to the main town with restaurants and shops The room was clean

The room was basic - no tea and coffee facilities or fridge The shower didn’t drain well and would quickly begin to spill into the main bathroom Generally the place was a little tired - the front door did not open well and when coming back to dinner it took a few minutes before the staff could open it to let us in

The level of service from all of the staff from the moment I booked was such an exceptional experience. The morning of checkin I requested if there was anything to make checkin go smoothly due the amount of time my family had spent traveling there. They responded quickly to my request. Once arrived the staff was even more of a delight to meet. So helpful and eager to assist us with our every need from parking, warm smiles and greetings, they handled our bags with care out of the car and up to our rooms, offered us refreshments right away prior to and during checkin, provided restaurant suggestions and even made a reservation for us, pleasantly chatted as they escorted us to our beautiful room, provided valuable tips for in town late evening parking safety and awareness, were very helpful with their available wine selections for a pre dinner cocktail which we were able to take up to our room, and were so caring to even advise how prawns are served in most of the restaurants with head/tail on in the local area when we were headed out for dinner that evening. The turndown service was so sweet, and such a clever touch with leaving a gummy whale on the pillows. The beds were so comfortable, I felt completely refreshed the next morning. The bathroom’s heated towel rack was such a delightful feature. And the bathrobes were comfortable and stylish. The honor snack bar and tea/coffee bar outside of my room on my floor was such a nice touch and convenience to not have to go downstairs, However, the stairs were not even an encumbrance, so I could enjoy a cup of tea on the balcony as I watched the sunrise and the waves roll in the bay.The breakfast setting downstairs was wonderful with a beautiful selection laid out on the self service table as well as several options on the menu. The food was delicious and everything ordered was served quickly and cooked perfectly.

I should have asked how to operate the television. I could only get one channel to play. But it wasn’t long and I was fast asleep in that comfy bed afterall.

Ocean view room, perfect. Breakfast, many options. Room, clean, tidy with a number of amenities. Gilbert at check in was very personable.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was big and comfortable. The turn down service and putting the room heating on was amazing for when I got back.

Room was great, but no view. The breakfast did not have my choice from the menu, so went elsewhere for breakfast

This is a stunning hotel with gorgeous rooms. I was there with 5 of my girl friends and we were treated like queens. The breakfast is good, great location but most of all the service is outstanding! The staff went above and beyond!

The bed was a little too hard for my preference
