Fantastic position with beautiful views over the ocean. Our room was very spacious, stylish, modern and comfortable. Service was excellent. The pool and garden were lovely - perfect spot for whale watching!

It was all great, we have no complaints.

Staff on reception were rudeWe arrived 12.30 and weather was foul did t expect to check in as it’s 3.00pm but ate in their restaurant as suggested to wait for our room went back at 2.30pm to be very rudely told our room was still not ready. We had to go out in the pouring rain to await our room. To the find that a room with a hot rub for which we paid extra didn’t come with a hot rub readily available no you had to heat it yourself and it takes 90 mins?! Why not ask if a guest plans to use and prepare it for them. The hotel is expensive which is fine if the service is a match… it was not!!

This is our 5th visit. Second time in manor house in a while. Rooms (5) very dissapointing. Cold , sterile, hospital style beds are unappealing and uncomfortable. Pebble pave on floors is cheap. Not a carpet or mat anywhere. The attempt at industrial beach chic didn't work.for us. It felt more like a hospital room.( I am in hospitality through various hotels over last 35 years - please take this constructively. )Nowhere to put shower amenities. Shower ran cold twice during final shower at 9am Monday. Frustrating. Rising damp with paint flaking off in toilet area. Rotted wood damaged by water on main vanity. Couch slippery and cheap as are the cushions. Homemade heaters are cumbersome and get in the way. there were 2 in a small space.Noisy room - can hear breakfast staff signing on and prepping the dining areas early. Staff are great and willing to do anything to please. Serving, breakfast, housekeeping , FOH all 5 star! Breakfast on both days short staffed.Fortunately we got a great rate online. Had we paid you standard rate I believe we would have been inclined to check out after seeing our room. Unfortunately we will not be back as the standard of the facilities has dropped considerably.Our industry is challenging as it is and I do hope you will try to use these comments only to your benefit.Kind regards Odette Rousseau

Great location and lovely views, big room

No aircon which is not great for £212 a night. Nearly got an electric shock from the plug socket it was throwing out sparks in the middle of the night.

Excellent central location. Wonderful views from our ocean facing room and the terrace.

I know that everything at the seaside either rusts, rots or perishes and the maintenance overhead at a property like this will be enormous. But it does look a little tatty in places. (Stairway carpet, sun bed mattresses)

Brilliant location!

Unfortunately due to very heavy storms in the area, there was a 3 day power outage which I really do feel the hotel could have notified us about prior to arrival. They reached out to see what time we would be checking in, so could just as easily said ‘hey, we have no electricity - so no hot water … maybe have a shower before arriving and bring a torch as we don’t know when electricity will be restored’. It would have taken the sting out of the tail upon guest arrival.

very central right in the heart of Hermanus with superb views over the ocean. Nice comfortable, clean hotel with very friendly staff.

Must be the only hotel I’ve ever stayed that charged us for an additional coffee at breakfast!This left quite a sour taste given its a relatively expensive hotel to stay at and seems v petty!The suite room did not represent value for money. There was a leaky shower unit, which completely soaked the bathroom floor. An army of ants had made the front door their home.Staff never told us when load shedding would take place, which every other hotel in SA updated us on.On our final nights stay we were awoken early by a large group of classic car enthusiasts, who had decided to stop for early breakfast at the hotel (which just happened to be layed out in front of our room). Despite these people not being guests, it seems they were more of a priority than actual guests at breakfast! I was also requested to move my car from it’s reserved space to allow one of them to park their car outside the hotel front door! (presumably my VW didn’t fit the hotel image ?)Above factors are a shame as it’s impacted what would have been a very nice stay .

Wonderful breakfast and very kind staff. The view from the breakfast terrace is breathtaking. Excellent service.
