Owner hands on and her excellent attention to detail. Amazing staff handling all aspects of the hotel from checkin to serving in the bar & serving breakfast. Breakfast was excellent too - the best fruit salad ever!

Everyone was friendly and engaging. The hotel has character, quirky interiors and a nice garden and pool area. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms were quiet despite being on the main road.

We were warned about mosquitos on checking in at 6pm which turned out to be a fair warning but the room had no spray or plug in mosquito repellent. Also, the mattress was springy and very uncomfortable, did not expect that. Also, standard length beds which no hotel should have, especially when it is the top option in town. I am 182cm tall which posed a problem and added to the discomfort.

A little blessing in the heart of a pitoresque village. Janet and John have an eye for details small and big and their team with an eternal smile and a friendly greet are just top of the bill … we have found our corner in paradise …. ??♥️

We deliberately booked a standard room only for the one night as we were hiking from McGregor to Greyton and the following day back to McGregor. The room was very adequate, not huge, but big enough, clean and comfortable. As we left at dawn to avoid the midday heat on the trail, we had asked for breakfast packs which were delivered in our absence, waiting in our little bar fridge for us. They tasted absolutely delicious. Proper bread, wholewheat, with ham and cheese and some spread, muffins and fruits. We couldn't have asked for more. Needless to say, after a long day's hike, the bed felt very comfy! What a treat it was to have a little cool down in the Hotel pool between two strenuous hiking days!

Actually, I can't think what was not to our liking.....

A wonderful experience from start to finish. Welcomed with a smile and efficiency from the moment we arrived. We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Hotel itself is quirky, colourful and full of charm. Well appointed rooms, beautiful gardens, and a fun and comfortable pool area. The breakfast was exceptional and the hotel is well located for exploring Greyton.

The breakfast was the best we have had in ages! And the early morning filter coffee in the rooms was good. The pool area was great and there was somebody who came around at various times asking if we needed any refreshments etc. Generally all the staff were fantastic - from the check-in to the housemaids and everyone in between. It is a really well-run hotel.

We found it a bit odd that there was a note requesting that the aircon only be switched on for 30 mins. This did not affect us but it could possibly be a problem in the height of summer when temperatures are in the 30 degrees plus.

Everyone made us so welcome and one of the owners, Janet, went out of her way to solve a problem for us. She organised the payment of a parking fine for us (yes, i know -- not a common occurrence in Greyton hence the obscurity of the payment system!!) and also organised a great couple to take us to see the spectacle of a large flock of rare blue cranes descend for the evening which, though it involved a 40 minute drive away and a constant supply of vitals, refused to take any payment. The grounds of the hotel were delightful though in 39 degrees of heat a bit more shade would have been welcome. The pool was sweet and flanked by comfortable sun beds. We spent a delightful and relaxing weekend in Greyton, and if you want an interesting and informative experience we recommend visiting the Genadendal Historic Village and Museum nearby.

The chairs in the bedroom were uncomfortable to sit in and the bedside lighting was poor.

Great breakfast each morning, inside or outside. The grounds are lovely, and there is a pool to cool off in. The staff are wonderful, it is like a home from home. Nice hotel bar open in the evening and lots of cafes and restaurants in town.Greyton is a superb town off the beaten tourist trap. Lots to do, really friendly locals.

Nothing, this place is a hidden gem I would love to keep to myself.

    Nothing to point out!
