Just 1 blocks from the Main St., Austral has nicely decorated rooms with free Wi-Fi and parking in downtown Ushuaia. Excursions to Lapataia Bay and airport shuttles may be arranged. Rooms at Hotel Austral Ushuaia are cozy and spacious. They have carpeted floors, LCD cable TVs and private bathrooms. A buffet breakfast with regional jams and hot chocolate can be enjoyed in the large dining area, which features scenic views of the bay. The living room is furnished with sofas, a computer for guest use and a TV. Austral offers ski storage facilities and a handy check-in/check-out service.

- Convenient location, very friendly and helpful staff. Adequate room and facilities. Small, intimate, hotel.

- Staff was truly friendly and helpful. They were interested in providing what we needed and great to talk with albeit in Spanish. the hotel is an older classic building and well maintained. this too us was a bonus instead of the modern and lacking character. The rooms were large and the common areas spacious. Quiet area and nice view of the city.
Cons -
- Nothing to complain about. A suggested enhancement would be to have tea and coffee making facilities available in the lounge/dining area during the day (not just at breakfast).
- We got bitten by bed bugs and left the property. The property did not acknowledge the fact, made us doubt it and explained that these were for sure mosquitoes. We gave them the benefit of doubt and stayed one night longer, to wake up completely covered with bites. Horrible experience for the rest out our vacation. No one from the hotel acknowledged this or asked us anything upon our departure even though we did report it. They only acknowledged this after reporting this to booking and claimed that they will disinfect the room. Yet no question about our health whatsoever
