Wyndham Garden Ushuaia Hotel del Glaciar

Beautiful views. Very very clean. The most amazing staff!!

The mattress are old, the charge for our room have a difference of almost $100 which I think it’s a lot since the original charge should be in dollars as shown in booking.

The design of the hotel suits its location, up in the mountains in the forest. But it is also easily accessible by vehicle. We visited in winter time; so the heating was great, hot water always in the tap. The bath is super important after spending the day in the cold. The bidet is a cool addition to any bathroom. The view from the room is amazing in either way, the bay or the Glacier. The room has all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. some of the sockets have type I and type C hybrid design, allowing to connect any device. The breakfast was good. The restaurant has a very nice view. And has a menu available to order during the day. The fireplace hall is super cozy, nice and warm. The staff is friendly and professional, and attends to the guest's needs.

Not much to say here, except maybe some little things that will appear petty. And they have no real effect on the quality of the stay or the comfort in my opinion.- The driveway wasn't cleared of snow. It appeared that it was left to freeze or melt on its own. Some evidence suggested an initial cleaning from the majority of the snow and ice, but apparently done rarely.- The bathtub is slightly smaller than expected and is of the sitting kind. You can still lie down in the water, but the feeling is a bit different. - There were no voile curtains on the window. Only blinders. I would leave some part of the blinders open to have some light from the city.- Maybe a second chair for the second person. Would've been nice to have a tea moment overlooking the city from the comfort of the room.

Just some what to hot in the room. And would have been nice to have a wash cloth. Key did not work most of the time. Had to get a different one twice.

The hotel is beautiful and the surrounding area and views are amazing

It is a little out of town up icy roads which at night can be a little tricky. Plus the breakfast was nice but as it was low season they just put some bread and eggs out and could’ve made a bit more of an effort. They also washed my clothes and shrunk everything which was very annoying

Beautiful location! The hotel is lovely, it has that old world charm, but is cozy at the same time, with a gorgeous fireplace in the lobby. The staff were super attentive and kind. Recommend 100%!

Breakfast was good, not many options, but the existing ones were good!Room was clean and comfy!The view was amazing from the hotel lobby and room!

I was charged a "fee" for using the electric kettle to warm my soon's milk, it was around $90.The fitness center was simply an empty room and the outside door was open, and it was simply -5ºC at that day, so I don't even know why they bother say they have a fitness center if it is like this.

The views of the glacier

It was a bit far from the town. It was about a 2km walk down the mountain to the town or a simple cab ride. Location was pleasant but a little inconvenient. The restaurant in the hotel was very basic

The kitchen in the restaurant isn't worthy. The food is not so bad, but it is not at the level for such hotel.

Scenery

No air conditioning. Furniture run down. Chairs for sitting by window there was only one chair. Stains on rug. Had to open window with chair.

Very nice cozy hotel however it looks like rooms do need maintenance. Nothing was brocken or out of order, just “tired”. Personal was very welcoming

Breakfast (knowing Wyndham brand) was awfull, not tasty at all, poor choice.

Meals in the lounge/bar area were lovely. However the restaurant buffet was terrible (range and quality) despite being really expensive.

It was a quiet and beautiful location, if a little out of the way. The room was bigger than I expected, and the view was beautiful.

The general comfort level was good but not excellent (bed, bathroom), and it was far away from town so I had to get a taxi to get to/from the hotel.

Wonderful location with stunning views of Ushuaia harbour and the Beagle Channel and the surrounding mountains. Easy distance to the city, national park and glacier. Rooms are well appointed. Nice breakfast buffet.

Perhaps more variety in the breakfast would be nice as it was the same each day.

Proximity to the glacier and the views. Also the fact that it was a Wyndham.

The showers curtains were horrible and if not positioned correctly would leak water all over the floor. Additionally, at one point when I tried to close the shower curtain, the whole shower rod fell off. Every bottle of water was an expensive amenity 2000 pesos seriously?While I like the property location and the breakfast etc., while checking in we had requested for a late checkout and the lady at the desk mentioned it was $30 which I agreed to and they were supposed to have enabled me to do that. But at checkout time the person at the desk charged us $70 - this person (a different lady) even told us that the manager had changed the rates for the holiday time, which the previous check-in lady might have missed - and after a lot of back and forth the manager agreed to have us pay the $30, but that he would be taking the difference from the pocket of the person at the time of check-in. First, they are trying to take more just for the holiday time, and second, they want to blame their poor practices on their reports. This was a manipulative way to try to make us pay more because it would be coming out of someone else’s pocket, but that the manager refused to take accountability for the fallout of this predatory practice. That is horrible management from my perspective! I wish Wyndham looks into this!

Food quality - extremely poor. Breakfast terrible. Eggs shells in the scrambled eggs. No taste. The options at the bar were terrible, tasted microwaved or not cooked at all. Room was extremely hot - I would turn down the heater and housekeeping would turn it up every time Reception staff were miserable, no smiles, no how was your stay, nothing. There is no shuttle as advertised - long drive into town.

Large room, lovely views and very helpful staff.

It’s a bit far from the town, although Ubers are quite cheap. The restaurant food is only average.

Charming hotel with a real wintersport feeling; beautiful view onto the bay and the glacier/mountain; fantastic restaurant across the road; parking easy; very good breakfast; good own bar and restaurant facilities.
