Old, but comfy. Clean rooms. Nothing fancy, but the bed was soft, and it was warm, just what i needed.

Simple room in good location with good prize. I figured out the sauna too late, but next time I will know. Vardø is great.

Check-in was extremely smooth; we arrived late in the evening, got the code to the key box located outside and our room was all ready for us. The room was very spacious and the place is animal friendly so we had no problems fitting 2 people and our 2 dogs. Little kitchen with everything you need and hot shower with good pressure. Free parking right outside if you arrive by car, but all the sights are walking distance anyway. Will definitely stay here again if ever in Vardø!

Great place to stay, very clean. It's pretty basic but for the price it's a good hostel. Everything you may need for a few days stay

The house is a bit old and sure here and there some improvements are due, but it is very charming at the same time and one has everything needed for a relaxed stay. The location is close to the harbour and the main bus stop. A short walk to the market and the only pub in town. Everything is doable on foot. Ckecking in was very easy. The owner Steinar is a very accomodating and super relaxed host. I especially wish to point out his kindness that wont be forgotten.

Nothing in particular, it was as I hoped it was.

Toilet and shower were very basic, but seemed to be clean.

The window in my room was extremely dirty. The room itself seemed clean. But I mistrusted the bed sheets and preferred to sleep in my sleeping bag.And the system with the key boxes was irritating. There was one and the same code for every box. And the numbers of the boxes didn't relate with the room numbers. So one had to look, which box had a key in it, and then go and try, if it was the right one or not. I was happy that an old couple, living at the same place, helped me.

Floor in the room was dirty. But the one that bothered me was the bathroom floor which turned slimy when got wet. Location was good, staff friedly and room cute.

Really good contact with owner, possibility to come whenever since the key is in a keybox with a code so it want a problem i arrived late in a night. Possible to use a kitchen downstairs. Simple accomodation, but when you stay really short time/just sleep and travel on then it works perfectly.

Good "home away from home" athmosphere, comfy, warm room and nice beds. Sauna, nice kitchen. Good location in the middle of Vardo. It was really pleasant to find an option, that is suitable also for budget travellers and is still good value.

The small room I had was actually quite cozy and relatively clean. The location is very good as everything is in a short walking distance (well, everything is in walking distance in Vardø).

The common rooms (kitchen, bathroom, toilet) are very run down and dirty. Only one toilet and one shower for the whole house. Barely any plates etc. in the kitchen. In the kitchen there was trash piling up from a couple of days. Make sure you’re not opening doors you are not supposed to open … you’ll see even more disgusting trash. The bathroom was dirty and I was very happy I brought slippers. The internet is very spotty. The walls are so thin you hear every single word and you hear people using the bathroom in the morning very clearly (when you’re staying in a room downstairs). I noticed also that when the surrounding is dirty and not well taken care of, people/guest are less likely to also bother about taking care of things. If you’re looking for a cheap place to stay in Vardø, it’s the place to go. But don’t expect cleanliness and well-cared attitude for things. Norway is not a cheap destination to travel to, but this place was not even worth the low price.

Great place for a budget traveler! Cute beach decor in the room! Better than expected for the price. Nice little kitchen, toilet and shower.For those complaining, what did you think €50 would get you this far north of the Arctic circle in Norway? Weather is harsh, supplies are expensive. heater is definitely big enough for the room, close the window and put on some layers. its not economical to heat the room to sauna level. yep walls are thin and it couldn’t pass a white glove inspection and perhaps the kitchen could be cleaner. But if he spent more money fixing those things….the nightly cost would go up. The dude seems chill, was cool about a late check out, friendly. i guess as an Alaskan i just have reasonable expectations, especially for this price.

Place is old building but tidy and clean. Personnel well prepared and kindly.

The location is perfect. The check in was very easy and flexible, we spontaneously booked a room and got in right away. Communications with the owner was very pleasant and easy. Very cheap comparing to other locations. Dog could join us without an extra fee.

The kitchen was poorly equipped. The fridge contained old foods and all areas were dirty (though cleaning equipment was available) and in need of maintenance.

The accommodation is quite cold and hard to heat up. Kitchen lacks some equipment.
