Assava Dive Resort

You can’t ask for a better location in a beautiful private cove setting. The food they served in the restaurant is excellent. Not necessary to go out they have it all here.

The rooms

The resort is beautiful with pastoral views and country vibes. Close to restaurants, 7-11, shark bay. There is a beach in the resort, small but beautiful.

Facilities in the bungalow are outdated, especially bathroom. For me that was not crucial at all and our stay was still very nice. There’s a lot of mosquitoes and it seems like the resort doesn’t take any action to struggle with them.

The hotel belongs to our diving school, so it was very comfortable for dive courses participants. The room and the area was clean, quiet and very beautiful. The stay has included transfer from and to the pier - this made our arrival very comfortable.

Some of the hotel staffs were a bit difficult to communicate, we went to have a breakfast in the morning and the staff could not communicate neither Thai nor English with us.

It would have been nice to have some mtn bikes for rent to help get back and forth to the pier. I guess I need to learn to ride a scooter/motor bike. They had those available for rent.Also, really happy that the taxi driver was available to give rides, as needed.And still pleased with the location, secluded enough from the noisy area but still restaurants, shops, yoga studio, currency exchange and 7/11 nearby

Great location, quiet place, just the beds were extremely hard!! Also they come too early to make the beds for the next person... It is a resort however they're doing a dorms

Very nice hotel sincerely. Nice room paint in good condition. Practical furniture. We have room for 2 suitcases. Large terrace. Safe. Good bedding. Functional bathroom with separation between the WC and the shower. Magnificent and maintained green spaces. Smiling staff (reception and restaurant .... but not maids). The hotel is well located near Freedom Beach and Shark Bay. It is also close to many points of view. Scooter rental on site with a good price. à la carte breakfast. Fantastic fruit juices (mango and mint or strawberries and mint). PADI diving center? not tested for personal reasons). Beach towels placed in the room. cleaning done every day. Payment made upon arrival. 2 problems only one of which is annoying: bad smell in the bathroom certain times of the day and .... a repetitive noise which comes from ??? Water balloons when someone activates the water? Or air conditioning? I think these are rams in the piping. The management offered to relocate to 1 other room we visited 4 and finally preferred to stay in our large clean room and with a beautiful terrace on the 1st floor. I will come back.

The room wasn’t clean especially the bathroom, the bathroom also had a bad smell.

* Reasonably-priced food at their open-air restaurant that looks out onto the ocean.* Local dive office.* Free taxi from/to ferry.* Nice rooms.* Staff made portable breakfasts for me when I had to leave before dawn for an early morning dive.* Myna birds that visit the cafe and make interesting vocalizations; I gave them chunks of my food.

* Poor reception on TV with few channels.* In-room safe that’s not bolted down for security.* Small swimming pool.* Sometimes slow service at restaurant.

The location was good and the place itself was nice. Good sea front location.

The bed really weren’t comfortable. When we asked things to the staff (if they had drinking water, or boiling water, which are pretty basic questions), it felt like we annoyed them.There is no drinking water for every room : they asked me my room number when I asked, and they answered that they couldn’t. I thought it was a joke first, it wasn’t. They lent us a boiler though !

The view from the property is just awesome. One could just spend days at the property without venturing out. They have a nice restaurant that serves good food and drinks. The staff is polite.They offer free pick up from the port and also allow early check-in at no extra cost.

The water was kept in the Dive Class office instead of an open accessible place. I couldn't access it at night when the office was closed. My room door knob wouldn't lock and opened in the night which led to mosquitoes in the room. The mattress has a rexine cover, so whenever one moves in bed, it makes a sound.

The place is beautiful, you have facilities close here and the beach in front of the resort. The staff is nice and they offer activities to do during you stay.

In my 4 beds room, the bed was doing to much noise when you moving

I think the pictures are from several years ago. The shared rooms are not very neat, the worst thing is the bathtub is rusty and the sink is covered. The pool also has rust around the edges.

I needed to wait 10 min until i could get hot water in the shwer. No chair

The lounge area by the beach was beautiful, there was a hammoc, a swing and pillows to relax on. The restaurant seemed nice too. They dropped me off to the bay without a fee

The dorm room was disappointing compared to my other dorm experiences in Thailand and elsewhere. The air-conditioning was poor, the mattress was plastic and so very muggy and sweaty and uncomfortable. They don’t wash the blankets, when my roommate left I saw them fold his blanket and put it back on the bed to be used again! Overall the room got very dirty since they didn’t clean daily.Additionally, the pool area wasn’t nice and the water by the beach wasn’t deep enough, so I had to go somewhere else to swim.

We stayed in a hostel room, and it was perfect for us as was near lots of restaurants, right on the beach, had a lovely pool and really pretty scenery!

The beds in the hostel were a little uncomfortable and the vent in the bathroom could of done with a mosquito net as we had lots of bugs coming into the bathroom.

The property offers free pickup and drop from the Koh Tao Pier. Great location on the Bay with good views of the beach. Beautifully maintained property with a good green cover.

The toilet in the dorm didn’t have ventilation and had consistent flush problems.
