    Pros +

    • Location- no beach though. You have to swim or walk down an extremely steep hill to the nearby beach (they charge 100 baht to go to this beach).
    • Stunning view, beautiful pool, great room and amazing dinners, lovely spa and nice service.
    • The room itself which was part of a new complex that belongs to the hotel was good. The hotel itself is very very old but this suite was good.

    Cons -

    • The steps traveling from room to pool or room to restaurant were extremely strenuous. Made moving around the hotel very limited. Door from room to balcony was extremely difficult to open and close.
    • The rooms barely have any lights in them. They were so dark. The bathroom did not have a shower just a wand in a tub. Great if you love baths but if you wanted a quick shower not so great. They did not provide face cloths, breakfast was just OK.
    • The stuff are not very niceNot very attentive They must work on the serviceOne of the worst hotel staff ever experienced.Breakfast is very very basic and poor. The location of the hotel was bad - the way to the lobby contains a road that is highly corrupted and if you come with a motorcycle (which is probably the case) then it can be very dangerous.

To most beautiful spot on the island

The hotel is super beautiful but the rooms are to old and the bad was not so comfortable, in addition the hotel is super far from everything the road are not good for motorcycle and there is only 3 shtetls from the hotel only to the puer and not even to the city.

I’ll not come back again and warn everyone for doing so!

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with my recent stay and to request a full refund for Room #7.We spent three days without functional air conditioning. Your maintenance team entered our room five times to attempt repairs, yet the unit failed every single night, making it impossible to sleep comfortably. As a 5-star establishment, the standard protocol should have been to move us to a cooler room immediately, rather than subjecting us to three days of discomfort. When I discussed it with the staff they were so rude and offered to cancel my reservation during my stay - I never faced that awful service before.I paid $721.50 for this room. The hotel offered a $45 discount for a room that lacked basic climate control, which is insulting. I expect a full refund for Room #7 to resolve this matter appropriately.

Nice rooms, amazing pool with stunning views, clean tidy

extremely step slope to get hotel, and lots of steps within

The resort was clean, the food was perfect! Very tasty! The staff was very kind. There was Seattle to the center.

A lot of stairs, but its good for health ?

Worst staff ever. Resort has so much potential but is worn out and not well maintained. It is also too big with no way to move around easily

    Excellent hotel, with stunning views.

A little far from the action, but a great place to get away from everything and relax. It’s a small island so doesn’t take long to get around. If you are traveling with people with knee or mobility problems it might not be the hotel for you as it’s set on a hill with several steep inclines

A beautiful establishment, built in the rocks of the cliff - so yes, while there are stairs to navigate...what do you expect with these breathtaking views? The restaurant food is actually pretty good for a hotel/resort that is isolated.

    1BouhnikPosted on: 9-7-2025

What I liked was the location and the view from the room

The people are simply not nice. There are so many stairs in the hotel that you think twice before leaving the room or coming back to it. The price is just not worth the place. This is really, really not a 5-star hotel

    10AntonPosted on: 8-25-2025

Everything was perfect, this is the most beautiful hotel I have ever been to, with stunning views, really nice staff and world class beach for snorkeling.

    7ShukiPosted on: 5-3-2025

    Very nice location

We booked on booking.com including late check out.Hotel refused to give us late check up and explain that booking is not the hotel...Also pool shade area was unsaficiant.

    5KaraPosted on: 4-29-2025

The pool and the restaurant and the views.

Staff are rude, shuttle service very poor (nothing after 6.30pm. All other hotels we have been to in Thailand offer a shuttle up to 10pm). air con is terrible. Too many steps makes going to the restaurant, pool and your room a massive hassle (even for very fit people). Having paid roughly £120 per night we still need to pay to use snorkels, flippers, and paddle board. These have been included in all other Thailand hotels we stayed at. Hotel is quite run down and tired in places.

    7KatarinaPosted on: 4-23-2025

    Pros:+ beautiful view+ comfortable beds+ excellent dinners

Cons:- Very RUDE STAFF, with few exceptions. For example: my boyfriend and I were drinking cocktails by the pool during happy hour and while trying different drinks, the 2 bar tenders were making fun of us - they were speaking in their language, so we didn't understand what they were saying, but the body language and the looks were extremely obvious and they didn't even bother to hide their behaviour. It was very unpleasant, so at certain point we left. Other staff acted extremely bored and they when you asked for something, they made you feel like "What do you want now, just leave me alone." There were a few exceptions, though, that were nice and helpful, but overall one of the worst services - remember, this was supposed to be a 5* hotel, so this kind of behaviour and type of service is unacceptable.- A lot of stairs. If you have problems with physical activity (due to bad knees, etc.), do not book this hotel.- Bad access to the beach: you need to walk cca. 100 stairs to get there and there is no sandy beach, only rocks. The access to the beautiful sandy beach (Shark's bay) is from one hotel before the Jamahkiri.

I stayed in Bungalow #5 and it was perfect – stunning view, super comfortable bed, spacious shower, and everything was spotless! The breakfast felt classy and the staff were truly amazing. There are quite a few stairs at the resort, so keep that in mind, but the whole resort has a really cool vibe. I also booked the private boat tour around the island – absolutely worth it! I loved it so much, I booked two more nights right after my stay.

People….take those stairs seriously. Anyone with physical issues or recovering, go elsewhere! We are sporty & healthy but were still struggling in the full heat & humidity. Minimum of 100x stairs from the room to the reception. We stayed halfway up. So, it could have been worse. Stairs are not even. The hotel gets a 11/10 for the view to the Ocean and to Freedom beach. But it’s almost impossible to walk up the road (that steep!) or with two persons on a scooter, to reach the hotel. Pool area is lovely. Enough loungers. Food & drink is expensive and comes mandatory with 17% on top. Food was ok and more focused on blend european food rather than beautiful thai food. Coffee at breakfast a disgrace!!! An old machine with instant coffee only. Hot water for tea coming from a plastic reservoir. Unacceptable when you pay €150 a night for a room. Rooms were run down and same for some areas in the hotel. Views from the room were beautiful but couldn’t hide the bad state of the furniture and wallpaper. During our 4nights in this hotel there were a lot of israeli people (20-30yrs) on their war break. Which was very painful to overhear and difficult to ignore. They were loud and arrogant and didn’t care about other guests. We even watched fights broke out at Freedom beach between israeli guys and other foreigners because of their terrible behavior.

We had an exceptional stay at Jamahkiri Resort. The setting is stunning, with ocean views, peaceful surroundings, and amazing snorkeling right off the dock. The staff truly made our experience special. A heartfelt thank you to Fifa, Nancy, and Onew, who were incredibly kind, helpful, and attentive throughout our stay. The restaurant team served delicious meals with care, and the housekeeping staff were friendly and kept our room spotless. We also really appreciated the dockside staff, who made snorkeling easy and safe.We left feeling relaxed, cared for, and grateful. Highly recommend Jamahkiri to anyone looking for a peaceful escape with outstanding service.

Nothing - it exceeded all of our expectations!

Aircon was leaking gas, staff were not helpful at all. We could not sleep, what a waste of money.

Staff were rude and did not fix the aircon and refuse to give me a refund. Airbnb would never allow this.

Couple of days in the hilltops chilling by the pool. Great for divers. Stunning restaurant views. Very quiet resort. Lots of steps but keeps you fit and manageable.
