    Pros +

    • This is a very grand, and very old hotel. Some of it was modern (pool/gym area, terraces, elevators), and much was dated and in need of serious refurbishment. The beds were good. Breakfast was very plentiful if you were early, if not, too bad. Parking was easy and plentiful. If you hit a sunny day, you are rewarded with one of Earth's most beautiful panoramic views. So get an alp-facing room, with a balcony. The pool and gym, hammam and sauna were very well maintained. The restaurant and dining were in a beautiful room and the quality of the food/kitchen was pretty high.
    • Beautiful historic hotel, really charming, but not yet fully renovated. Dined in the restaurant, very satisfied.
    • Fantastic view, comfortable rooms and absolutely fabulous restaurant "Belle Epoque". We didn't expect such a refined cuisine, with a vast selection of food.

    Cons -

    • Our bedroom was dated and in need of repair. There was damaged wallpaper which had been kept in place with a very poor tape job. The mini fridge was out of order, explained by a very old "sign". There were some icky bathtub grout issues. Though the bathroom was clean, certain aspects were just old and stained. Most inconvenient of all was that there was no electric kettle or coffee machine.
    • Spa was disappointingly small
    • Nothing to comment.Suggestion : cable tv would be welcome so anyone could sign in into their accounts… it’s slowly happening in several hotels.

Old -lady-style with a charm and vintage atmosphere.Room was very spacious and the view astonishingly scenic - the alps in their grandeur!Bathroom also spacious and good shower.Good breakfast with enough choices.Restaurant offered attentive service and good food, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Nothing to comment.Suggestion : cable tv would be welcome so anyone could sign in into their accounts… it’s slowly happening in several hotels.

    Terrible

Indoor swimming pool was very cold. We only went for that and could not enjoy. There is nothing else to do with child besides the swimming pool. The restaurant very expensive.

    Very poor

Room had to be changed as room provided was not as requested. Away from 2nd room booking.Food in restaurant very boring and over priced so decided to eat out.Hotel was tired and scruffy.

The views are amazing We paid for a large room so it was spacious (sadly only a narrow bath with over shower)

The staff were very inefficient unfriendly and unhelpfulWe had to fetch our own crock and cutlery for breakfast and put up parasols!Had to ask many times to replenish the meagre continental breakfast Dogs only tolerated though charged forOnly ate once on first night because because they begrudgingly let our little dog sit under the table But then dinner was not served on the terrace (where she was allowed!!)No air con anywhere Vastly overpriced Everything a little tattyDisappointed but couldn’t fault the view

It is an interesting, vintage hotel with a lot of beautiful woodwork. Entrance area is particularly nice.Restaurant and food is very good.Staff including restaurant staff are generally friendly and helpful.Pool and spa were good although I only use the pool.

Although dogs are welcome, I was not aware of the extra charge or that you must eat in the bar area if you have a dog until after I emailed the hotel to inform them I was bringing a dog.Fitness room weight area was terrible: not enough room, only 2 sets of dumbbells, the curl bar was unusable..(maybe exercise bikes were OK but I didn't try them). Some areas like the large roof terrace on the first floor needed more care i.e a lot of weeds growing between pavement cracks.Restaurant service is not very good: long waiting between courses.

Great terrace and view of the mountains

„Pet friendliness“ was limited. They were not allowed at dinner and breakfast tables. No staff was present at breakfast - not really at a grand hotel level. The egg cooker did not work. I had to call somebody via reception who simpy removed the cooler without explanation - thus no eggs for anybody. The service at dinner was not at the level of a grand hotel

Great views, but that's about it.

The hotel depicted on the Booking.com website is not what you get. Booking.com needs to review this urgently. This is nowhere near a 'Grand Hotel'....... 3 star at the very best. The whole hotel is in desperate need of a total renovation. It is extremely tired looking in both the room we were allocated as well as all of the public areas.Staff give the impression that they are not motivated and just do their job. The breakfast service was dismal to say the least. Our room size was great, however, in desperate need of renovation, the furniture upholstery is perishing it is so old.Half of the window blinds in our room did not work and the balcony was filthy. The bathroom shower was tiny and completely outdated.Clearly we won't be back and will look at other options for our next trip to the area (of which there are many). To say we were disappointed is an understatement.

The building is undoubtedly beautiful. The common area space is large and inviting. The staff is friendly and mostly helpful. The view on the East side of the building is excellent. The spa seems nice, with large facilities.

There are some downsides to the building being old. My room door was paper thin, I could hear everything going on in the hall. The wind howls around the building at night, which can be nice, but also is a distraction when trying to sleep. The street noise on the West side of the building is incredibly loud. Between the car noises, sounds of people dumping cans and bottles in the dumpster, and random banging noises through the night it would be loud by urban standards, never mind rural, which this area is. If you are staying here, request an East facing room. The room keys are these giant pieces of metal that are a pain to carry unless you have a backpack. The breakfast buffet quality was subpar, and I think they were a bit understaffed because things kept running out without being resupplied and tables were not being cleaned very quickly. Also the breakfast dining area can fill up quickly.

Very charming hotel, authentic and with very friendly staff

Bathroom is outdated, no shower cell

Great view. If the weather permits you can spot the lake of Geneva. Junior Suite was big with a living room, TV, and a lot of storage space etc. It had all you need. Intercontinental Buffet Breakfast was good and fresh. We did not check out the Spa, swimming pool, so cannot say anything about that.

It did not feel like a historical hotel as it promised to be... the renovations were partially too modern or too "fake".

    8JulienPosted on: 4-3-2024

Outstanding views, from a hotel that has some caché. Awesome breakfast.& Staff were supporting.

Swimming pool was a bit too cold, and to be picky on details the diner area has not a really comfortable lightning.

uncomfortable bed... was upgraded to a heritage room.. Would have preferred a modern one

What a hidden gem! If you enter the hotel you can immediately feel the vibes of the "belle epoque", it is just impressive. The new owners, who took over a few years ago, started to renovate the restaurant, spa area and some rooms and they did a great job! The whole staff was very friendly and helpfull and I really mean everyone, from the cleaning lady to the receptionist to the staff at the restaurant and bar. When we couldn't leave our dog alone the prepared a beautiful table at the bar where we could take the dog with us. They even prepared a bowl with water. I can't wait to come back!

The rooms who are not yet renovated are functional but do not have a special spirit.

    Amazing location and lovely hotel

Swimming pool, sauna and steam room all quite cold for some reason. Restaurant too expensive for a family to dine in.

    7MariannePosted on: 8-14-2023

Really classic hotel. It appears to have a lot of regular customers. Like walking into the late century. Fantastic view, great breakfast.

Not speaking french is really a disadvantage. Nobody even tried to help us understand the menu card, though we asked.

Historic Swiss hotel with modern facilities. Spacious room, balcony, comfortable bed, great restaurant, friendly staff. I enjoyed every moment being there.

    All good
