Pros +
- Fantastic balcony with view over the sea. Historic hotel that was very well kept. Nice breakfast.
- Traditional hotel renovated to very good standard. Restaurant has good food. Sand beach is 200m away. Supermarket also close.Hint: Ask for a room in the old part of the hotel (rooms are renovated and really beautiful)
- Lovely apartment in main building, nicely decorated, clean and with a wonderful terrace overviewing the harbour. Windows are very well isolating so no disturbance at all from the hotel's pub, which closes around 10 PM.Practical: fridge in the room and a professional Nespresso coffee machine.Lovely garden.
Cons -
- The modern part of the hotel should have been built to look like the historic part.
- No elevator in the old part of the building. So you have to carry your luggage up and down.
- As it was exceptional warm, it would have been very nice to have dinner outside. There is a very nice pub-restaurant, linked to the hotel but this kitchen already closes at 19 hrs. The idea is that from then on, the inside hotel-restaurant is open. Missed opportunity to be customer-focussed. Company focus became priority, many customers were very disappointed and staff got stressed as ordering a desert was no longer possible as it was after 19 hrs...

The old style building had loads of character and lovely location.
The staff were indifferent and one was just rude. He being the man who met us for dinner. So rude was he we walked out of the restaurant and ate elsewhere.
Room in the old part of the hotel was wonderful with a lovely balcony, bathroom and very comfortable bed
Breakfast choice could have been better and hotter
Location and balcony view,nice breakfast.
Room phone not working. Safe box is very old, couldn't set own code. Trash can in bathroom is a broken, had to manually open the cover by hand each time, quite nasty ?. Overall the facilities of this hotel are quite oldish.

Our room was situated in the older part of the hotel and had been beautifully renovated. Although there was not an elevator to the top floor, the room was certainly worth it. There was a lovely private balcony with two large cane chairs, perfect for an afternoon drink looking down the fjord. Excellent breakfast!
Trainee receptionist and breakfast wait staff could use further training and a more pleasant demeanour.
The apartment we used for our family of five was very clean and comfortable, with all the necessary ammenities to cook supper. The beautiful view on the fjord was an added bonus. Breakfast was very good.
The staff was welcoming and friendly. We stayed in the historic wing of the hotel. The room was updated with a beautiful view of the harbor. The breakfast was delicious and had a wide variety of offerings.
Excellent breakfast buffet, comfortable clean room, old part of the hotel very pretty, good value for money.
Newer part of the hotel and room is a bit dated
Very nice traditional hotel close to the ferry stop and the bus stop with beautiful view of the fiord. We stayed in the new modern wing of the hotel, beds were very comfortable, and the room was very quiet.
The hotel was clean comfortable and great value for money. The location was great and we were given a room with patio door on to a lawn overlooking the lake. Most of the staff were helpful and polite. The reception has a coffee machine with free coffee and tea. Breakfast was excellent. A lovely looking hotel with a great atmosphere.
The area around the hotel is lacking in restaurants so we booked to eat in the hotel. The receptionist ( a young man) was on phone when I went to asked about booking a time slot, after what seemed like 10 minutes he asked what he could help with. I said I wanted to book the restaurant, he proceeded to point me in the direction of the restaurant to book. The restaurant was manned by two young men, we booked for 8.30. At 8.30 we arrived for dinner, one of the young waiters pointed to a table across the room ( pointed not showed us to the table ) then when we sat down he put the menus down, then proceeded to come back less than a minute later and asked us if we had chosen, no drink menu was offered, we were not asked if we wanted drinks. We felt like we were not welcome in the restaurant and left. The only place we Could find open was a pizza cafe which was about to close, but he kindly made us a pizza. This did not completely ruin our experience at the hotel, we spent the evening sitting by the water. I mentioned our experience at reception on checking out she was very apologetic.
Everything.A perfect place for reasonable price in the centre of an amazing village.
Room in the older part of the hotel was very cute and comfortable with an updated bathroom. View off our deck was lovely
There were flies by the breakfast buffet
This is a lovely historic hotel with really beautiful public areas. My room was in the newer part of the hotel and I was really pleased to have a view of the fjord, which I hadn't expected! There are various beautiful areas to relax in, both indoors and outdoors, right by the water. I was very happy with my room, which was large and beautifully decorated. There was a nice tea tray, iron and umbrella! The bathroom was also very modern, large and spacious. I didn't have an evening meal, but breakfast at the hotel was really excellent. There was a huge selection of cereals, fruits, breads, pancakes, cooked items, everything you might want. I only stayed for one night at this hotel but I wish I could have stayed longer. Its definitely a place to return to.
Great location, nice hotel and room. Staff generally great.
No coffee/tea making facilities.Heated food at breakfast barely tepid, but very good selection. Was accosted quite aggressively by a member of staff who objected to me leaving the breakfast area with half a small muffin, that I had wrapped in the (I thought) thoughtfully provided little greaseproof bags available in the breakfast area (there was no notice saying not to touch them, and I thought they were for guest use a they were in the serving area). I was forcefully told that I must relinquish the used little bag as I hadn't paid for it (!). I had intended to take the little bag of half a tiny muffin as I am diabetic and wanted to have an emergency stand-by. It was very embarrassing and quite distressing. As was attempting to get a little glass of orange juice 30 seconds after 10am (I hadn't realised that the cut off period was so vehemently enforced). This really spoiled the experience of the hotel.

The personnel in the lobby was very friendly. The old part of the hotel is beautiful, the new part does not really fit to the old part. The room was large and simple, but had everything we needed.
The coffee machine was leaking. At dinner the starter was amazing, but the rest of the food was lacking a bit of taste so we felt it was overpriced.
The hotel exudes beauty and is perfectly situated. Its charming rooms and delightful breakfast set the stage for a memorable stay.
