Pros +
- Sho! This is an establishment that goes above and beyond. From the time that we booked, to our arrival, to our stay, the team made it such a relaxing and delightful work retreat. We take our hats off to everyone: from the porters, to the desk staff, to the kitchen staff, to the cleaning staff. We were well taken care of.
- I had a wonderful stay at Arniston Hotel and would happily return.Everything about the experience was lovely — the service was warm and attentive, the rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, and the views are absolutely magnificent. While the beds were slightly on the firm side, the generous space and overall comfort more than made up for it. The spa was also a real highlight — calm, relaxing, and beautifully done.Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel in a stunning location, and I would definitely stay there again.
- Located right on the beach. Was able to book for 1 night (many of the self catering rentals require longer stays). The breakfast buffet is one of the most extensive i have seen and the quality was great.
Cons -
- There was drilling during our one conference experience. We were accommodated when we requested that they pause their works.
- The only downside was the noise level. There were many children staying at the hotel, and although I genuinely love kids, the overall noise in the common areas felt excessive at times and did impact the sense of tranquility. In addition, the glass in the elevator was quite dirty, and the carpets in the passageways could benefit from being replaced. That said, the hotel was otherwise very clean and clearly well-maintained, and these felt like fixable details rather than major issues.
- Receptionist was grumpy. Booked 3 rooms for 5 people on booking.com, but was told i had only booked for 4 people and was forced to pay for an extra person (i checked my booking later and i had booked for 5 on the site). The hotel itself is a little tired, and probably due for a refurbishment.

The rooms were very comfortable and great location.
The food was not very good and the waitress told us the fish was fresh and it wasn’t. She also didn’t know what wine was available. told us a certain wine was not available when it was. Breakfast was good but lunch and dinner not good at all.
The ocean view was beautiful and staff were very friendly. The breakfast was delicious.
The hotel is overpriced for what you get, I could pay the same amount and get a much more modern, clean looking hotel with an aircon and smart tv (which this hotel didn't have). It still has carpets in the room, no smart tv and only a ceiling fan. It's the small details that would make a difference. It's not a bad stay, it's just that it is really overpriced for what you get.
Our room was exceptional, our view was exceptional, breakfast was great. What a relaxing experience.
We feel the little shop at the back could be better in appearance and stock
Good foodGreat breakfast
Kids are not free like HouwhoekNothing to do for childrenIn other words, not a kid friendly hotel.
Great location, spacious room with exceptional view, swimming/beach towels available, excellent breakfast and dinner
Great breakfast and property, helpful staff
I have been coming here for the last 20 years. Always enjoy the hotel. Great staff, love kassiesbaai and the sea
Location
Cleaning Facilities are outdatedFungus in bathroom
Spacious rooms, Great seaview and access and the breakfast was lovely
My room was close to the cleaning station
Our room was the highlight. Very spacious room and bathroom with comfortable and large bed. The large balcony overlooks the ocean. Wonderful hotel.
The location was awesome. We had quite a bad weather so we stayed around the hotel only. The fisherman village was beautiful and the sand dunes worth the effort of walking to them. The food was great at the dinner, the breakfast selection overwhelming.
A bit grumpy receptionist
Beautiful beach view and great breakfast.
It’s isolated. Nothing to walk to. There’s not a restaurant, shops or anything else around.
As always the food was nice. The fact that the room had a bath and a shower.
Beds were hard & uncomfortable to sleep in. 2 single beds and we went as a couple on our anniversary? Had an allergic reaction to the bedding(itchy skin & tight chest) most of the night. Might be the detergent they washed the bedding with or maybe they sprayed the beds. My husband didn't want me to complain. Luckily I had my allergy medication and asthma pump.
Arniston Spa Hotel is one of my favourite go to places for ultimate relaxation and spoils. The sea view rooms on the upper floors are nothing short of spectacular!!!RH - has both sea & Pool balconies affording you amazing sunrise & sunset experiences
RH … too big for only a weekend ???
all round experience
sea facing room on ground floor facing car park first
The location is excellent, amazing views, the room had everything we needed. The breakfasts were amazing and the food was really good all round. Staff were amazing very helpful and polite.
The room needed a bit of maintenance it is an old hotel though but the building needs work ie plumbing etc
Essentially everything. Beautiful sea view, east facing so we were able to watch the sunrise over the ocean from the comfort of our room. Very good breakfast selection.
